MC2 is an Android 4.1 Rom (4.1.2 I believe)
MK4 is an Android 4.3 Rom
It has some minor upgrades. Biggest thing for me was having the group messaging function finally work properly. Also, it seems like the Popup browser is removed.

Flashing ROMS from MC2 to MK4
Could someone explain whether flashing a MK4 ROM over a an MC2 ROM is a good idea or not? It seems like it may not be a good idea, but maybe I'm being too cautious. Also going from MC2 back to MA7?

[Q] No LTE after CM 10.2 install on SPH-L710

Hello,
I have gotten some great help here on xda and have tried different modems (MD4 works best, MK3 caused battery drain, MB1 no service) I have been told to flash a touchwiz ROM and grab the APN then flash back to CM. I have not been able to find a touchwiz ROM that will work and on top of that, all the download sites have really annoying adware. Can anyone point me in the direction of a TWR that will work on my phone so I can get LTE finally?
Thank you in advance for your input and help and thank you to all that have offered advice on other threads.
flash a TW rom thats the same version as your current cm (4.3?), that should work no matter what

I've never seen an official AT&T stock 4.3 ROM. I know AT&T released 4.3 as an OTA update but don't think they released a full ROM.

Aren't those are re-packaged ROMs rather than being a complete 4.3 ROM similar to Rogers/Bell/Telus ROMs? To install, you have to Odin back to a stock rom or TW-based ROM.

am sure there is an official firmware from at&t and its hidden in this threads or somewhere on the net plus i was on a 4.1.2 stock, i dont like leaks just the official cleaned out so i did not have any problems with bootloaders/updating etc....... did not bother to use odin just flashed with CMW and everything worked
edit: devs need the official firmware from AT&T to work on , without it they have nothing (assuming you already know that)

AT&T did not release an official Odin tar for 4.1.2 or 4.3 it would be great if they did but they haven't and don't have any plans to do so.
Even without the tar files I think our developers have done a great job.

Agreed. The devs worked directly from the OTA. They never had the official firmware, as they all will tell you. You're not going to find it here or anywhere on the net.

I understand the devs had to re-create the ROM. My point was that these aren't stock, but they are certainly good to have around

AT&T released official for 4.1.2 , dont know what happned with 4.3 but blame Samsung cuz after 4.1.1 S3's update, updates went down from there ........4.1.2 update was great, 4.3 being a WTF and no 4.2.2 .........but am optimistic that 4.4 is coming for S3's and never will CM/AOKP/PARANOID roms forsake the S3 it will have 5+ versions

So since you allege AT&T released official firmware for 4.1.2(some other way than OTA) obviously my search skills aren't what they should be. Can you provide a link to backup your allegations?
Whether or not we get updates has little to do with Samsung and more to do with the service provider, and it is the service provider whom determines if we get an official copy released.
My thought is that AT&T is attempting to discourage us from customizing our devices. Some people have no business customizing anything and that can cause them to attempt to return their device under warranty. When the owner was the cause of the device failure that costs the provider money...

Btw I want to apologize to the OP here is a link to some roms that are pre rooted they're very close to stock with only minor differences mostly in its capabilities and some are debloated. These will get you rooted for sure, remove knox and should do what you want. I like the one from loserskater. This link below works only on the AT&T SGH-I747.

[Q] Need Help! Trying to return 4.3 modded back to stock.

Hello,
I am having many issues and bugs like copy and pasting not working, not being able to text pictures or post pictures to fb, with my Galaxy S3. It is running a custom "Stock mod" rom. I want to re-install everything back to completely STOCK and start fresh like the day i got it... however i cant seem to find a way to do this with 4.3. Can someone please guide me in the right direction to getting either an extremely stable samsung stock themed rom or just the official Samsung 4.3 or higher rom. I just want my phone to function normally again. So sick of bugs and glitches.
Below are the stats for my phone:
Custom bootloader: TWRP v2.6.3.1
Model: AT&T SGH-I747
Android Version: 4.3
Baseband: I747UCUEMJB
Kernel: 3.0.31-2024954

Build Number: JSS15J.I747UCUEMJB
SE for Android status: Enforcing SEPF_SAMSUNG-SGH-1747_4.3_0010
Thanks in advance for anyhelp you guys can provide. Ive been beating my head against the wall trying to find a normal rom. Thanks!
Cheers!

I'm trying to figure out the same thing so I'm going to bump this thread and see if anyone has answers.
AT&T never released 4.3 as a complete ROM, only as an update from a previous ROM so I'm not sure if you can return completely to stock 4.3.

That is as close to an Odin restore you can get. It is a stock rom stock recovery no root it is exactly how it was released to our phones.

[q] moar -> kk?

I am currently running MOAR 9.01 and am interested in running a KK version of Android. I know just enough to be dangerous but not enough to be sure I'm not going to brick my phone. If I wipe my phone and do a clean install, am I correct in the fact that this will work? I have gotten very confused about all of the talk of KNOX bootloaders and such. Is there a Touchwiz based ROM out there that is similar to MOAR but running KK or am I just better off trying the stock rooted version?
Thanks for the help and sorry for the simple questions.

Thanks CNexus, I was wondering though, I have seen a lot of talk that you can flash a 4.4.2 ROM over the MD4 build to make switching back and forth easier. Is this true and if so are there downsides to doing it this way or is it just better to change the bootloader?

Not sure where you heard that, but you have to have the 4.4 bootloader to run any ND8 rom. After you flash the stock ND8 tar you can flash back and forth between any roms you'd like, regardless of what android version they are
Thanks for the info
