Lg Optimus F180 Sensors not working - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello I have recently moved to android bought Lg-f180.
Well i tested everything and it was working fine except for the edge
I bought it and factory reset it
After that im encountering so many problems
Most strange is sometimes its sensonrs start working and sometimes they dont
I did a reset again and all sensors stopped working
Now few are working and few are not.
On AndroSensor few sensors are on "waiting for event"
The rom in this phone is not korean, its Vietnamese 4.1.2
It was pre installed
Is this a hardware fault or software?
What should i do?
Also on imei.info model is swift f180 (how do u know if its K,l or S?)
Regards,
Ahson Ali

Flash a F180 KDZ mate.

How do i know which model is it, f180k , f180l or f180s, any physical difference or any app that can tell me regardless of what rom is installed?
Where can I find the correct rom for this phone?
Any pre-requistes as in backing up something (efs or kernel)and how?
The whole procedure?
I have been looking for these answers in different forums for almost 10hrs now, can you please direct me somewhere i can get these answers scripted for begginers on android?
Regards

Thanks bro I did manage to flash stock rom easily, it did fix some senors but all the motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, linear acceleration and orientation) are not working!
anything else I should try before concluding its a hardware fault?

Try a hard reset. If it still occurs, better send to repair.

I've just noticed when battery went below 30% few more sensors stopped working and when i recharged and restarted it they were functional.
but no luck with motion sensors.
also I have noticed Bluetooth Mac Address is "unavailable" though its working just fine.
could this has to do something with kernel?

Hmmm. Then try any custom roms, like vanir or mokee, I have no problem with my sensors. If worse comes to worst, your phone is hardware bricked.

I have converted to E975 and now using CM11.
my sensors still showing same behaviour worked for a while then phone crashed on launching camera app and sensors stopped.
someone told me it could be kernel problem
what do you suggest, what kernel should I flash on cm11 (4.4.2)
or should I flash some other custom rom aswell?

Right now I have not tried CM 11, since I am running VANIR for geehrc. I suggest try it, then report back here. Do full wipes, then just flash the ROM and GAPPS. Don't flash a separate kernel. Then tell me what happens.

But a quick search on google for stock roms got me what I needed and and flash throw odin did the rest. But on more questions is flashing a custom rom just as easy. Or can I [email protected]# it up again and if I do F it up again can I just reflash it again as long as I can get it into download mod
It's very hard to break the phone unless you flash firmware from a different phone or something silly like that. So long as you can enter download mode you can pretty much recover from anything.

You could Flash any Custom Rom but you need to be rooted ,
So Root your device first , Dont forget to back up EFS
Install a custom recovery like TWRP ,
Make a backup ,
Start Flashing , Any time Bootloop you can restore from backup

You get screwed if ROM is not for your device, whether it is stock/custom. Once you have correct ROM, both are easy, even stock is more easy.

Reboots after Factory Reset

I have a LG Nitro HD, which I unbricked, rooted, etc, and upgraded to Cyanogenmod 10.1. Worked great, I ended up giving it to my friend. He gave it back to me the other day because his brother accidentally did a factory reset and it "DOESNT WORK" as he put it. So i tried doing setup manager and stuff and whenever i clicked a button, it froze and rebooted. I reflashed CM10.1, same thing. Flashed to PARANOIDANDROID, same thing. On the lockscreen, everything is fine. I can touch the screen and pull down notification center without any issue, but as soon as i unlock it and touch the screen, it locks up and reboots. It seems like it's allergic to my touch....any help would be greatly appreciated as he wants to sell it.
Thanks!

Also yeah I tried the 2945 code but it doesn't work in Cyanogenmod10, and after some digging, I found that it's best to unlock on the stock ROM anyways.

LG OPTIMUS G F180 L/K/S easy change to e975 custom rom

Hi Guys! Just sharing the mod that I learned while doing my best on localizing my phone to e975 from F180 K/L/S
Disclaimer: Follow this at your own risk, I am not responsible if your phone got bricked or what. This is the first time that I will write my own guide for changing the roms,
No need to change FW to e975
No need to update baseband since you will not loose your signal.
Just follow the steps I made.
1. make sure you are already on stock FW F180 K/L/S if not you can download if from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320817
2. Format your phone by turning it off first, press and hold volume down then press power button until format option shows up. Then press power button twice to initiate format of your phone.
3. Root your phone using this method (since this one works for me):
http://vulnfactory.org/public/motochopper.zip
3.1 Extract the entire contents of the zip file.
3.2 If you are using Windows, ensure you have installed the latest Samsung USB drivers available for your phone.
3.3 Ensure USB Debugging mode is enabled on your device.
3.4 Connect your device to your PC via USB.
3.5 If you are using Windows, navigate to the extracted directory and execute "run.bat". If you are using Linux or OS X, navigate to the extracted directory in a terminal and execute "./run.sh".
3.6 Approve the ADB connection from your PC on your device
NOTE: your phone will restart and make sure to open the superSU first to update the binary, if update failed,
download framaroot on google and transfer it from pc to your phone via USB.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
4. download FREEGEE on google play, make sure it will be allowed by SuperSU and unlock the device.
choose the CWM touch for the recovery on dropdown menu, wait till it is done.
5. download the latest version here on your pc:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=e975 - for custom ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387878 -GAPPS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312735 -Kite kernel
transfer it via USB to your phone.
6.turn off your phone, access the recovery menu by holding down the volume up button then press and hold power button 'till fastboot appears, press volume down button twice and then power button.
7. look for install from sd card, select option 1, look for the (rom name.zip) install it first before the GAPPS and the kernel.
8. If having error while updating (status 7) follow the steps here to resolve:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599
9. try to reinstall the modified rom, if success install kernel.zip and GAPPS.zip via recorvery, if not try to repeat step 8 and make sure that as you zip your file it is not inside a folder.
10. reboot your phone! if it takes 10 min while booting on new cyanogen mod, turn off the phone by holding the power button, access recovery again, format the phone, and cache as well.
11. reboot the phone! Enjoy your new E975 device!
CREDITS to all of the author of the threads I used!
Thanks to all of you guys!!!
Just comment and say thanks if it works for you!

