I have lost all my files in Phone storage, by mistake i have don a factory reset enabling format phone storage
Tried almost all post to recover data files. since my phone is loading as MTP in windows no recovery software is recogonising it.
Need help on this.
Is there an option to re enable USB mass storage ?. i tried almost all posts regarding this from XDA and other forum which didn't work for me.
is there any software which recognize MTP devices and recover data files?
All posts have suggestion like enable something. I need a real solution which work on HTC one X JB 4.2.2.
Somebody please help.
Are you able to use custom recovery?
Are you able to use fastboot/adb commands?
I suggest you download Phil'z recovery, and flash it through fastboot, then mount USB storage, copy your ROM to sd card, and then flash it, as you would ususally do.

Hi.
I reinstalled my Laptop and changed ROM in my Desire at the same time, and now I can't access my phone with a usb cable.
When I try to access the device is says it's not formated and wants to format it for me. But then I will loose all my files.
If I boot into Recovery mode and try to mount from there, all seems fine.
What do I need to do to make this work the usual way?
Edit:
Thread can me closed or deleted. Problem solved.
I updated clockworkmod recovery through rom manager. Rom manager said the install was successful. So then I boot into the recovery to flash the cyanogenmod 10 preview build. I do all my wipes data, cash, exe. Then I go to install the rom and I realize now with the new recovery I can’t install/restore anything from /extsdcard (external storage). It only has the option to install/restore from /sdcard (internal storeage) which would be fine except all my roms/backups are on my micro sdcard (external storage). I have already wiped everything so now I can’t boot my phone to fix it. Is there a way to install the old recovery after I have wiped everything. I was thinking about using Odin to flash the old recovery in download mode again (like I did when rooting) but I am not sure if this is ok to do. I tried mounting the internal storage to my pc to copy the files I need from my computer to my phone. When I plugged it in the box in the bottom right popped up and said installing drivers and they were successful but when I try mounting (anything) the computer does not recognize it. So I can’t transfer the files. Would someone who knows more than me give some advice please?

While youre in recovery, can you mount through the mounts and storage option? Im not on the recovery you are talking about but if you can mount it you can throw the rom on that way. If you cant do that you should be able to just boot up the rom thats currently on it and mount it that way. Just because you wiped everything doesnt mean that it wont boot up, it just cleared all of the data. It should load up with your previous rom.
Thank you very much. It gave me more insight on what was going on. I have my phone back up and working. I was able to flash the old recovery with odin and i hope this information will help someone else in future as well.

I wanted to flash a new ROM for my Nexus, but unfortunately like a fool i did System Format and SDCard Format AND CASH FORMAT everything, without taking any back up. Please help me. My pc is not recognizing my phone to atleast put the ROM into SDCARD. Somewhere i read i need to MOUNT USB Storage by gount to Mount & Storage..but I dont see such option itself when i get there. Please help asap.
You could try using WugFresh's Galaxy Nexus Toolkit. Use it to push a stock ROM from the stock rom thread. Then tell it to boot into a temporary recovery and use the recovery to flash the rom you pushed to the device.

you will never be able to mount the sdcard as there isnt one.
you need to use adb push to push a rom to the phone, OR fastboot back to stock. there are plenty of threads on both.
As i said in the title, i can't flash anything into device. I used to have cwm recovery but when i flashed SlimKat for Ace 2, it came with default TWRP and when i tried to flash another rom from external, i saw that there is no storage in the browser of TWRP. I can totally use the rom but wifi is not working, i can read and write the external or internal sd totally from rom's deafault explorer but i can't see anything in the TWRP--> Install but root files.
also my computer cant see my phone via USB,(my phone and usb drivers are up to date and USB Debugging is checked)
so Please help me thank you from now. sorry for my bad english.
I had similar issue and what I can suggest is to do the following (well... as long as you make the backup of your most valuable data) :
- reboot the phone into Odin mode
- flash stock JB firmware from Samsung
Then in my case after booting up the Samsung JB firmware I've put Cyanogenmod, root and CWM into the SD Card, rebooted to recovery and installed CM from scratch.
If anyone knows how this can be done different way - please share.
P.S. You can also try to go to the USB settings once you booted this SlimKat and try to mount the device as mass storage - then put the OS files from zip to INTERNAL SD (not the external SD) - but I did not try this.

i thouth the odin too but as i said my pc(and any other pc's) can't see my phone. when i connect the phone and start the odin, it doensn't make the green thing.
I though about starting the mobile in Odin mode (i.e. boot the mobile with Vol Down+Home+Power On) but I don't know if it is charging or not - you can always try
(I did not ment launching the windows Odin application).
My OP3 unlocked and TWRP flashed , internal storage formated to f2fs, when I tried to connect with PC not connected, adb devices - no response. Unable to connect with computer. No files in internal storage, Any other way to transfer files to internal memory?
OTG also not working.
You should be able to transfer files to the device with TWRP booted. It's how I clean flash my device. I booted into TWRP, wipe everything, reboot the device back into TWRP, then transfer the fresh files and flash.
I'm also pretty sure internal storage isn't one of the partitions you should format to f2fs. Last time I heard it's only data and cache you should do it for.

Try connecting the phone in bootloader mode.
If your phone is identified, you can flash recovery once again and proceed further.
Another option if phone is connected in fastboot would be to flash the image files with fastboot flash *** commands
As the previous poster said, internal storage would not be in f2fs. This is just a wild guess, but may be this is the reason it is not showing in windows? if you do not have anything stored, perhaps you can change the file system back to ext4 and check ?
Updating the drivers might also help....

Also did you mount the partition and enable mtp within TWRP?

Are the Adb drivers properly installed on your pc. If not than just search the threads for one plus drivers and then try to connect through ADB.
Do you have USB OTG cable.. You can connect that to device and transfer the files using TWRP file manager in Advanced options.
I just connected my op3 via USB cable and then adapter and to my Nexus 6 then I transferred files from there. No computer needed.
