Hey guys I'm having a hard time finding a solution to my Google now problem. The Google now widget on my nexus only displays weather, no matter how many cards i have when I enter Google now. I've search around and it seems I'm not the only one with this problem. I've tried resizing it, opening Google now over and over, tapping the weather card, Nothing works. Again, I do have lots of cards in Google now, but only weather shows on the widget. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Thefinder
P. S. Just tried the widget on my Galaxy s3 and it's doing the exact same thing. What gives?
What size widget are you using - try making it bigger???
The GNow widget seems to display new cards when some new info arrives. Otherwise, you will be looking at the weather constantly. Try looking up and adding a sports team of your choice. It should add another card for the next game going to be played.

I've tried making it as large as possible and it made no difference. Aarsyl the problem with that is that I don't watch sports. I have pretty much every card except sports. Why doesn't it show the traffic and search cards that I see in Google now? That would be a great widget, does it normally show all your cards or does it only show weather and sports?

You're missing my point slightly, so let me explain in more detail.
The GNow widget doesn't display the exact same info as the GNow app. Instead, it posts new notifications at the appropriate times. For example, when it is time for you to drive to work, then the traffic info will show up in the widget. I was only suggesting the sports team as an example. The reason that my team shows up constantly is because the sport is in season. If I was to choose a different sport during the off-season, then it probably wouldn't display any info.
In my opinion, the GNow app isn't that useful because of the way that it uses space without producing the same cards at all times.

Yeah I get what you're saying, my problem is that it just doesn't show anything but the weather ever. I've had the widget on my home screen for a couple weeks now. I guess I should just give up on that one unless they change it.
Try ordering some goods online. Mine reports when my Amazon purchases are being shipped. As I also use my calendar, with addresses in it, and have Maps set with both my Home & Work addresses, so those show up.
To reiterate the point above, you need to give it material to work *with*. It's intended to alert you to what you need to know NOW, and for that it needs source information in Gmail, Maps, etc.
Prime those pumps and it should start working any day, er, now.

Hi, can someone please recommend me a good pda type app that I can use for keeping track of appointments and other things such as daily task and just things in general that I don't want to forget. I'm a student and would like a way to keep track of my assignments and tests that I need to study for. Right now I have astrid tasks and use that but I'm not too happy with it. I would like it if it would remind me ahead off time of sn upcoming event but it doesn't have that functionality. I would also like for it to sync with a calendar app. What are your recommendations? I would also like a full calendar widget that lets me view all of the months events on there respective days right on my home screen. I have jorte right now.
again, here's what I'm looking for:
-assignment manager for school for homework and tests
-daily task manager with reminders before the task is due
-calendar app that has a widget that allows for viewing of the entire month and each individual days activities right from the home screen
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I use gtasks, it syncs with google calender, well the task portion of google calendar anyway, has a coule kick butt widgets. It also has the ability to alert you, you can set time and date of task and how far ahead to alert you. if youd like screenies let me know. In the Market under GTasks by Dato, has both free with ads, (ads are only in the program not on the widget) and a paid version.Give it a shot it works great.

Thanks, I have GTasks but I was looking for a calendar app that will give me a reminder before the actual even is scheduled to take place like a couple days or hours before. Not one that I have to go and look at the calendar to see what's going on for that particular day.

My GTasks does that, on the particular task just click on "Due Date" its on the upper right corner of the task itself, gives you an option to add a due date and then a reminder you can set for whatever you want, I think the only limitation is that the reminder only lets you set a time for the day you have set as the actual due date. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
what about Pure Calendar widget? It syncs with my gmail calendar and allows for a ridiculous amout of customization

Happy day,
I've spent some time learning about my phone, messing around a little bit with what comes stock and such. One thing that keeps nagging me is how much of my data the various programs in Google Play want. What business is it of a game-maker to want my contact list? Why should a ringtone or wallpaper or recipe or any other program require that I surrender my data? Sure, they want mine for billing or marketing, that's fine, but why my contacts?
Here's one. A company called Droidhen makes a game. They require the ability to read phone status and ID, which gives them info about me and the number a call is connected to. Why do they require knowing the number to which I am connected?
The list goes on, of course, and maybe I misunderstand Google's warnings about what these companies want, but perhaps not?
Which brings me to the reason for my post. I would like to be able to use and pay for programs that do not access all of my accounts, take my data, track me and such. If I use a program that needs to know my location in order for it to work, that's fine. But in the end, I want to limit what companies can seize.
Will rooting provide me with access to the privacy controls I want?
You could try using this, it's a port of how MIUI handles superuser and permissions. I have not used it myself but it seems like it has the features you are looking for by managing what permission's an app is allowed to have.

