[Q] Stuck in bootloop, cant access recovery - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Hi everyone,
I got my HTC One back on launch day and unlocked the boot loader through htc dev while that still worked. Last night I wanted to restore my phone to stock so I could run rumrunner's s-off utility. I restored my phone with the RUU and everything seemed to be going fine. The phone booted up on the stock sense rom fine. I rebooted the phone once and was presented with a software update type screen. After 10 minutes or so the progress bar hadn't moved. I held the power and volume buttons to force a shutoff and now I am stuck in a bootloop.
The phone vibrates and displays a white screen with the green htc logo for 8 seconds and then cuts to black for 5 seconds. As far as im adware I cant get the phone into recovery or get it to connect to fastboot. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Try holding down power button and volume down at the same time this will manually put you into bootloader mode then see if you can get to recovery from there .

Are you able to get to the bootloader menu at all? If so, there is hope.

[Q] EVO Cannot boot normally or into recovery

I am using a rooted EVO 4G gingerbread with clockworkmod
Current symptoms are as follows:
Boots into a blank screen (backlight is on, but nothing on the screen at all)
Vibrates once you turn it on, but nothing after that.
Stays there until I pull the battery.
Occasionally vibrates twice and a green light will start to blink above the screen.
Tapping power still toggles the screen and backlit buttons when in this state.
Throughout today it's gone through several different symptoms.
At first it was stuck on the quickboot screen doing nothing, but the buttons were completely unresponsive. It would sometimes also constantly vibrate. I took out the battery for awhile and it would just show the screen again when I put it back in and tried to boot.
When I got home later that day, it stopped doing that, but just would refuse to boot at all. It would sometimes show the white screen and just be stuck there unless i pulled the battery out. Now it's doing the symptoms I posted in the beginning.
Any ideas on what's going on and how to fix this?
Can you get into Hboot? If you can you can RUU and hopefully that will do something.

Thank you for the reply
No I cannot get into HBoot, it literally just boots up (whether or not I'm holding the volume down button or not) into the blank screen I described.

Turn off your device and then remove the battery AND the SD card. Wait about 30 seconds and then re-insert the card and battery. Now simultaneously press the DOWN volume button and the power button until the device starts. You *should* be taken to the HBOOT screen. If so, select 'recovery' from the menu and then go from there. I suggest a re-wipe and re-flash of your rom.
If you still cannot get to the HBOOT screen or recovery, download one of the RUUs from my signature, specifically one with an .exe extension and run it from within Windows while your device is connected to your PC via USB.
Still nothing. Thanks though.
I think I have to just return and get another phone... I haven't seen this error anywhere. I removed the microSD card for about a minute, put everything back in, still tried to boot in recovery (vol- and power) didn't work. I tried one of the RUU .exe and no good, when the phone was on, the program didn't recognize that my phone was there or something. Afterward, I tried the other RUU link where you have to drag files, coudln't see anything when I tried to boot in recovery still.
This is looking like i have to get a new phone
new symptom. Just vibrated 5 times. Longer than normal too.
HELP
Reioumu, what did you do?
i have this exact same problem and im freaking out. any suggestions?
same symptoms...with 5 vibrations and need for a battery pull.
EVO 4G
CYANOGEN MOD 7.1 RC
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-2.10.0001
I can get into hboot (by pressing vol-down + power)
I cannot get into recovery.
It splashes to the white htc evo screen, then flicker of the LED, 5 vibrates, and a black screen.
i was backuping my system using ROM MANAGER. When i turned on the phone, it couldnt detect the SD card. When i rebooted all the issues you described started to happen.
I'm at wit's end. I did a bunch of googling on the issue. "vibrate 5 times black screen evo" and there seems to be some sort of fix but i dont understand how to implement any of it. I got as far as installing the Android SDK but cant get fastboot to work. The issue seems to be with the USB port AND the SD card detection.
I was planning to just give up and give it to Sprint to fix but the rep said i need to unroot it before i send it to them. [email protected]#[email protected]#. I cant do that without recovery!

You need to install the Android SDK. This will install a program called "adb".
Plugin the phone to your computer, then turn it on and from the command prompt issue the following command: "adb reboot recovery".
However, I don't know how you may navigate the menu in recovery since your volume buttons don't work. Did you try to press them with something pointed like a pen or a needle?
You can flash 4ext touch recovery so for navigation of menus will not require voice buttons

URGENT Help Required Boot Loop

Hey all,
So a few months back i got the screen changed at my local store, they did a ****ty job and the volume buttons have always been sticky, today they finally got completely stuck so i held down the power button and powered off the phone so i could try and mash they free (probably a bad idea but what else could i do?).
Got the buttons alittle free but now when i went to turn it on its stuck in a boot loop only getting to the white htc logo, if i hold down the vol dwn button i get a silver htc logo instead and occasionally i get the red charge notification led to come on too but then it goes back into its loop.
Somehow after hours of playing with the buttons ive managed to get it into the bootloader screen, the fisrt time i tried recovery and it sent me back into the loop. so is there anything else i can do at this point. i desperately need this phone for work tomorrow. Will the download mode or bootloader option help me? it took like an hour of button mashing to get this screen up so i dont want to waste it.
If I can just get the phone started again i dont care about the volume for now i can get it fixed later with a new screen i just really need my phone.
Sorry for the spelling its 11pm here and im rushing
TIA!
Joel
If you're still in the recovery screen, try to restore a backup.
If not, try "adb reboot-recovery" from an adb shell in command prompt. I had about 3 seconds with adb access with the blue text at the top during the boot loop. This got me into recovery mode to restore a NANDROID.
Sounds like you might have a stuck button though?

i need help... htc 10 in ftm and....

My HTC 10 worked fine until about 5 months ago I went to go use it why mY u11 was being repaired and it wouldn't turn on just kept looping on HTC screen. So I tried to go to recovery (twrp) but when I got to the bootloader my vol up wouldn't do anything my vol down made it move up and my power button made it move up. Power would not let me select anything. So I tried to hard reset it, I tried to go to recovery via buttons and etc. But each time it sent me to ftm. Now in this screen all my buttons worked as they should. And I was able to select reboot to bootloader and it went black and then back to ftm. I selected reboot and it went to HTC screen then to ftm. I tried contacting HTC and they were no help at all. Also I can't even power off the phone unless I unplug the charger....
