People that use a qi car charger/ mount.....
Now i have a normal qi charger and it warms the phone a little when charging which is expected.
And in past experience on phones using Google Maps to navigate makes your phone hot hot hot
So does anyone regularly use both together? Qi and navigation? If so what's the phone temps like?

Hot battery
Tried this today in the car and i got 113°f using qi charger and maps. Very hot!
Thanks, that what I was wondering, i dunno whether to buy a qi car charger because of this :-S

You really need an active cooling solution when you are using QI charge plus the GPS function. One of the solution is to use the fan from the air vent of your car if you do not use warm air con.

I'm using a 2 amp car charger and the phone gets very hot (front screen, top portion of the phone) when charging. I'm not using the phone at all.
I don't charge in the car often but Is this normal? It does not get very hot (not even warm) using my 2 amp wall charger at home.

No it isn't normal. I would say that if you don't notice the heat whilst charging on the wall charger, then there's got to be something wrong with the charger.

Just wanted to ask those using Qi chargers to charge their phones, if the N5 gets hot when charging.
I have my N5 charging on a no-brand Qi charger and it gets quite warm. Is this normal?
I don't remember my N4 getting so warm though.
using the Nokia charging plate. gets a bit warm but no more than the standard way of charging.

I am using LG WCP-700. First time I tried yesterday it's heating up quite a bit to ~50F... I was using an audio playback app through bluetooth. Today, it's charging without much warming up... It's idling (not running anything), not sure if that's the issue. Weird.
I am getting a couple Nokia charging plates in the mail soon, will see how well that works.
I think my phones get hotter when not well aligned with charger. Using nexus orb.

I have both the Nokia DT-900 and the LG WCP-300.
They both get warm, but not hot. Same as my standard OEM chargers. The WCP-300 get slightly warmer, but it is also delivering more power.
Using a Nokia plate my phone barely gets warm, about average for any charge.

I just got mine in the mail. It's incredibly fast to charge, but very frustrating to find the right spot to charge on the N7. Anyone else?
I got one yesterday and was disappointed to find out it doesnt work with the poetic slimline. and yes it is harder to find the right spot compared to the nokia dt 900

I thought that it used magnets to locate the "spot".
Yes same issues here too!

I'm using the Nokia charger because I have a few of them around the house and I find it works great even with the poetic slim cover on.
Way easier to find sweet spot on my hammerhead... But still works pretty well.

It doesn't work with Poetic Slimline? Cancelling my order right way...Thanks.
Mine makes a relatively loud noise when it isn't charging anything. The noise seems to be coming from the plug part.

What's the output on these chargers? I am considering one for my N7 for a car install since otg+charging seems to be a ways off. I like the idea of the magnets which would make installation into a dashboard cubby in a Mazda 6 a piece of cake, just as long a it can provide sufficient amps to charge while the screen is on. Any feedback on this function would be appreciated!

The magnets are pretty strong on the N5, but not on the N7. I have doubts about it being able to work in a moving car. I've noticed it has to lay against the charger perfectly flat (full contact) or it won't charge. If you're going to try for a car install, then you may have better luck with a carriage and a third party Qi charger.
So far the only impressive thing (besides the charging speed) is the micro-suction pad it uses on the bottom. That sucker grips!

The dashboard in my Speed6 has a cubby/glovebox where the SatNav would be as an added option. It's a perfect place for tablet integration and I've seen others succeed. Securing the N7 should be pretty easy and I think with a piece of plexiglass/hobby board for the wireless charger to stick to it could be a very convienent addition particularly with keeping the N7 portable as opposed to plugging in the charger everytime I plan on using the tablet especially if I want to use an OTG cable with a thumb drive/microSD.

It's worth a shot. The N7's size makes it awkward to balance (IMO) since the charger itself is small.
Sweet spot.
Has anyone found the sweet spot to get N7 (2013) to charge on the Google wireless charger yet?
are the magnets in the charger enough to hold the nexus 7 in place? or is it easily knocked off?
Without a case the magnets may be strong enough to hold it in place. I've found mine is very fussy about the charger it is paired with. The supplied charger works fine but a few others I have tried refuse to work with it.

very luxury item, i like this
Just got this wireless charger....it works well without a case, but doesn't work with my DeviceWear case. Disappointing, but I guess not surprising.
I find when using this charger I lay it down and slide it around until the magnets feel the strongest, almost like it locks in.. Works every time.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
That method works well without a case fitted, unfortunately with a case fitted the magnets are too weak to lock on in the sweet spot.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I have the official google wireless charger and have no problems finding the sweet spot anymore! When I first got it I had issues but now that I'm more accustomed to it its pretty easy! I just set the exact center of the tablet on the charger and if I miss by an inch or so the magnets drag it into the correct position! Quite nice indeed! I don't use a case though so I'm sure that's a decent factor if you use one. It chargers quite fast as well!

If so... Opinions please?

I have that mount since yesterday.
I have one major issue with it, it is a huge interference for my FM radio. When the phone is charging, I only get static on the radio, the automatic frequency scanner cannot even find a radio station.
For the rest it works quite well, it charges at about the same rate as my normal wired car charger.
The mount is a bit wobbly so not super stable, but it is not too bad.
had this since christmas. so far not too bad. it wobbles a little more than i would like. ive been used to ibolt mounts which are pretty solid but this one isnt too bad. my main concern was whether it would actually charge the phone with nav running and so far it has
so far i would say its been a good choice.

That's the charger socket giving feedback, does it do the same with a normal in car charger?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I have the same issue; I can barely get FM radio stations when I have the charger plugged in. I am using it in a 2012 Ford Escape. Using a regular car charger I get FM stations fine.
Suction cup is worthless for mounting on the dash. I actually have an iottie clipped to that one.
Charging works great. No problems with radio for me at all. However, I use an ac plug in my car for power, not the included adapter.

Then it must be the charger causing feedback, so maybe I should go for a different charger just in case
If you know what you're doing you can try giving the charger socket in the car a direct earth to the chassis/metal earth point and see if it helps

This charger is also sold Yabo Technology on Amazon under the CHOETECH brand name:

Got mine today. Cradle is easy to set up, wireless charging works great. Using the vent mount which doesn't work so well in my car, but I'll be trying a few mods to tighten that up.
I use the original Car Home apk to switch to car mode when my phone automatically connects to my Motorola Roadster, and Tasker with Secure Settings to set the screen to stay on while charging (and connected to the Roadster). So I just drop my phone in the cradle when I get in the car and I'm good to go! No more worrying about whether my battery will last when on a long drive.
Just recevied my wireless charger today from my local online store.
Pretty small in size but it working great so far. Charging time is a little slower than the cable charging but I like the idea of just placing my phone down on the pad and it start charge. I don't mind about how fast or how slow it charge as long as it sit there and charging rather than sitting there and do nothing but discharging..
I'd went about one cycle of full charged with this unit and there's no problem of overheating or other sort of abnormality.. So I'm pretty impressed how easy it is now. I have it sit on my office table and forget about plugging and unplugging the charger cable whenever I need to use the phone.

Not suitable for adding magnets too as appears to have ferrous internal that surface magnets attract to
Solid device though, hard to open up
Blue led is annoying as flashes while charging, not good for night stand charger!

Wireless charging is one of the best things to ever happen to my phone, seriously. No more messing with cables on my desk every time I need to check my texts or whatever.
