Perhaps when KT gets the source so he can build a KitKat TW Kernel
FIRST!!!!!!!!
So is a kernel that we need ???? People in the 9505 forums fix this problem by flashing the new baseband which of course they have and we probably never will lol
No Wifi ...no problems... I have unlimited data.lol!!!

Tmo will get the update in the next 6 weeks is my guess.
You can try to flash the i9505 modem. You gotta do it with mobile Odin tho. I had flashed their 4.3 modems when it first leaked to see if it'd fix the data drop issue, which it gave me no service at all and had to reflwsh tmos. So you could try i9505 fix for S&Gs

Flashing their modem deff won't work on our phones...... And we deff won't get this update nowhere near 6 weeks..... The international version hasn't even gotten their official update yet this is a leaked version...... And they get their updates couple months before we get ours..... Not 2 bring bad news but Tmobile will deff not push this update anywhere near 6 weeks from now

I meant from when they release i9505s which is supposed to be this month.
I9505 got there's in October , we're talking officially here, we got ours in November. We would of gotten it even sooner then that but other carriers had issues and they stalled all updates.
Anyway, this is derailing what this thread is. Just a suggestion because it is possible to flash their modems.

Still got a ways to go. No 3rd party apps, flashable themes or deletion of playstore apps. But the Tap & Pay does work out of the box.

I'm not sure why it would say that, but the firmware in this thread is the same build, MDL, as the update. If you flashed it you are updated.

This is stock unmodified firmware - use ODIN , not some modifed recovery

Hey guys,
I'm back on the note II with AT&T.
I am currently on the MH3 build with Android 4.1.2 and was wondering if it is smart to take an OTA update for 4.3. I did a few searches regarding the boot loader (I heard its locked now? what?!?)
Additionally, I would like to root my phone and install a custom rom. I see that CleanRom is no longer supported and was wondering if anyone has stepped up to the plate to provide something of a similar caliber? (I want to install ad block and greenify)
The features I am looking for in a rom:
1. Stability <--- need it to be safe for work.
2. Removed AT&T apps/debloated
3. Battery Life
4. Speed
Some recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciate!

Recommendations, are mostly just personal opinions. And of course every one has one. It always comes down to what makes you happy.
You're going to have to find the one that trips your trigger. So I'll just make suggestions .......
First off no need to go to OTA.
Just flash this 4.3 bin and img file below to use 4.3 ROMs
Keep your knox free 4.1.2 bootloader. Allowing you to freely flash between 4.1.2 roms and the latest 4.3 stuff
Keeping Wifi Throughout and removing Knox
4.3 Param.bin and Tz.img (ODIN flash not custom recovery)
http://d-h.st/OYC
Graciously provided by seanzscreams.
On that note, try his SkyNote ROM.

What about flashing a 4.4 ROM?
I have also just returned to a Note 2 today! I am on the 4.1.2 and MH3 Build as well; It is brand new I just took it out of the box and I am ready to root/twrp/flash the crap out of it. Is there any way to flash any 4.4.x ROM? Should I take the 4.3 update (I could care less about voiding warranties)? Thanks in advance.

Use this as a stepping stone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891
That way you can still downgrade running the leaked MJ4 bootloader...
Hold off doing the 4.3 OTA until we see if it's mandatory to be on it whenever they get off their a$$es and push 4.4 out.

I was working off the link you provided and this one as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502464
So after some debating/ton-a-reading I decided to root/twrp/flash the 4.3 Param.bin and Tz with Odin and went with the crew providing the IOKP ROM (4.3.1). I love the ROM but the nerd/little kid in me wants to know what happens if I flash a 4.4.x ROM; I will update if I try it.
Am I right in assuming that any 4.4.x ROM's out there for our Note 2 right now is working off a 4.3.x bootloader and that 4.4 is a dream for the Note 2 that will never happen (officially)? On top of that there will be that whole KNOX garbage...
Anyway thanks for the response, I love the XDA community!