For the droidhen game, it needs the ability to read your phone status and Id so if someone calls, it will go to the phone call I think. I havent looked into it much but theres options out there

The Google Sound Search thing is pretty neat but I would rather not dedicate 4x1 of home screen real estate to its widget. Has anyone found another way to call it up? I've tried searching through the Play Music app but don't see anything in there with similar functionality.

Google Search app, click on the Microphone icon. Is that what you're referring to as Sound Search?
You see those two icons???? Click it and it will open up only voice.
The blue is stock with be phone, the other is Nova.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
That's not what I'm talking about it. I'm talking about the new in JB "Sound Search" widget that is basically Google's take on Shazam/Soundhound/etc. The only way I've found to start it is by adding the widget to a home screen and then tapping on it when you want it to start trying to identify a song. Here's an article on it: http://www.androidauthority.com/google-sound-search-whats-this-song-now-available-for-ics-98773/
However, the widget is 4x1 and is not resizable (at least with the stock launcher). I don't want to clutter up my home screens keeping it up full time but adding it deleting it each time I want to ID a song is cumbersome too. I would be nice if there was another way to get to that function.
Talkin about that???

I haven't found any other way to launch it, aside from the 4x1 widget, so I don't bother using it. (But I'm sure with a little digging someone would be able to find a way).
I use Soundhound which gives you a 1x1 icon.

And Soundhound will search through a larger library of music.
The Google Widget only displays results for music sold in the Play Store (Clever, Google. Clever.).
Hi Everyone. I've been using the moto "classic" face (set to black, it looks awesome) on my 360. This is the face that shows when you have events along a ring inside of the hands.
I've run into a bit of an issue however. Events in my primary Google calendar work fine, but those in my work Google calendar do not show up. Is there any way to show events from multiple calendars or at the very least select which one is used? This is only an issue for the moto watch face, the android wear event reminders correctly pull data from all my calendars.
I'm sorry to bring you back to your thread without an answer, but I'd love to know this as well.
Do you have both calendars selected in your calendar app on the phone? I have calendars in Google and exchange, both show properly.
Hmm, yes I do... Weird.
Any solution found?
Did anyone find a solution to this issue yet? Only my main "Google Calendar" is showing on the watch face; the sub-calendars of my Google account do not show.
Same problem
Only one of my five calendars shows up on watch but all show up on phone. Nexus 5 all apps up to date. I would love to see this fixed or hear a solution.
More Calendar Events Watchfaces!!!!!
Anyone know of any watch faces for moto360 that also show calendar events like the "Classic" one that is built in?

The "testing @5-6" is a sub calendar on the same google calendar. this will not show up

Has anyone else figured this one out? I also have not been able to make my watch face sync up with my calendar. I only have one calendar in Google and I can't get my watch face to reflect any events...

Is there any way of getting more than 3 items of data to display on the watch face? e.g. phone battery, watch battery, No. of steps and current temperature?

Thanks - Glance ticks all the boxes except I was really hoping for a hh:mm:ss display (Glance only shows hh:mm).
Any idea why there don't seem to be any other watch faces that display more than 3 items of data?

You can use something like WatchMaker or Facer to design your own face with what you want. I use my own WatchMaker face to show seconds in bright mode but not in dim mode, for example, along with the date, a bunch of weather info, and both the watch battery and phone battery levels.

I tried both WatchMaker and Facer last year, but IIRC neither of them allowed more than 3 data items to be displayed (or at least only the first 3 actually worked). Have they evolved since last year?

I don't know about Facer, but I don't think WatchMaker has ever had that restriction. I've been showing all this stuff on mine for over a year. Back when I made it, I shared it here on XDA, if you want to try it out.

No limit with Watchmaker. You add all data you want.

I've just been trying Watchmaker. It looks great, but I can't it to display weather. I've tried manually setting the location and doing a manual refresh but it just won't retrieve weather data.
???
Maybe try one of the other weather providers in Settings. I use Yahoo weather, only because it seemed to respond quickest back when I first set it up. I don't think it has the most accurate weather.
Thanks - OpenWeatherMap seems to be the only one that fully works for me.
