1st time posting, long time lurking. I'm trying to find out how to root the Trio Stealth Pro 9.7 CM4. Unlike the Stealth Pro 7c, it does not come rooted out of the box. I've done quite a bit of searching and haven't found any information on this device. Can't find a windows driver for it, no rooting procedures, no ROMs, etc. Does anyone have any info on this tablet? What specs would I look at to see if it's a clone of another device?
please
Please ppl is there anyone out there working on the Trio Stealth Pro 9.7??? I have been lookin on the web and can't find anything out there for this tablet. I need to root, custom recovery, and custom rom. I see that there is a lot on the Trio Stealth Pro 7 but nothing on the 9.7. I tryed z4root and that did not work. So please help. Thank You.

I rooteado with Unlock Root program very simple and you can easily find that much information and statutes.
The problem was that I had no drivers found the tablet, the unlock button to give the root asked me if I wanted to download the drivers but not to ask the same question again and again.
He had also tried to install from the SDK MANAGER checking the appropriate box (google usb drivers) in the extras tab of the program, but I do the installing.
At the end I was able to install the drivers from this page (in theory for Windows Vista, XP and 7, both 32 and 64 bit version. In my case I have worked for 64-bit drivers and use windows 7)

Once downloaded, so typical in windows 7:
Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Devices and Printers-manage devices.
(There if you have no good drivers appear the typical yellow triangle warning that there is a problem and these drivers are missing)
the right mouse button is checked and the panel displays upgrade device is selected.
If looking online not found them, so we give manual update and select the folder where you have downloaded the drives. Eh voila the triangle disappears drivers are properly installed and in my case root unlock version 2.4.2 does its job in 30 seconds and you install the Superuser.
I hope that works for some Negao like me who is starting in the world of android phones and tablets.

What is screen resolution of Trio Stealth 9.7 ?
What is the actual screen resolution of the Trio Stealth 9.7 ?
Newegg claims 1280 x 768.
Kmart claims 1920 x 1080.
Most Chinese 10" capacitive tablets are 1024 x 600.

I bricked my tablet playing around with it too much, but before I did, I happened to back up most of the NAND partitions but not all - I omitted the empty ones that were full of FF's. I think maybe I can restore it if I get the partitions right.
Would someone please do a:
cat /proc/partitions
And let me know what the output is?
So I have successfully Rooted this device but now I need a Custom Recovery and ROM. Any help would be great

Thanks for the quick response. So CM9 won't work? Like for the 7in Trio Stealth
No, not until someone makes a custom build for us. I doubt that will happen unless Trio or the actual manufacturer releases a stock ROM. Without a stock ROM, we have no emergency backup if something doesn't work.

Not exactly. I have already extracted all the partitions, dissected the bootloader, and have made a custom recovery with rooted adb and other utilities. It still uses the stock recovery app though. Not CWM.
I have a CWM recovery from another very very similar device and am close to merging the two recoveries together. I want to rebuild and flash the boot image for the device also so I can use root adb there as well.
I do a kernel for the galaxy blaze 4g, so I have a full environment set up for extracting and rebuilding.
One note, always get a good recovery with root adb before messing with the boot image. That way, you can always flash a known good one from recocery if the one you're trying fails to boot.
My current method of extraction and flashing is dd, which is not at all forgiving and has the potential to brick the device if you mistype the command.

Yep, I know all about bricking with DD! I was able to extract/backup using dd, but I was unable to use my backups because I used cat to install an incompatible recovery which resulted in a brick which would neither boot to OS nor boot to recovery. I was forced to use LiveSuit to flash another A10 ROM and then found none of my dd backups could work because a LiveSuit flash sets up the NAND partitions with sizes specific to that ROM - none of which matched the sizes of the Trio ROM so cat restore would fail.
Anyway, that will be great if you can get CWM or something working. A custom ROM would be great. Something about the stock ROM makes it unusually laggy.
also waitin for a rom-- feel like even after root it is a bit sluggish

It is really laggy. Seems like I/O to me, but I could be mistaken.
Has anyone had any luck with this? This tablet is basically worthless without a new ROM... incredibly slow. It always asks to wait / report / close every app.
I have a working rooted recovery with all the fixin's, but haven't tried throwing cwm on it yet or created a flashing script to make it foolproof yet. Honestly haven't had time. I also permanently rooted the boot image so adb runs as root. Same delivery problem.
If I had a complete hardware list down to the exact parts in it then I could build a device tree for it and get CM on it, as there are a ton of similar devices. Again, an issue of time

Cubot GT72 has a similar chipset (MT6572) ... Framaroot should work with Boromir exploit.
With Framaroot, there is almost no chance of bricking your phone; worst case is it won't work.

