I'm combing the forums and not really finding what I'm looking for. I have the N7 2013 and while I'm using Nova Launcher, I'm content with the experience except for the very very basic quick pull down tiles. I also have a Nexus phone with a CM based ROM on it. I really don't NEED or want an everything plus the kitchen sink rom. I really just want to add/change quick tiles in the pull down menu.
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I really don't want to install a ROM with options I have no interest in using on the tablet. Just looking for a simple rom with customizable quick tiles. I'm rooted so is there even a mod that will just do that?
Sorry if this has been asked. I've been looking and not finding exactly what I'm asking about.

GravityBox with Xposed Framework will do that. Xposed only works with dalvik, not art.

That was what I ended up doing. It gave my 99% of what I needed and was simple.
Thanks!

I just wanted to know if there were any ROMs like MIUI in the aspect of customizability, I love the way MIUI changes absolutely everything about everything, such as the settings menu and lockscreen, pretty much ever menu out there, I just want my sgs3 to stand out you know? I want to know if there are any other ROMs similar that change the phone completely, I would use MIUI but it is too similar with IOS, no app drawer and such, thanks in advance! Please no trolling, I have looked around and couldn't seem to find any. Cheers!

Haha I'm currently using this ROM, and I didn't even know those options! I feel kinda dumb right now lol, thanks!
But I was kind of thinking along the lines of completely changing how android looks, apart from JB and ICS I was looking for something that doesn't look too much like "android".
In that case I would suggest you have a look at some of the home screen threads or the theme threads to get a completely different look. You most likely going to need a theme and/or icon packs and spend quite a bit of time customizing how your phone looks. Oh, and the options in the ROM your running are in settings, ROM control. Here for working led colors

Might be just a silly question, but where do I find the themes? Are they connected to the AOKP ROM itself?

you can install Apex launcher or any other launcher on top of MIUI to make it look and behave like any other rooms with the options and functionality of MIUI

Status bar transparency is the latest Android craze. Many people want it but aren't sure where to get it. This guide is here to help you find ROM's that have the transparent status bar mod enabled out of the box.
(If I've missed any ROM's that include transparency please don't hessitate to let me know in this thread and I'll add it to the first post. I am trying to build a complete list. If I leave a ROM off it's just an oversite or I didn't realize the missing ROM had the feature)
Touch Wiz ROM's
All TouchWiz ROM's should have status bar transparency as the stock ROM includes is all all variants of TW ROMs are based on the stock ROMs. (I never use TW ROMs so I can't verify this. If it's wrong please let me know)
Should you find a TW ROM that doesn't include transparency options, akapaul26 has a mod for so you can try to add it yourself. Click here.
AOSP ROM's
All Android 4.2 based ROMs should theoretically be able to add status bar transparency by using the XPosed Framework and TweakBox mods found here. Make a nandroid backup first then give it a try. I've tried it on multiple devices with mixed results. When I did get it to work the status bar is ALWAYS transparent, not just on the home screen. So this might not be the ideal option for some, and it might be the greatest thing in the world for others. It all depends on your use.
This does not work on Android 4.3 ROMs just yet though as the XPosed framework isn't compatible yet.
The following AOSP based ROMs have status bar transparency preinstalled and ready to go. (I haven't tried every one of these. So If I say one has it and it doesn't let me know. )
- Paranoid Android
- Carbon ROM
- PACman ROM
- Liquid Smooth
- Slim Bean
- BeanStalk
- AOKP
- JellyBro??? (I'm not sure about this one. The developer was talking about it very briefly last month but I don't know if the transparency was every actually added. Can someone let me know?)
- CyanogenMod ROM's do NOT have transparency built in. However there are a bunch of CM kangs floating around. Some of them may have added transparency options but I'm not aware of any.
I have Xposed working on CM10.2. I haven't tried the Tweakbox module, though. I'll give it a shot and report back.
SystemUI kept force closing after applying transparency in Tweakbox on CM10.2.
Xposed modules are kind of hit or miss since 4.3 isn't fully supported yet. The Greenify (donate) module works flawlessly.
For any ROM, it's a very simple XML edit inside systemui.apk. heck you can even make it any color you want!

Yeah I know. But this guide was more aimed at people looking for transparent functionality out of the box.
Remember, even on xda with all the modders we have here, editing an apk is above the heads of most people. The vast majority of people here, even root users, are just flashing what is pre compiled. And there is nothing wrong with that! That's how we all started!

Just remember to enable it depending on the launcher. Nova, for example, needs to have it enabled in the settings before it takes affect regardless of the other settings. That said, 3minit roms make changing the transparency very, very simple.

This is all true information, but it applies to TouchWiz roms exclusively.
3minit is only on TW to my knowledge (please correct me if Im wrong)
And for AOSP roms that have transparency options built it it will force launchers like Apex and Nova to have transparency and you not only do not have to activate it in the launcher settings but you cannot activate it in the launcher settings. Those launchers only give the transparency options if they are installed on a TouchWiz rom. On aosp roms that option is deleted from the launcher settings.
The launchers search for the transparency options built into TouchWiz, which does it differently than aosp roms. So when the launcher doesn't find the TouchWiz transparency files it removes the transparency option from the settings menu.

How difficult would it be to add the list view animations to Touchwiz? I know nothing about coding otherwise I would attempt to do this myself, plus I don't even know where to look. It was pretty cool on the 4.3 ROM I was using.

There might be a module for the xposed framework that might do that. Its pretty cool, can do alot of things...
Hi guys, I've been looking for a xposed module like this forever. Trust me when I say I have searched high and low for this, but I feel like it has to exist.
Does anyone know if there is a module for notification toggles? Not the quick settings that I'm talking about, the one in cm9 I think, where toggling stuff is with your notifications on top.
I know there are apps for this but I really want it to flow with the overall look of the rom, and have it baked in. Sense roms have it, on Santod's rom I think but it's only on sense. :/
Btw I want to use it on joelz GPE rom, I'm already using a number of modules for it already and This will make it puuuuurfect
If anyone knows if this exists and where to find it I will love you forever
<3
Thanks!

sense tool box.
you're looking for "horizontal extended quick settings"
Are there any TW roms that have an app themer like CM13? Or is there an app that works like this for TW?
I really liked that feature in CM13 and never noticed it any where for TW.
Thanks.
depends on how much you need colored
Xposed/Wanam is mainly the goto to get different colors in pulldown and more
and far as native change like stock feel you would need to look at the Note 5 Port because they actually have a theme store something similar to CM theme situation

Thanks, i know xposed is a big way to do all kinds of stuff to your phone. But i haven't spent much time with it. I'm gonna have to start tinkering with it. I even have it stored on my sd card, just haven't made the time. :good:
