I came across this tempered glass screen protector from Orzly on Amazon UK. It costs less than £6 delivered.
Edit - price has now gone up

Orzly accessories get pretty good reviews and their tempered glass screen protector for the Nexus 5 was generally recommended on XDA before the price went up. Definitely worth a try at this price.
Looks like Nillkin now do one for £9.99 delivered. I have a Nillkin tempered glass protector on my Nexus 5 and it's great

It's a shame they don't ship to other countries than UK, I think. (at least, they don't ship to Portugal)

Doesn't that tempered glass screen protector defeat the purpose of the glass screen and a screen protector? I would think by doubling the screen's thickness (essentially), you'd be making it harder thus easier to break on a drop. As for scratching, I'm not sure why people are so worried, it's Gorilla Glass 3. Having owned several GG products, it is very very herd to scratch the screen unless you plan on carrying sharp stones with your phone in your pocket while you are doing jumping jacks.

Yes, there are sellers who are shipping to the USA but the shipment times are 15-25 days. I am looking for someone in the USA.

The tempered glass has a silicone adhesive on the backside of it that also acts as a buffer. And direct impacts that would normally break the screen are completely absorbed by the glass protector and it breaks instead. PET or other plastic screen protectors only prevent scratches. I would rather replace a 10-15$ screen protector than a 100$ screen.
Anyone knows a seller who ships to Europe?
Edit; How about this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/0-3mm-Premi...l_Phone_Screen_Protectors&hash=item54037fc8a0
Got mine today, ordered before the amazon price went up... Ive never used a glass screen protector before and didn't realise how bad plastic ones are.
It's a perfect fit, other that one spec of dust about 2mm from the edge you'd never know there was a screen protector on!
No camera or senior holes, just a speaker hole, but everything seems to work just fine.

I've been treating my moto g like a baby and having it as sole item in my pocket and it has micro scratches that you can see in bright sunlight. I've also seen a galaxy note 3 (gorilla glass 3) from a Samsung rep with an awfully scratched screen (admittedly in his pocket with keys)

I've written a review which should be up on Amazon within 48h. Basically I'll never buy another plastic screen protector again, this glass one is great for £9.99.
The clarity is fantastic, the feel is better than the original (imo) and the only disadvantage is the lack of cut outs for the camera.
Its also really easy to use swype or other similar keybaords now because my thumb doesn't stick.
I have found this Flexible Glass that might be intersted but it is a little expensive.
http://swiss-case.com/collections/by-device/moto-g/truglass-flexible-glass-for-moto-g.html
Anyone have any links to the Orzly one that has stock/is not being sold at an extortionate rate? Not willing to may £13 when I know it was available for £6 in the past.
Got the glass one in from hong Kong. Came extremely well packed and got it installed in about a minute.
It fits the phone perfectly and feels much better than then plastic protector that I had on the phone before hand. I am still trying to decide if it has made the touch screen less responsive, but I believe that it is more than worth it.
Any additional questions just let me know.

I think iLoome have even thinner ones that are flexible but looks the 9H hardness.
Just saw the price on Spigen UK's site: £40. Wow. A little too steep for a screen protector isn't it?
Pre-ordered mine a week or so ago on amazon, just shipped via USPS today, I'll post a review when it gets here. :good:
I have replacement's coming for both. Haven't heard anything recently from spigen to say if it shipped or not. I'll give them until Dec 1 or so before I start hounding them. My original.t is still doing decent duty. IT was perfect until my grandson was wrestling with me last weekend and chipped the edge in 3 places. LOL
I'm not sure I get glass protectors anymore. I used to be a die-hard convert (I wouldn't even use the phone or pull off the factory cover until I had my protector ready) - but with gorilla glass being so resilient, unless you've got an extreme case they seem unnecessary and sometimes interfere (yellowing, distorted vision if you use polarized sunglasses, etc).
The issue really is that these are edge-to-edge so if you drop it, even with one of these on you won't prevent a crack (unless the fall is perfectly level) regardless of the hardness rating. It's the corners and sides you want to protect.

Dan, it's the smoothness/feel of glass that we adore while still protecting the original screen. If you don't care about the feel you might as well get a $10 screen protector.
If I accidentally put my phone in my keys pocket or slide the phone face down on a rough surface I'd rather easily replace a $30-$40 screen protector than spending a considerable amount of money to replace the panel/glass.