Thanks for posting this. really helped a lot on rooting this phone. Since i get a lot of different approaches to root and flash roms on this phone, specially with the conversion from f180L to E975.
For those who get a status 6 on flashing. here's what i did to fix the issue. Edit update-script with notepad++ to see the special characters within the script. Here is the rest of the instruction thanks to illtown: "All you need to do is change the Windows newlines with the Unix ones. You can do it easily with Notepad++. So open the script, click the "Show All Characters" icon (you should see the newlines here), then navigate to "Edit-->EOL Conversion-->Convert to UNIX Format" and that's it. Finally, you should end up with single LFs. And don't forget about encoding, should be ANSI."

firstly u need to know what bands your phone supports OK? then u need to know what frequencies your operator broadcasts and using and check if is avaiable in your area
Please read;
The first picture is with official (korean) F180S firmware
shows that my phone ''MANUALLY'' searched all avail. networks in my area and as u can see found (specific) my 3 network broadcast L/W L is lte and W is WCDMA 234 20 is GSM (it is identification for specific my network http://wammu.eu/tools/networks/?country=234)
The second image is official (europe) E975 firmware
shows that phone ''MANUALLY'' searched all avail. networks in my area and as u can see phone didn't find 4G/LTE service only W L is missing .. so by converting korean mobiles with europe software we losing LTE/4G that is why all people facing this problem
I can't to connect to 4G/LTE right now bcos my operator wont't let me yet it is avail for testers and technicians bcos my operator launching 4G/LTE at the end of this month or next month .. they still postponing it ..

[Q] F180K modem is not compatible with E975 stock roms?

Hi. I found the MIUI 4.8.1 based on E975 20A Thailand firmware in Android development thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...-miui-v5-4-8-1-based-stock-lg-kitkat-t2839043
here is link.
I have F180K korean model. When I flash this rom, it successfully boot. But it says 'no service' and cannot find carrier.
How can I fix it? Any other roms which are based on E975 stock firmware like ARTMOD 4.1ST etc. is available to flash, but always communication error.

Stock rom use different ril library for different model, If you want to try you can replace /system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so with F180K Kitkat rom. And maybe /system/etc/telephony.xml. I'm not sure it'll work.
But what I did is compare all files from 2 roms and get all different file to make a patch. It works for my patch to change from Thai firmware to German. (I also change kernel but I don't think there are anything relate to mobile signal in it)
Thanx

Please try ARTMOD and edit sqlite table to make sure that it not my rom bugs. If that method is not work on that rom, maybe you miss something importance about F180K and e975 convertion. Maybe other F180 user can give your more info.
And if you can use logcat other member may help you verify what is error. Make sure that you enable use debug on phone.
adb logcat > debug.log
Or use catlog to show log on phone.
As i remember 2 years ago korean users, like me, had problems with the signal on roms different than korean stock.
I dont remember how exactly it was done, but the core action was to change provider checking mode from SIM/RUIM to NV/SIM/RUIM.
Or vice-versa, cause i dont remember that correctly lol.

Um... I see that NV setting in CDMA option in MIUI worldwide phone setting and I enable that selection in my rom next update. Not sure this will solve this signal problem or not.
@ruddnr951, Maybe you should play with LG hidden menu and see what difference between Mobile network default setting in e975 and F180 kdz.
Thank you for replying!

How's that wifi calling working on there, and AllShare is that working good for you, streaming music and movies to whatever device you want, mms over wifi working good for you too? Did CM win the lottery and buy some decent firmware for the camera so their roms can take good pictures? Ooooh that's right you are on cm12, all you can do is make phone calls (sometimes) and count all the things your phone doesn't do without buying something from the market.... I can't wait to try that awesome rom that doesn't do.........anything... :silly:

You need to install the new firmware with ODIN. The procedure is in the first post. Do a factory reset in recovery before booting into download mode, after backing up.

Your problem is the recovery is not jfltetmo. Make sure you change the recovery to twrp for jfltetmo, or flash a unified recovery for s4, then flash the rom again.
