[Q] Unroot GSIII - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Does anyone know if using the following will work with a rooted Sprint GSIII having taken the 4.3 OTA update running a custom ROM and having removed the Knox software??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904099
In download mode I do not have the Knox warranty void line...

Short answer...Do NOT flash that file. You'll have a fancy paperweight. You said you took the 4.3 OTA update meaning your custom rom and Knox apps removal has ZERO effect on the 4.3 KNOXED bootloader you have.
The 4.3 stock tar is here::[ROM][TAR] Stock MK3 Odin flashable
the md5 issue is resolved in that thread^^^

There is a good possibility that you might have gone through the same path as I did.
Basicaly was at 4.2.2 (MDL) and did a odin with newest firmware. Without knowing the evil
nature of the new firmware. So I'm at MK2, and that resulted in some sort of no sound situation.
So, I am unable to downgrade to MDL firmware either. But I can goto 4.2.2 with MK2 and stil have semi-bricked phone.
No calls can be made .

Why not simply odin flash the mdl 4.2.2 modem.bin and the mdl non-hlos.bin.
That way you will no longer have audio/sound or calling issues.
Here is the direct download link: http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00044/fA5/Modem_UVUAMDL.zip
Unzip the file and you will find a TAR for Odin.
Inside the tar there are 2 files, mdl modem.bin and mdl non-hlos.bin.
The reason you have the issue you describe is because when you flashed mk2
firmware which had the mk2 non-hlos.bin in it which causes the audio failure
and the calling and receiving calls issues.
Good luck!

I tried this and din't work. I thought this is only for MDL boot loaders as mentioned by some.
I may be wrong.

[Q] Unroot and restore factory Android OS

I was watching a video online on how to flash back to stock, and that brought me to this forum, and the topic of Quick Return to UNROOTED STOCK WITH FLASH COUNT RESET
I was going to download that .zip file but then I saw the warning DO NOT FLASH THIS IF YOU HAVE UPDATED TO MK3 (4.3)
What 4.3 is it referring to? The stock 4.3 that Samsung pushed out recently?
Yes, the stock 4.3 update

So is there a way to unroot the 4.3? I used CF Auto Root but now need to unroot or reflash a stock ROM. Is this possible with 4.3 and Knox?

[Q] Going to Stock then OTA then root

Hi All,
In ATT S3 i was in 4.1.2 stock. Later rooted and tried various rooms for the past several months. right now using Quantum 3.15.
Having a question on doing 4.3 update in stock.
1. Is there any benefits doing so ?
Steps i think i need to do. Please correct if im wrong.
1. Use odin and go to 4.1.2 then with Kies update to 4.3
2. Root
3. Use quantum or any other custom roms.
Is there any drawback in doing it.
Installing a 4.3 OTA update will install Knox. If you trip the Knox counter, your warranty will become void.
De-bricking with the 4.3 bootloader becomes more difficult in my opinion because you can't just use Odin to flash back to stock 4.1.1 or 4.1.2.
Some XDA members have also had difficulty rooting a stock 4.3 ROM.

[q] urgent!: Need to reset!

My friend has a Galaxy S4 on T-Mobile.
It has the Knox Counter set to 0x1.
It is currently on CM11, and I have TWRP installed, but apparently he cannot receive texts...
I tried restoring to the MDL firmware with Odin but it failed... I think because of the boot loader. I tried installing a 4.2.2 ROM but it was boot looping at the T-Mobile screen.
I have 1 hour tomorrow with him to fix it -- I just want to restore it to a Samsung Stock ROM (just downloaded the 4.4.2 Deodexed KitKat ROM).
How can I restore this phone to a 100% working Samsung Stock ROM? I don't care if it is a rooted ROM. I just need texts, calls, etc. 100% working and I need it to be a TouchWiz ROM. Thanks!
EDIT: I also found this list of firmwares: if I should try again with ODIN with the right firmware, which one should i be flashing?
If he just mainly wants stock and already has knox tripped just flash the newest odin image for the device.
You can use this one that Fenny posted.
http://www.cheatersedge.org/android/m919/M919UVUFNB4_M919TMBFNB4_TMB_FENNY_FIXED.zip
If you can still get into recovery you can flash the custom stock rom from Fenny or the Sickness. Both work really well.
The one from the sickness seems to have more of a stock feel though.

Do you have the full stock version of 4.3 or the modified (unrooted) version? You can check your phone's settings and build number to see if it's MJB or MJ2. You can try unrooting from the SuperSU app. The definitive solution to unrooting is indeed to flash a complete stock image. An Odin flashable *.tar file was recently developed. There have, however, been reports on outcome. You can flash custom recovery to your phone (either of CWM or TWRP) and use the instructions in the thread below to download and flash a complete stock restore.