Don't get me wrong - I totally understand the appeal of glass, both in terms of clarity and feel, over some kind of plastic cover. My point is simply that the GG3 is *much* stronger / resilient than any kind of cover (to the point that dragging my keys or any "normal" situation wouldn't cause it issue) and that the cover, no matter what tensile properties, will never prevent cracking of the glass if the phone is dropped. Additionally, given that LG has finally figured out that separating the digitizer from the glass (a la iPhone) means that instead of paying $200 every time you crack the glass (as I have done, unfortunately, 4 times on my N4) - instead the phone works fine with cracked glass and eventually the glass prices should fall to something on the order of $30-40 installed. This is including the markup that the company I used to fix my N4 quoted me (e.g. retail pricing).
At that price point, why would you install a weaker, less efficient, optically distorting (all optical layers added on cause distortion, trust me I have a high level academic b/g in this field) when for the same price (or less if you're as prone to dropping your phone as I am) - you can have the glass replaced by the factory item for the same price or less? Plus the factory glass feels the best and has the most desirable features (oliophobic, hydrophobic, higher tensility, etc.) - no question.

GG3 is strong, but it's still glass - I always find these demos with keys and knives kind of strange, because metals are typically softer than glass. The problem with any glass is - if you have your phone in your pocket with just a few grains of sand - you will get scratches - even on the Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass is hardened to prevent shattering and scratch-resistant, but not scratch-proof. So, yes I think glass protector is a great idea.
I've been looking into the issues people had with bubbles forming on their Nexus 5 - and then I noticed that my Nexus 5, has a slight imperfection, almost like a slight dimple on the bottom of the glass, near the notification LED. It's really hard to see and I only noticed it by accident when I had the phone laying on the window sill and saw slightly distorted reflection of trees outside. I am wondering if people with bubble problem are in fact suffering from similar imperfection on the Nexus's glass preventing complete adhesion.

This is exactly the issue. There is a slight deformity in the flatness of the Nexus 5 glass surface in that area (bottom right on the bezel), a barely perceptible depression.
The current Spigen glass protectors are just too thick/stiff to accommodate this variation in flatness on the Nexus 5 screen. The result is a "bubble" under the protector.
I am guessing the Nano, being thinner and hopefully more compliant, will adhere properly to the Nexus 5 surface. Maybe a more aggressive adhesive could help here too?
I'm holding off until I see some user reviews. Also, still waiting for my Spigen refund!

I bought one off ebay not too long ago. Anyway, its a quality tempered glass screen protector. Scratch free and no touch issues whatsoever. Long story short, for the most part they are most likely all the same.
Here's the one I purchased :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Premium...l_Phone_Screen_Protectors&hash=item565ffcf158
Did yours match the size of the screen exactly? I bought one off ebay a few months ago, and it works fine but it's about 1mm shorter than the black area. I've sent mine in for the pink camera noise issue, and if I get it back with a bare screen I'd like to replace it with one that fits.
size
It's normal, that the protector is slightly smaller than the acutal screen. If they were spot on the same size, it would be almost impossible to put the protector on, without any air bubbles underneath it.
Brando Rounded Tempered Glass protector
I've had this... http://shop.brando.com/Brando-Works...Rounded-Edition-HTC-One-_p09083c1531d008.html on my phone for about 9 months. Not a mark on it and fits perfectly.
Bit more expensive than some, but it's 9H glass (Diamond is 10H!) & just watch the videos... They have a go at it with knives & a drill! (I've tried a knife myself ... Not a scratch!)
Worth a bit extra cash in my opinion.