Hi
First post, apologies if I'm in the wrong forum
I have used many Sumvision Cyclone X2's in the past, which have been great for XBMC. These devices were rooted by default. They seem to have discontinued these and replaced them with the Sumvision Cyclone X4, which are not rooted.
The specifications for the device are
CPU: AmLogic S805 quad core A5 1.5 Ghz
GPU: Quad core Mali 450
RAM: 1GB DDR3
Storage: 8GB
Input: 2 x USB port, 1 x Micro SD/ SDHC slot
WIFI: 802.11 b/g/n 150 mbps
LAN: RJ45 / ethernet
Video output: HDMI 1.4 up to 1080p
Android: KitKat 4.4
Would anyone know of a method to be able to root this device.
Cheers
Just bought one also, would love to root
Looks like someone on Freaktab has managed to get root: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?19650-Could-someone-please-root-this-stock-ROM
Not tested myself, as my girlfriend has taken my box away for Xmas

I can confirm the freaktab method is a winner and i now have root
Custom ROM for Cyclone X4
I have found a custom ROM for the Cyclone X4 that works brilliantly.
The ROM is meant for the MXQ box, however as the hardware is the same I thought I would give it a shot. It installs no problem and runs smoother than the stock firmware. It is also pre-rooted and the pre-installed XBMC 13.2 works properly with the AMLogic hardware acceration too.
I have tried everything I can try and everything is working spot on, however.....
YOU WILL NEED A KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ATTACHED OR BE USING AN AIR MOUSE AS THE SUPPLIED REMOTE NO LONGER WORKS WITH THIS ROM. ALSO IF YOU TURN OFF THE BOX YOU CAN NO LONGER TURN IT BACK ON USING THE REMOTE, YOU WILL NEED TO UNPLUG AND PLUG BACK IN!
There is a reboot application already installed however, so if you need to reboot, use that.

Cheers. Will give this a try when I get finally get my hands on my box. Do I need to do anything different to install? Someone mentioned on Freaktab about removing the bootloader from the custom ROM.
No, I just did as the instructions say. Just unzip everything from the downloaded file to the root of a FAT32 formatted micro SD card and use the standard update procedure. Keep pressing the menu button on the remote while plugging the box in, keep repeatedly pressing until you see the droid on screen.

Might try and update mine tonight.
Hi is there any new updates to this rom, or anything else which works better that standard rom for cyclone x4?
I updated the new information as stated. I now find the video link with the film fracture and streaming bits of the picture at a time. So what's gone wrong, and how can I get a complete film without the streaming coming in fractured bits?

Thank you! :good: I used this exact link and instructions to get root when I first got my box. I now want to unroot it but haven't been able to.
Thanks to you, I can now flash the stock rom which is downloading as I type
It seems the files in the zip from Jide for x98 Plus are in reality for Cube i10, since the folder inside the zip has Cube i10 as name.
Does anybody have already flashed that rom ?
How to Flash the ROM? I tried. Unsuccessfully. Cant find any hints how to Flash it.
There are a couple of videos in youtube about installing but an official installation guide would be really appreciated, since it is a supported device.
Plus info would be useful about what is needed before anyone start flashing, eg. external keyborad, usb hub?
I hope jide team keeps up good work and support X98 Plus with later releases too!
You need the Intel Flash Tools :
https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/intel-platform-flash-tool-lite
Select from the Tool the flash.json file from the Rom, set option to 'update' and flash.
But it will not work out of the box. You first need to flash mirek custom rom and after that, in place of record the device to google server as usually with new devices, flash directly with remix OS and Flash Tools.
I had an issue after that and had to flash again boot.img and recovery.img separatly with the help of a script .bat... Maybe a bug, i don't know. But i have been the only one from techtablet forum to have this issue.
The rom is amazingly smooth, very beautyfull and it solved the lagging issue i had with the custom rom and the hacker keyboard. Unfortunately, dolphin browser doesn't work on it. [Not bad since i'm a firefox user for privacy reason].
Unfortunately, there is no way to root from adb, since the rom is locked.
In the next weeks [when i'm done with school], i will root the system image with superSU before flashing it back in the device.
Hope this work.

Hi, yes but it's not working so fine for now, in my case, some apps don't work, the camera is not supported and sometimes i've got micro freeze (when i'm installing a app ont google play). I'm new on this OS, I don't know how to install on the micro sd apps.
I think, it needs optimizations.
Despite this issues, it's offering a good user experience ( i'm not sure i'lll stay on remix OS, it will depends on future improvments)
Hi. Does anybody have working 3G on Remix OS2.0? My tablet is A6C9, tried to install couple of times, can't find settings for 3G, only Wi-Fi.

There is no Remix 2.0 for x98 plus 3g version. Only for x98 3g and only Remix 1.0.
But the remix 2.0 for plus version seems to have phone ability, according the packages in /system/app & /system/priv-app folder. I disactivated it with MyAndroidTools Apk.