You are correct. 4.3 bootloader whether it's the leaked 4.3 MJ4 or the OTA 4.3 MK6. MK6 is the locked bootloader that you cannot overwrite.
4.4 is allegedly in the works.... Been plastered all over the tech news sites. Supposedly March or April.. We're on the a$$ end of March .... So what are the odds.

Not like bootloader. Bootloader is the sboot.bin file... If you try to ODIN that after the 4.3 update the flash will fail...
tz.img = ARM Trust Zone - http://www.arm.com/products/processo.../trustzone.php
param.bin = kernel load parameters, plus some JPEG's required in the boot stage.

As I prefer the stock TW with no bloatwares this ROM is my ultimate choice. Extremely good on battery. Easy > 4h of screen time over the course of 2 days. No hiccup, no trade off. Very smooth and runs with minimum RAM (~35% most of the time on mine)
The few problems I've found are either belong to kitkat itself or cosmetic ones.
1. VPN still doesn't work. It gets connected but no data package transferred.
2. Lock screen music widget sucks. No longer able to pick song from the list or change shuffle / repeat.
3. The built-in Adam KN hasn't fixed the power off charging. The latest talexop KN v.25 did fix this problem.
4. Under Settings / Storage it shows 9.7gbs, which is the actual storage left on our phone.
5. In About device it shows I9505, not our M919. This reflects on Google Play and all other google services.
Overall I'm very happy with this ROM. Highly recommended for anyone prefer stock TW look. Just wish someone will step up and fix the VPN issue soon. Seems like it plagues most devices running kitkat.
Going to give this ROM a try. Hopeful I get the results you guys are getting.
This is, by far, the most stable, fastest ROM that I have tried. And I am a flash-a-holic!
I installed ktoonsez kernel and left the settings alone to get LTE.
I am using this with Straight Talk (ATT Sim). I have not seen LTE icon in last 2 days. Is there something I should be doing?
- I already applied LTE Fix - It was on first post of ROM
- I have double checked my APN and it is same as what I had with Stock ROM and I got LTE signal fine.
Is it just the display thing? I know old CM ROMS used to display LTE as 4G and 4G as H+
Please let me know.

4G is LTE in the international ROMs.. It will show 3G/H+ for UMTS/HSDPA
Edit: if you want to change the icons I posted a way to do it in the original thread

So, I was running the latest firmware for the Sprint S6 OL1. I did a clean install of this rom...wiping cache/dalvic cache, system and data. After reboot...all it does is bootloop.

Looks to be an issue with the new version of S Health. Please follow the instructions on this link to get it working: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-s-health-devices-knox-t3543306
I will make these changes to the ROM and re-upload once android file hosting maintenance is over.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

No problem, you will need to use ODIN to upgrade to Nougat first. You can download the firmware from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=889764386195905698. After installing the new firmware, boot up the phone normally. After you've booted, follow these instructions http://www.droidviews.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-on-android-7-0-nougat/. Instead of following the steps to install Magisk, just install the ROM since it's already rooted.

Yeah it normally takes a few tries with the new firmware unless you flash to stock first. Glad to hear your got it booted. I am still working on the ROM and plan to add a few tweaks here and there when I think of it. I just wanted to get an initial release out until I have time to get it how I want. I will be uploading a new version later today with a few changes.

Version 2 has been uploaded. The download link is in the OP. If you have already updated to stock Nougat and installed TWRP, just reboot your phone and do a factory reset (this won't affect your personal data) and install the ROM.
I will get twrp when i get home and install your rom. Thanks a bunch!

I've already removed a few from the ROM, but I left the ones that I use regularly. You can remove any apps that you like by booting into TWRP, mounting your system partition and removing the app folders using TWRP's built in file manager. I will probably be uploading a seperate zip file containing all the debloated apps in case anyone wants to add any back.