I have the MIME ghost glass protector and love it! Does not have that sticky feel that PET protectors have, I'd never go back to plastic again.
http://mimeusa.com/product/htc-one-ghost-glass-tempered-glass-screen-protector/
Well, my One is back and the screen is nakies so it's time for a new screen protector. They must have replaced the screen, since it had a tiny hairline scratch when I sent it in and it's gone so I can't complain too much. Hopefully the new screen protector fits better than the last.
Mime Feather on mine and I love it.
Covers the screen perfectly and I had no trouble installing it. The only way you know it's there is because it's slightly raised above the phone (0.15mm, they say).
The iloome Flex is pretty good, I have one myself. It's easy to install, because it's flexible unlike other glass screen protectors and they also give you some tape if you want to use the hinge method. It's pretty hard (8H) and thin too.
revised review, now very negative about Mime

I have to revise my opinion of Mime and their products after having gone through 3 of them on the same phone.
1. The first one felt great initially. But it scratched much too easily for it to be 9H, so I am going to have to call BS on their hardness claim.
Mime offered to send me a new one and did after about a month.
2. The second one did not stick correctly, even though I installed it in exactly the same manner as the first one.
Mime offered to send me a new one, but they were out of stock in both Ghost Glass and Feather for this phone (M7). After several weeks, the Feather was finally available again but the discount code they sent did not work and there was a further delay while Mime sorted that out. Also the Feather model cost more so I had to pay an extra $3 US plus the coupon.
3. The unit I received after ordering the Feather did not appear to be glass. It was flexible and felt, looked and scratched just like a cheap plastic screen protector. I patiently waited because I assumed this was an interim unit to hold me over until the glass ones became available again. But when I contacted Mime they assured me that was the Feather and that Mime does not stock any plastic at all to fit the M7. So apparently the Feather is no better than plastic, but costs $30 US apiece shipped.
So I asked for a refund. Mime asked me to ship it back, which I did.
Mime received it 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from them despite multiple emails.
Terribly slow customer service all around, the products are ridiculously overpriced, I definitely would not buy again.
I apologize to anyone that bought Mime products after reading my review because my opinion of Mime and their products has certainly changed since then.
Initial quality felt good, but they do not last long enough to warrant the high price and the after sale support is also not worth the price.
I could have bought 6 of the Chinese cheapie tempered glass screen protectors + shipping and still had 5 left as I am still on the 1st one vs 3 Mime duds. This is what I have done on my S5 and it was better quality than the Mime for $4.
Don't waste your money on Mime.
initial observation is below:
I also use the Mime Ghost Glass and I really like it.
It measures .32mm. You can tell it's there if you are looking for it, but so far everyone I hand my phone to has not noticed it.
Mime also makes the Feather model, as mentioned by someone else, which measures .15mm thickness. I would have probably bought that if I had seen it before I bought the Ghost Glass. They are both rated at 9H hardness, but theoretically the thicker one should offer more protection.

Just ordered the one you suggested for $6.85. It's my first ever glass screen protector, hoping it will be a fun experience. From reviews on amazon, and I belive the one on ebay that the seller is selling, is the one made by PThink, judging from the same photos. The only complaint on the cheaper ones are that sometimes the edges don't seal down the the screen, and can cause bubbles. Still, I am excited.
Here is the link once again to buy, and at time of purchase is only $6.85 with free shipping.

I'm using Mime Feather model, very happy with it, and they have excellent customer service. Word of caution though, if you're planning to use it with HTC's Double Down case it won't work, that case presses on the edges of Mime glass and causes it to rise along the edges.

I've got UAG + Mime feather. Works great though a couple of days ago I actually chipped the edge of the feather glass and my phone. But that's because I'm an idiot and keep my keys+keyring-multitool and phone in the same pocket (hence why I have a case and protector)
Hi,
I've had a Nillkin glass screen protector on for a few months, and the glass has slowly started to lose its sticky around the corners and keeps air bubbles all the time. It's also got a slight chip on one of the edges.
So I'm looking for a replacement, preferably one that doesn't have a cut out for the light sensor.
I don't particularly want to pay £30 for a spigen one, especially if it goes the same way after a couple of months. So I'm looking for around £15/$20. At the moment I'm looking at the Glass-M one, but would appreciate some other recommendations? Ideally one available in the uk that I don't have to import from the states or HK.
Thanks

I can recommend the Glass-M 0.15mm glass. Great fit and feels great on being so thin. I purchased from a Hong Kong seller on eBay for £9.50 delivered and delivery was only 1 week or thereabouts.
thanks
Thanks for the links =)
I was looking for a Nillkin tempered glass because it's way cheaper than Spigen, but then, after reading some reviews about webs spider and other issues, I decided to buy the glass-m 0.15mm for a few more bucks.
I am very happy with my choice, it's perfect
Well, im looking for one glass too... I have been looking for the shield armor one (or something like that, I don't remember the name of it) I see many reviews and looks like works very good on the iPhone... I don't know if buy it or no (25$), what you say?

