Does anyone have any clue if it's possible to install the negative colors widget like on the S3? Or a similar app?
Been searching on the web but nothing..
Currently running 4.2.2 Chromium Slim Rom.
Thanks!
Anyone there? ..echoo..
For real? Nobody?
Apparently not...
You almost certainly can't directly take the one from an s3 as it won't be compatible with desire
You'll have to keep searching for an equivalent app...

I am getting a Desire soon and personally I would rather remove Sense UI, but this is not longer possible the easy way.
Can anyone explain if you can remove sense another way? I have heard people say to use Launcher2 or HelixLauncher to get the 3D app drawer and the nexus one launcher. Can anyone confirm this works?
Thanks!
Yep if your install either you can make them default and use them instead but it will still have the Sense theming of all the apps / status bar etc and obv the HTC widgets wont work
ok thanks or the quick reply
so if i use either of these launchers i will not be able to use HTC widgets?
and when/if the desire gets rooted i'll be able to stick a nexus one rom on?
has anyone had any experience with either of these launchers on the desire?
im new to android so i apologise for the noobish questions
Not a problem
Nope you won't be able to use the HTC Widgets... but you can launch the HTC Sense launcher at any time and get access to your widgets though it's a bit of hassle doing that everytime hence i'm gonna stick with htc sense launcher myself.
Both the nexus launcher and helix work great on my Desire, no problems as far as i've been using it.
Not sure about putting then nexus rom though, sorry
thanks for the info.
so installing launcher2 enables the 3D app drawer from the nexus one?
just to clarify lol
Yep the home screen looks like the nexus one and you get the 3D drawer with fades. It looks pretty good! I just wish the widgets still worked then it would be perfect.
thanks again for your quick reply
so where do i download this launcher 2? from the android market when i get the phone?
sorry so many questions!
Not a problem,
Helix you can get from the market but launcher2 you will need to get from somewhere else but if you search these forums you will find one you can install no problem
awesome, thanks again.
one last request: which version did you use? i've searched here and elsewhere and each version is different and im not sure which to use
I'm not sure to be honest, if you know how to check then I can tell you?
Hello, I have the SGS2 but my friend doesn't! He's got a Dell Streak. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the APK for the program monitor / active applications widget? He really liked it. It looks a lot better than a lot of the other apps on the market. I'm not rooted or anything, I like it stock. Is there a way to get it? Or can anyone else upload it? Or do you know where I could DL it?
Thanks a bunch
Program Monitor is a TouchWiz widget, so it will only work on a device using the TW launcher.
His options would be to either use a substitute app (I recommend Active Apps) or try and use the TW 4.5 Launcher.
+1, Active apps is great.

Hi all,
I just had two questions relating to the Galaxy Nexus which I bought a couple of days ago
1. When I receive a text or email, on my old Galaxys S2 it used to have a number next to the icon. For example if two people had text me, the number two would show up next to the text message icon informing me. This doesn't appear to be happening on my Galaxy Nexus. Is that normal?
2. One of my favourite widgets on the Galaxy S2 was the Mini Paper widget. I've got the .APK for it, but it doesn't seem to install on the Galaxy Nexus. Does anyone know how this widget can be installed?
Hope someone can help me out
1. That is part of touchwiz, the Samsung equivalent of Sense on HTC devices. The Galaxy Nexus is a pure Google experience device, but you can find widgets on the Android Market that will give you badges for SMS/Email.
2. That APK might need the touchwiz framework to work, no idea though.

Thanks for the reply ZeroBarrier.
Regarding the first question, I just wanted to make sure that this was universal to all Galaxy Nexus' and not just mine LOL. Strange how this feature doesn't exist though as I thought it was very useful on my S2.
Regarding the second question, if anyone does know how to get the Mini Paper widget working on the Nexus Galaxy, please let me know
Regarding the Mini Paper widget, have you tried ColorNotes from the market? Not EXACTLY the same but gets the job done

I've tried ColorNotes but didn't really like it to be honest mate. The S2's Mini Paper
I feel is the best quick note taking widget out there. Everytime I try installing it, the process just fails
Surely there must be a way to make it work? It's only a small widget LOL

So it's not possible at all then to get this widget ported over to the Nexus?
I heard somewhere that Touchwiz widgets require the Touchwiz framework.
*cough*
The same goes for Sense widgets, Blur widgets, and any other manufacturer-UI widgets.
hey guys. im running the newest version of blackout incredible. and im wondering if their is a way to get the sense 4 flip clock. Ive downloaded the fancy widgets version but it doesnt flip, and the nerd in me really likes that flip. Any suggestions?
There's a thread around here somewhere with it I can't remember the exact name. I'll see if I can find it for you

Hey guys! First off thank you to the community as a whole! I have just sunlocked my HTC desire z using guides found on this site and tried out a few different roms found here as well. I'm currently on cyanogen mod 7, but have tried out cm10 (jelly bean 4.2.1). Which was a bit buggy and kept getting android keyboard failed messages. Windows 8 (looked cool but couldn't get it out of chinese :0) so I found the cyanogen mod7 to be the most stable fo far...
Anyways, I love messing around with my phone and pushing my phones capabilities.
So what now? What have you guys done with your phones? I want to hear about all the cool stuff you guys have done.. why? well, so I can do them too of course!
In particular, is there any really nice widgets you guys use? I've tried a few email widgets and sports widgets but I find the email widgets are just not very effecient with multiple emails (I use 4 regularily) and the sports widgets don't update unless I click the widget to open it, complete defeating the purpose of a widget.
Thanks again!
