KitKat update for DROID ultra gone? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hey guys as far as I know the kit Kat update for droid ultra was released on Dec 19th but now I'm hearing that the update has been pulled because it's been bricking phones and stuff, any news on when the update is going to be released officially? I'm still running 4.2.2 jelly bean rooted.

Oh ok and is the kitkat update stable WL it brick my phone?
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app

I have no problems.. Been with it for about 1.5 weeks
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app

I received my update this morning. Of course I pressed the install button prior to recalling I *shouldn't* press the install button on a rooted phone, prior to doing something else. Now I have to go hunt around for the solution to my phone being in a boot loop.

Kitkat on Droid Razn
We have a few already stables.

Are you rooted or stock? If you're stock, I would root as and flash instead of waiting on Verizon. You might be waiting a while if you're waiting on them.

I'm stoke still. I want too root so I can run code name android ROM. I really like it. But my computers broke right now. So I guess I'll just have to wait then.

no need to root; push all needed files to phone, reboot bootloader, flash a custom recovery, wipe data/factory reset, flash a custom rom (gapps if stated on first post)
To my SD card or something?

RAZR M to get official KitKat 4.4 by Motorola

https://motorola-global-portal.cust...icm0zZG9ORWwiLCJzZXNzaW9uSUQiOiJLckFjb05FbCJ9
On my nexus so I can't post a more direct link. Choose Verizon and then RAZR m and we are officially getting 4.4!
So... anyone else excited?

You beat me by 10 minutes - just saw it there as well - doesn't say when, but at least we know it's coming -
Very cool. But my only concern is that if I go back to the stock ROM, And take the 4.4 OTA update,... I will lose my unlocked bootloader. Not sure. But if or when Kit-Kat comes to the RAZR M,.... I'll wait for a custom ROM version. Thanks for great news and the heads up.

I would go sign up for the soak but.... You never know what the out come may be... Don't think it will lock the boot loader but I've learned from the Droid 4 to just wait and see

Possibly a bootloader loophole in 4.4 if we're lucky, but I'm fine with the update.

I wouldn't bet on another exploit.
If someone can figure out a way to safely downgrade on locked bootloaders, then we will have some action

I wouldn't worry. When Dan cracked the boot loader he made it crystal clear that it is physically impossible to relock due to the nature of the qfuse. So they may break other things like root ... But they can't relock your boot loader.
At the beginning of the link they say they will tell you when the update will happen but that information isn't given in the razr m section. Am I missing something?

Yeah, I decided to unroot to see if I can pick up the OTA. My wife got the OTA 2 days ago on her GS4 so I was kind of hoping that this might drop soon.
Here's the rdf page. Still no 4.4 shown....

Keep Calm and waiting for KitKat
If they are still talking 4.2.2 on February 8, 2014, we have a long wait until 4.4 . They usually have some test builds before they release a rom, and from what I can tell, they haven't even started on 4.4 for this device. NB8 is the latest as referenced in the above post.
N for 2014
B for Feb (2nd month)
8 for 8th day
I would say at the bare minimum, 3 months before 4.4 on this device.

Anybody know where to get this update? Device is rooted so it won't do OTA.
Yeah thinking the same thing. Not sure the best way to get it.

So far the wifi does see more stable and I have not gotten any wifi errors. Also this might be a placebo effect but it does seem more stable and snappy.

anyone tried to re-root after update?
did kernel and baseband change too?
dose 4.4 release for htc one ?
I'm bone stock, not rooted. Took the update last night, and haven't noticed anything worth noting so far. I only seemed to have wifi problems when my router would get rebooted, then all would clear up after a few hours/overnight.
I wonder if there were some changes in there that were necessary for the 4.4 update?

If you do try be careful. The update includes Knox so if you root the wrong way it'll trip the Knox flag, which is currently a permanent thing at the moment.