Thanks for the replies - can I just confirm the GlassM one doesn't have the cut-out for the light sensor?
Also, would the thinness of this not go against any additional protection from dropping that the glass ones tend to offer?

The Glass-M only has a cut out for the earpiece.
With regard to drop protection. I don't think there will be much in it. A serious drop on any glass protector will break it I believe. Its mainly for scuff and scratch protection. I went for the thin 0.15mm option because I wanted the phone to be as close to naked as possible.

I'm more thinking about the screen underneath the protector. Although not guaranteed, the "extra protection" offered by a glass protector is one of the draws for me.

I'm not sure a glass protector will protect much against a drop onto a concrete or hard surface from height. I think it all depends on how it lands, the glass protector will protect against scratches and scuffs should it survive the impact from the fall.
I'll tell you which one NOT to buy.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400653222919?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The cutouts are on the wrong side of the screen protector. It would have fit perfectly if it werent for this issue. The adhesive side has both cutouts on the wrong side of the protector, its like it was made backwards. Seemed good quality for 8 bucks but its unusable.
As this thread is dedicated to glass screen protectors, does anyone use a glass screen pro with a tpu case?
I'm tempted by the iloome flex but unsure if my case will case the protector to raise at the edges
I'm using the Anker glass screen protector - it feels better than the stock screen and when the coating rubs off or it gets broken/scratched you can replace it with another one for around £12. I've already had the stock Nexus 5 screen coating rub off.
No drop in image quality at all. I really wasn't sure about it but there is no downside to it.
It works perfectly well with my Nexus 5 Cruzerlite TPU Case (A2) and the combination means the phone is pretty much bullet proof whilst still being slim and lightweight.

As this thread is dedicated to glass screen protectors, does anyone use a glass screen pro with a tpu case?
I'm tempted by the iloome flex but unsure if my case will case the protector to raise at the edges

I've been using the MIME Feather with the Diztronic TPU case for a couple of months now. I've had zero issues with this combination.
I just bought an LG G3 smartphone (going for Android) and just like in my previous phone iPhone 5 i used the Spigen Screen protector I bought from Amazon, but now with LG G3 i'm looking for a different brand, any idea if what is the best screen protector for the LG G3? I found this and bought with easy installation dubbed smart film, so far so good love it!
MOD EDIT: Link removed. Affiliate links are not permitted
But I'm looking for other alternatives for a screen protector, my wife is planning to buy one also, any suggestions?
Here are my qualifications
Should be easy to install (no water spray installation please)
will not turn yellow
bubble free
and of course it cost less

Why not stick with Spigen?
Bubbles only occur if there is dust or particle underneath. I've installed multiple screen protectors flawlessly. If there are bubbles caused by particles, I just use scotch tape and remove it.
Yellowing is very rare. Most standard screen protectors don't use water. It uses static to cling to screen. Only those "shield" require water and even those aren't smooth or clear.
It seems people are into tempered glass now. I just ordered 2 (one for me and the other for wife). I won't get my phone until Saturday. So I'll have the tempered glass and case before I'll have phone.
i am using momax glass sp...very good as it prevent lot of finger prints and smudges

I bought mine off eBay. Haven't received it yet so i havent tried it. And as I mentioned, I won't have my phone until Saturday when I'm eligible for upgrade. Bought it from seller impressgifts.
iCarez is another brand that I heard was good. Was going to get them but wanted to build up my eBay bucks

