I flashed my lgog to the new CM11 about three weeks ago
back before the update (CM10) my phone showed up on my computer as an MTP device properly
and i actually had the option on my phone to connect as an MTP but now i dont.
and now my phone just charges
i need help guys,
anything is welcomed
What ive tried:
connecting using different cables
connecting different computers
installing drivers directly from LG site
turning off usb debug(when i turn it off my phone only shows up as "human interface device")
Nvm, i found a fix here:

If you use chainfires auto root the only way it won't work is if you connect your phone via usb before you press start on odin. Have you checked to see if su user is installed in your apps

Ok...

HI everyone and thanx for reading. I have a tmobile note 2, I rooted it using odin everything was fine till I tried to plug in to my pc, it wont recognize it, said usb has malfunctioned or stopped working,. what i've done
flashed new rom changed modem, and flashed another kernel.
also done the *#7284# made sure that is was on MTP-ADB but nothing it will charge it but it will just keep sating the usb cant be recognizes or had stopped working. Yes I have also tried different wires. Could it be that the usb port is bad but it still charges??????
Reinstall the drivers for your phone in your computer, that can be corrupted drivers.

Sounds like bad drivers like stated.

I've ran into a problem in the last few days.. i decided to system wipe my evo knowing i would have to reinstall a new rom and i know exactly how to do so, even since then i've tried different installing different drivers to my computer (Windows Vista) and nothing seems to be reading my phone. If someone could point me to the correct link to the drivers i would surely appreciate it!
Try mounting usb storage in the recovery to move a rom? I can't remember if you need specific drivers for that

Well I reread my first post. I did Google but to no avail and can't Google at work but am still trying... I don't get it. Normally connecting gives me the option on the phone to choose a mode but nothing happens there either. I I I? But it charges... It's just me?

I get the silence to fix LOL
So I am having a huge issue: about a year ago I rooted my sph-l900. No issues, flashed Roms perfect, no bricks, just a clean, perfect machine. Then about a week ago I decided to unroot to update to 4.3. Suddenly, Odin decides it no longer sees my phone in download mode. I've tried reinstalling drivers, using a different computer/cord, completely wiping the phone. Tried removing the battery, tried removing the SD card, even found a flashable zip that completely removed root and placed it back to stock. Now I'm at stock 4.3 and Odin still doesn't recognize my phone in download mode. I'm about to lose my mind. Anybody have a solution that doesn't involve one of the above?

Nobody? It's recognizing my phone outside of DL mode, just no luck when I'm actually in DL mode. (Yes, I've tried both putting it in DL then plugging it in and the opposite).

Probably wrong drivers.
Wish that was it. I've used around four or five different types (based on other sph-l900 users) and all end with bollocks.

Have you tried on a different pc? I know you said it recognizes it out of download mode but it doesn't hurt to try
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
Yep. Two others. And made sure USB debugging was turned on. Even tried turning debugging off and making sure unknown sources was off. No avail.

I've also uninstalled/reinstalled kies, ran it with kies completely shut off and completely on and running, and with it installed and uninstalled.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Well shi*. It's the computer that isn't knowing it's connected in download mode. Any suggestions?

No beep, nothing in device manager. It's as if it isn't plugged in at all.

Either that or perhaps the OP is using an old copy of Odin not intended for Knox ROMs.
OP, what Odin version are you running?
I've used everything from 1.83 to 3.09. I run as administrator. I'll try another cord later today when I get off work but I don't believe that's the issue.

Have you tried a different USB port on the pc? I can usually switch between the two front ports and Odin will finally recognize it.

Yep. All three on my wife's comp and all three on mine.

Solved. For some reason when I used someone else's cord (and my laptop), Odin noticed it right off the bat. Thanks for the help guys!

I had this issue before and helped someone out here recently. Despite the cable "working" most of them don't. I've ALWAYS used a genuine HTC cable (yeah I know...I have a Samsung product) whenever messing around with Odin or when connected to the baseband. Those aftermarket/ebay cables should be avoided for anything other than charging or using MTP.
Sent from my SPH-L900. Please hit the thanks button if I helped you out!

Meh. Monoprice cables work fine IME.
It was an LG cord that did it. But my last cord I used was a ten dollar one from a gas station.
