Hello,
I use this variable for the data connection #NCCONNS#. Before when I put the data off, a text "None" appears to say i'm not connected.
Now when I put my data connection off the "E" or "H" stay and I would like the see the "None" comeback. I'm not connected on wifi or on data.
Thanks for help

One possible solution:
Code:
$#NDATAON#=1?#NCCONNS#:None$

The problem is that with #NCCONNS# the "E" stay but when I change the variable for #NDATAON" it shows me 0 !
Before everything works fine I didn't change anything and now no more "None" when data are Off...

Use the full string as I posted it. #NDATAON# just tells if data is on or not. It's used as a condition to decide if #NCCONNS# should be displayed (if #NDATAON#=1) or not (if #NDATAON#=0).

When I'm on wifi it says 1 its normal ? When I put wifi and data off it says to me 0 that's ok but one thing I don't understand its after if I choose the variable #NCSTATE# it shows me 3 who says "connected" normally this would be also on 0 if everything is off ?

In that case I misread the documentation for the variable. I thought it meant cellular data but it seems to be for either cellular or wifi. In that case we just have to test for wifi too:
Code:
$#NDATAON#=1 && #NWSTATE#!=2?#NCCONNS#:None$

Awesome now It shows me a E or H when I'm connected and nothing when I'm off for the data ! That's what I'm looking for a while !
Great thanks to you !

Ah ok, my understanding of your question was how to get the 'None' back. If you just want to blend out the #NCCONNS# you can leave the ': ' out entirely so the end looks like this ?#NCCONNS#$
Have fun with it
I am also wondering why the #NCONNS# dont show the none or nothing when the data were off.
And unfortunatly u got me what i was looking for for a long time.

I make sure I've got data connected by testing on Google maps and ie, so I know the connection is present. When I goto "Weather Update", it looks to stall at 10%. I set it to "y" for connect to GPRS first. I have re-installed Chome weather and rebooted still no luck. BTW I'm running v 1.9d.

Change the "Y" to an "N" for 'Connect to GPRS first'. Try to update after that. If it doesn't work, then reboot and try to update again.
R U going through a proxy. (ie: using the 5.99 t-zones hack?) i've heard that using the proxy can cause issues with the update. The other thing is, if you are not using a proxy and are using the 19.99 tmobile plan, make sure under gprs settings and whatever you have your data connection named, that it's set to access "the internet"

I am using the 5.99 proxy. Will updates work using this method? if so, how.
I'm going to look into this, but i believe i may have to add a line that specifies the proxy in he weather script.
I think I got it working. Previously, to get the 5.99 to work, I ran "tmotzones.cab" which input the settings for the proxy to work. I think that was my problem...now I removed that app and manually input the proxy settings, so now it looks good. Thanks for the replies.
i have the proxy manually input and it still doesn't update no matter what i do and i've done it all. The only time i can get it to update is via wifi. I can't even get it to work via usb sync only thru wifi. I have the starting 10% and when i press update it says no internet connection? but i have one and the proxy works on ie, live search, etc. any ideas?
try going to www.yahoo.com in IE and see if that works. Let me know if it does or not.
Update seems to be working, but now it looks like the pretty icon has turned to a large red "X".

Glad you got some answers.
I guess I'm still to new to the site.
I am using 5.99 plan, when i insert give me 10% update, when i insert (Y) uppercase worked. 100% . try and post.
Good observation. Works over data for me too when I capitalize the Y.
Thanks for the catch guys, I updated the script to detect that now I never had to use that options myself, since I'm on an "always on" connection. I just made that option available for guys like you, but never had a chance to really test it out on my own
I finally received my HTC desire today. After playing for a while, I found that it has a problem connecting to a hidden WPA2 secured wireless connection. Can anyone share some light with me here??
No probs here, tested with a couple of networks (hidden, of course)...
should install my new Linksys tonite (or on friday), and will post if anything goes wrong with that.

Hidden with WPA2?? impressive....you must be the lucky one!
sorry, WPA
I have the same issue.
I have a Draytek 2820n modem/router and my Desire will only connect to it if the SSID is not hidden (using WPA2 - that's what the router tells me).
Same problem here. At work the wlan is WPA2 with hidden ssid. Google'd the problems, and seems to be a known issue with Android.

I had a similar problem, and there is an application on the Market which is supposed to handle this. Sorry, I don't know whether it works, because finally I used SSID broadcast. I think the name was HiddenSSDI Enabler.

I've just tried HiddenSSID Enabler on my Desire and it appears to work OK. You need the wi-fi turned on to enable it but you get no indication that it is enabled. I just rebooted (to be sure) and it works. If wi-fi is off when you enter your SSID, it will tell you that it can't find it - which seems logical to me.
Thanks for the tip Jade_user.
Sorry to hijack but it is along the same lines..
When I attempt to connect to my wifi router it gets stuck on Obtaining Address.. So I thought to myself right... set up static IP address for the desire... Connected.. Brilliant... except its not.. can't get on any web pages or any thing else that requires a connection!
I have been able to connect to other wifi spots fine but just doesn't want to seem to work on my router at home! I have checked the settings on the router and all appears to be fine (never had a problem before with any of the multitude of devices that have been connected). Checked the spectrum and the wifi channel appears to be all clear.
The SSID is not hidden, the security is WEP... the router is the stock job sent by O2 (they call it O2 Wireless box II, I forget the real model name but I am pretty sure its a rebranded Thompson..). I have a similar router at another address and it connects fine on that one and both are on ASDL2 lines.
Sorry for the long post but tried to include as much info as possible! Its really annoying not be able to get on the wireless as its a basement flat and phone reception is dire to say the least!!
Many thanks in advance,
Pixie
I have the same issue, phone thinks it is connected to wifi just fine, but no data.
However, after investigating a bit more, it seems that it is the DNS lookups that fails, since in that situation, surfing directly to an ip address works just fine, but not if it requires a dns lookup !?!
Hmmm... I just changed the security to WPA and now it is working fine :S.. still annoying because now we are going to have to change all other devices over.. Might be worth a punt in your case tunedude?

Have you looked in the Market? It's not a standard option, you need to install it from the Market - just search for HiddenSSID.

Ya found it, install it...but no effect?? dont even know if the program work. It just have the screen to type the SSD?? and then enable button. I have clicked many times on the button, but nothing happen. In the Wifi setting, I created the name but still it says out of range.
There is nothing wrong with the WIFI, when I broadcast the SSID, it work just fine. Anyway, I give up...I just broadcast them.
Just add MAC filtering as mentioned before - more secure than hidden SSID

Are you using WiFi or a data connection for Samsung Apps?
If WiFi, in Settings->Network->Connections click on new. You can change the name to something meaningful such as WiFi if you want. Don't change any of the other defaults, just click on save. Then go to application profiles and select this new connection for Samsung Apps.
If you want to use a data connection then you need to find out the correct settings from your service provider. You usually only need to enter the Home URL value and leave everything else blank.

Actually i was thumbing around and found the original post i was referring to, with this method everything works well even after the phone is idle. I can attest to it working as long as you have an internet connection. follow the link its post #23 just follow the steps 1-5.

Could be on the server side. Idle disconnect. Do you have the log of the disconnect to see if it is a client side or server idle timeout?

Hi all,
The "Link Turbo" functionality has been announced before the device came out, but since then I can't find nothing about it, and I can't find any option in the phone's settings talking about it or allowing me to enable it or whatever...
Is the function gonna come in an update or did I miss something ?

AFAIK it's enabled by default.
Link turbo is a passive feature which means it does not get activated or deactivated. It is a software enabled feature that will most likely show up on other Honor phone via an update.
