Am wondering if the 4g LTE generates a lot of heat when compared to the wifi version? Is there any difference between snapdragon processor and exynos in terms of battery life?

This is an old rumor & article, but i was just wondering what happened and how come we didn't get quad core. Not that i'm complaining- 2GB of ram is probably more useful, anyhow.
Will the USA 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy S3 have the same fate than the HTC One X 4G LTE, which shipped with a dual-core chip instead of the quad-core chip that was demonstrated with at Mobile World Congress? We don’t know, but it’s possible and it that was the case, T-Mobile would be the only carrier in the USA to feature a quad-core Samsung Galaxy S3, simply because T-Mobile is HSPA+ only, for now. Btw, this is speculation is also valid for the HTC One X.

The quad core exynos in the international S3 had HSPA+ support for only up to 21 MBPS. T-Mobile, on the other hand, preferred to take advantage of their entire 42 MBPS HSPA+ frequency, which requires certain radio bands that the Exynos couldn't support, so they went with a compatible Snapdragon S4 instead.

ahh i see, thanks for clearing that up. will there be a push to move ALL carriers eventually to LTE network, due to spectrum space? seems t-mobile has no plans of moving to LTE, at least not anytime soon.
That's because HSPA+ at 42mbps is still faster than LTE, but T-Mobile does have plans for LTE in the near future, we were told we wouldn't get it on this phone no matter when it rolls out
they do have plans for an lte network.

I'd take Tmobile's 42mbps HSPA+ network over LTE any day. Decent fast speeds with much better battery life.

I agree. I mean for those wanting LTE have you seen the speeds in comparison to our hspa+? Not much of a difference. LTE probably has faster upload speeds but Imo that doest justify the crazy battery life it yields.

I'm a Verizon customer fixing to switch to Sprints 4G LTE network.
Should I go with the LG Optimus G or the Galaxy S III?
I went back to S3.
I might buy optimus again once there's support from Cyanogen or aokp.

Optimus
The processor is much better and it doesn't feel like a $199/$550 unlocked Fisher-Price toy. Once it has better software, it will be even better, especially since it outpaces every device even on stock firmware. Due to its better hardware, it also has more potential than other devices, so assuming it and its competitors have the same access to AOSP ROMs, it will win hands down. Also, it has a better screen than the GS3. The processor is theoretically 2x better than the S3's, since the S3 uses a very similar Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chip which is dual core, but the Optimus uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8064 S4 Pro Quad Core chip, with a much better GPU (Optimus has the Adreno 320 whereas the S3 has an Adreno 225, so the GPU is 2x better as well http://www.anandtech.com/show/6112/...agon-s4-apq8064adreno-320-performance-preview )
2x the performance, better build, same/similar price, why not go Optimus?
From what I have read the Note 10.1 2014 edition has either a 1.9 GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 5420 SoC processor or a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC processor. How do you tell which CPU it has? I have a P600 (WiFi only). Do they all use the same CPU?
Back then in 2013 no Exynos processor had an LTE modem yet so Samsung has to use Qualcomm processors for that. This means, P600 (WiFi) and P601 (3G) models use the Exynos processor and P605 is the LTE model ie the one with Snapdragon 800. From what I've read online seems like the 800 offers slightly better battery life while the Exynos excels in webpage rendering/loading. Of course this is highly subjective since everything can be tweaked afterall. I have the WiFi model, on average it lasts around 4 days with up to 9 or 10 hours screen on time.
If you have Verizon and you get an Exynos international model in the USA, what would be the practical difference or issues you may experience?
Of course, the reason to get Exynos is for the unlocked bootloader.
Supposedly Exynos won't support any CDMA bands, so you'll only have service under LTE. However, looking at the 4G map for Verizon it's a solid color, so shouldn't this mean you shouldn't really have any loss of reception since you can just stay using LTE always?
How about internet speeds? Would there be any difference?
Are there any other practical differences?

No warranrlty and not being able to walk into a repair center anywhere in the US.
Anyone else experience slightly reduced connectivity on the S22? Is this a known problem?
I notice less bars and poor 4g connection at work and on the bus, on the same route and with the same carrier as with my previous phone (oneplus 5t).
I'm in Spain on simyo (with a Spanish galaxy s22 directly from Samsung) with the latest March update
I'm on T-Mobile (USA) and my reception is better than my wife's iPhone 12 Pro.
I have snapdragon version and reception is much better than my old Exynos S21. GPS is amazing.