I got the Skinomi glass protector:
http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi-Tech-...TF8&qid=1406120489&sr=1-1&keywords=g3+skinomi
I had one for my G2 as well. I didn't notice the iCare one; it seems to be half the price, and seem identical from what I can see. You can't even tell it is on, it never scratches (I problem with the plastic films, you eventually get nicks, etc). I had no problems with knock on/off or sensitivity (it has the appropriate cutouts - earlier versions of the G2 one didn't and that caused problems, IIRC). Great investment, you'll likely never need another protector (I had to replace my Spigens every few months on other phones).
For the price difference between the Skinomi and iCare: not sure why. I know if the Skinomi comes with a an alcohol swab and microfiber cloth as well as a large screen-sized sticker for pulling off any dust right before you put on the glass. Not sure if the iCare comes with those, but they were handy. Not sure if they were $6 handy...
I never had an issue with regular screen protectors. I put them on my phones and they last for the 2 years+ until I get a new phone.
Most I paid for the flimsy screen protectors is probably $15 for a 2 pack from reputable brands. This is my first time buying a tempered glass. This may make me buy tempered glass for all my phones in the future.
I bought that same ICarez one a few day ago and to be honest Im happy with my purchase. Its a good fit, no too thick and doesnt effect the screen sensitivity too much. As for fingerprints its the same as the actual screen glass ie fingerprints do get on it but wipe off very easily.
thinking about trying this

Maybe it's cliche but I got the Zagg HD put on mine and it's spot on. The fact that it self-heals is a big help. I also kinda like the slight grip.
I have the Spigen tempered glass on mines. Flawless! I got lucky and lined it perfectly on the first try. It also doesn't bubble up with any case on. The only con is that it's quite expensive, but it performs as advertised so I'm satisfied with it.

yes I guess I have to switch to tempered glass protectors than the usual plastic protectors
I switched from Spigen (plastic) to an iCarez tempered glass. Very, very happy with the results. I had issues with fingerprints with the Spigen, and the tempered glass just feels better.

you got the regular icarez? .33mm? mind putting a picture? thanks
Yes I got the .33 mm Icarez and I tried taking pictures but you really cant see anything in them. Its just basically a glass over it nothing really to see but il post what I can
I ended up buying the tempered glass from the Verizon store (didn't wanna change my phone while I waited for one).
Plays well with my otter box after removing built in screen pro, and my ballistic. Can't even tell it's there. .
Not to mention I seen someone drop a 15lb weight on their phone, and just the tempered broke. Your results may vary, just passing it along.

Finally went live on Amazon. $6.99 for a pack of 4. These are my favorite mainstream screen protectors. My favorite isn't sold for many phones. Power support makes one helluva slippery screen protector and they are more scratch resistant than these. But they usually cost 2 for $20-25, or $15 if you get them on sale but as me times before power support isn't sold for many phones. So I get the Korean made Ringke and use rain x to add some slip to it and rain beads off faster to boot.
Does it fully cover the glass?
I don't know yet. From pictures looks like it covers more than the screen, but not all the way to the curved edges. And of course cut out for ffc and the sensors next to it. I'm buying 2 packs anyways. These are probably the best bet for now.
Please post pictures, I have gone through different screen protectors orders and so far none has worked, either leaving the protector off in the curved part or leaving a huge gap unprotected.
PS: don't buy the Fosmon
i just bought the tempered glass screen protector from ringke through amazon, the quality is really bad. The size doesn't fit at all, bubble on both sides and top. it is really bad design.

if you had seen the review made by someone in amazon you would have seen that he put 1 star and specified why >>> reason, it leaves develop halos on the edges. That's why i bought one that has no review whatsoever, i bought it on ebay though.

That review was put up less than a few hours ago.
I'm pretty sure if a company comes out with a tempered glass protector that conforms to the edges we are going to have pay a premium. Probably upwards of $30 or more. I might get the Ringke glass anyways to try. Edge lift only bothers me a little bit. I would like to try dingle's brand anyways and see the quality of glass. How slippery it is and if it is real glass or that fake plastic ****. I know probably after a week or so I'd pull it off after the dust that gets under the edges drive me crazy but it's worth it to try ringke's quality on glass anyways. I know their film is pretty good.

aaa i see i see, sorry about that lol. It was been talked in the other tempered glass thread and i only saw the review there when i pressed the link, on the other hand , it is true i didn't see the date. . I doubt that anyone will get a tempered glass that covers the whole screen, that's why the one i bought only covers just a little more from the second screen, and just before it reaches the lg logo in the bottom, and on the edges it only reaches up to where the actual display ends , maybe a bit more. At least that is what i see, but i wont be able to try it U_U for now.
