I've read some of the other forums and I am still not clear on this.
My questions is would installing r800a firmware on my r800at make it available to work beyond just on the att network. The bootloader is unlocked (via payed xda member) and I am selling my phone on ebay....I would prefer it to be "as open" as possible when I sells.
Thanks in advance

I have Arc LT15a from Rogers Canada (fw 3.0.1.A.0.145) and want to upgrade to the newest fw 4.0.A.2.368- however, it is available only for LT15i.
If I simply flash the firmware, will my phone work?
(I know the difference between LT15a and i is in frequencies, but they might be entirely hw based- the fw maybe doesn't even "know" what frequencies it is using)
Thanks!
It works fine I just put the new one using the xda flasher tool works great slot faster you have to manually add the apn but I love it so far. You can find the rogers apn info but if you need it I will post it

it works..
Build 4.0 on my Rogers arc.
You can flash any v2.x firmware onto any phone. The firmwares contain both (software) radios for i and a.
However, flashing an "i" firmware onto an "a" phone will NOT give you "i" frequency 3G support and vice versa ("a" firmware on an "i" phone will NOT give you "a" frequency 3G support).
The HARDWARE radios are fixed.
It also doesn't unlock your phone (buy an unlock code) nor does it re-lock a SIM/network unlocked phone (unlocking in once and permanent).
LT15a update 4.0.A.2.368 ad hoc?
Hello everyone.
Does the 4.0.A.2.368 FW comes with Ad Hoc support? or is it just a urban legend?
I am really trying to get ad hoc support for my Xperia Arc. I have already checked around and didn't find any "success" story..
I tried myself with 4 different wpa_supplicants from around the forums.. for android 2.3.3 (my current version)... I was hoping they will work.. but nothing... most of them don't work at all (either the Wi Fi doesn't scan or the phone crashes completely )
I also read a post saying that CM7.1.0 - FXP045 has ad hoc support can anyone confirm this? what about the other functions? given the comments I read on its thread it seems to be rather bugsome...
I also found out this thread for X10
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253087
I will either try that X10 solution to see if it works for ARC ... or go for the update to 4.0.A.2.368 if it has Ad Hoc support already..
I have a Xperia Arc (LT15a) Rogers Branded - rooted - 2.3.3 - 3.0.1.A.0.145
Any help would be great!.. Thanks a lot.
Hi, iam new to all this but can some one please help me whith unlocking and rooting my sony arc lt15a. I live in australia the phone is not locked to any carrier i bought it from the usa becuase it had the umts 850 frequencie for the telstra carrier here. My reasons for unlocking are to get rid of all the sony things and some preinstalled apps and have access to other things. If you put generic software on there what are the differences also can you tell me will any thing be diiferent to not rooting. Thank you.

I can find the page on amazon to help you, but only to be sure - can you post a link to page where you found the phone?
If your phone have
T-mobile startup - is branded to t-mobile
Vip startup - is branded to VIP
Also with sounds, if you have sounds from some network provider it is branded to them.
if your phone have only SE STARTUP - is unlocked and sim free (non branded)
----------
Also you can debrand your phone with flashing it with GENERIC WORLD files
T-Mobile hasn't a different bootanimation, just look for operator specific apps.

Hi there
I recently purchase a Xperia Arc from Bouygues Telecom in France.
I tried to unlock the bootloader using Sony Ericsson method at unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com
But when i type *#*#7378423#*#* to show configuration it says "Bootloader unlock allowed : No "
So it looks like i'm a little stuck.
Do i need seTools ?
Do you think this works : phoneunlockserver.com/product_info.php/products_id/1684
Does this thread really works ?:
se-board.com/index.php/topic/2023-paid-xperia-2011-bootloader-unlock-here
Sorry for the links but Xda doesn't want me to post them as Url cause they consider me as being a newbie ....
Anyway , I have no problem paying for this phone to be unlocked. Actually Bouygues Telecom ROM has some limitations comparing to the stock one i think ( some apps are not available on the market like Google Music for example).
I just want to know what is the best and most secure method
Thank you
First of all, I couldn't find a Xperia Pro forums and so I posted here. After all, I've seen a lot of Xperia Pro talk in the Arc forum.
I have a locked, but rooted Fido Xperia Pro which I've been wanting to unlock for a while now. Will the testpoint method work with S1Tool for free? I don't want to try it because of the hassle, hope someone can confirm it for me. If not, is there a free way to unlock the bootloader on a locked Xperia Pro?
First type *#*#7378423#*#* ie *#*#service#*#* actually ,go to service info then configuration see bl unlock allowed if yes you can unlock it free from sony official site many tutorials are on xda too search them eg in xperia play forum it will work on your phone too and if no you'll have to pay for it for that contact alejandrissimo
