hello everyone , i'm new in this forum and i will appreciate any help from your part to help solve my problem
i have samsung galaxy s3 canadian version unlocked sgh-i747m , i'm using it in Algeria in my local network , i was using android 4.1.2 and everything were fine until i updated the firmware via kies to 4.3 everything work fine except some ussd codes like when i try to view my balance i dial *200# and i got the message " connection problem or wrong mmi code " i tried to put comma after # but doesn't solve the problem , i tried to downgrade to 4.1.2 but impossible as well ,
i found a way that may be the solution which is changing the CSC of the phone but all the application available need root access and i couldn't root the device via odin and autoroot file provided in the net it say pass at the end of the root process but supersu won't install and when i check with root checker it says the device is not rooted , i download root explorer but it's a bit complicated for me to use it , so any on how to root the phone or change the CSC without rooting , or downgrade back to 4.1.2 or or just solve the problem of the mmi code
Same problem here.. Someone please help

First of all if you upgrade to 4.3 and try to revert back to 4.1.x you would probably brick your phone.
Edit: You can use this steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991

Hey everybody, Hope u r all doing well..
Here is my problem
I installed leaked rom 4.3 through odin on my N7100 device and was working well
then it started to be slow so I flashed 4.1.2 rom via odin, and found that my imei has been changed to strange one with a message not registered on a network
I searched the forum and figured out that flashing xxdme4 modem will resolve the problem
So I flashed this modem through recovery and the IMEI turned back to the correct one, but still not registered on a network
Things I tried
flashed 4.1.1 stock rom, changed the imei
flashed xxdmb5 rom , changed the imei
installed Ariza Patch on 4.1.2 , it makes my imei 009444 and corrupted it with no network
flashed xxdme4 Modem, it makes my imei correct
also xxdmf1 modem, makes my imei correct
I returned back to 4.3 , the imei is correct and also not registered on a network, I cant make calls
I flashed the new modem of the leaked 4.3 xxuemj5 on 4.3 rom, Also not registered on network but imei is correct
I flashed criskello custom rom 4.1.2, The imei is correct but also not registered..
Here Is the Strange part, when I call the sim in my n7100 from another phone, It rings as it is working, but I have nothing on the screen. also when I turn off my n7100, and call it , it is said that it is turned off. also the signal bars increase and decrease according to the area am moving in.. So I assume that this is not a hardware problem
also I thought to go to warranty , so I flashed stock ddmc3 rom, but the imei changed and when I flash xxme4 modem it is back, and I reseted the flash counter. but the modem is not corresponding to the rom, so it will be refused at warranty, and I cant install higher roms, cuz this is the latest rom for the region Egypt, where I live.
The Sim card is working in other phones, Also I tried many simcards
So I have a working device with 4.1.2 Stock rom and Xxdme4 modem, my imei is correct, baseband and everything
Sorry for ur time reading this, But to make everything Clear..
thanks in advance
Hey there... I actually faced a similar problem with the galaxy s3...similar symptoms.. .sane strange behaviour. ...except that my imei was altered.... I couldn't do anything to rectify it...as I hadn't backed up es folder....If you have backed it up...It may work if you restore it.....I made my s3 by sending it to a repair center...not samsung....and they fixed it....hope this helps...sorry about your phone
thanks for your reply,, I don't have efs backup.
Also My imei is Correct, it it Not Altered.
I am sure it is a software problem and I really need a solution
hope someone will help me.
Is there anyway to completely delete everything, repartition the device and start all over ??
If your imei is correct then use ariza patch it will fix your problem
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Thanks for trying to help. But i think u didn't read what i have done above.. my imei is correct with modem xxme4 and when i install ariza. It alters my imei. So ariza generate fake one and doesnt work
Any help??
Not Registered On Network
I am facing the same issue... flashed the Leaked 4.3 jelly bean leaked version bu somehow Wi-fi was not working. So i tried switching back to old 4.1.2 jelly bean. And since tehn I'm facing this issue. And after looking for some solution i came accorss this section on XDA... and realized my IMEI no. has also changed as you mentioned above...
I have no solution to this issue... just guessing because I read somewhere 4.3 comes with region lock feature and once installed you cannot switch back to the previous verison of Android OS... Can this be the issue... ??
If thats the case then I am assuming re-flashing leaked 4.3 should fix it but you mentioed above even that didnt wokrk.
I havent tried anything yet to fix it... downloading the most recent official 4.1.2 jelly bean rom (N7100XXDMG1) available for my region and see how it goes... Though I'm not very positive about it as you have already tried this...
Is there any one who can help us out.. ??

Not Registered On Network - FIXED
Hi,
I re-flashed the Old Stock Jelly Bean, the one I already had on my system (N7100XXDLL4_N7100ODDDLL2_INU). Even after flashing it I was getting the same error as mentioned above and then came across another page on XDA which mentioned about this issue...
I tried installing the relevant modem for my phone rom and region which fixed it... may be the modem that you have flashed is not relavant for your region and rom. You can go through the link and see what I am talking about.... It kinda worked for me...
I flashed Modem DDDMG1 and it got fixed )

Hi, all
It happened to me on my Note 2, first Network not registered, then after flashing again with a different rom then "SIM Card not detected". Searched every where and in the end I find this which worked for me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDPsUxnRbTM.
I downloaded the driver from here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com. Also tried many drivers from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2044937, non of them worked for me.
Hope this helps.

I tried xdme4 modem , it restores imei on 4.1.2 but still not registered on network
I had been thru the same problem. I flashed a prerooted 4.1.2, rooted it again as it was giving some error, and then patched ariza. I have done this several times as I have been constantly trying to flash 4.3 which always resulted in emergency calls only, once I lost imei after patching ariza, so I flashed. DLK7 or DL7 modem forgot the actual name but you can search by my name to find that post. I have already posted about the working modem.

Sorry to hear that it didnt work for you.... Seems like you are not getting the correct modem file for your region & Rom, the only thing that I can think of right now is to check with your friend who owns Galaxy Note 2 and can extract the Modem file using the method mentioned in the link i shared earlier :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044937
And use this file to flash on your Note2. Also, confirm the status of Note 2 of your friend whether it is locked by some carrier/network provider or Factory unlocked, should be same as yours (Not really sure if that can cause any issue but just want to avoid any further issues that might crop up).
All The Best.
Thanks!
efs restoring query??
hello everyone, i ve a efs backup, backedup wen im running on 4.3 (xxuemj5). is it possible to go back to 4.1.2 (N7100XXDMB2) and restore tat backup (backed up on 4.3)? i had a prob (" not registered on a network") last time wen i went back to 4.1.2.
thanks in advance-
Some times we have to replace the SIM card.
When IMEI becomes invalid the service provider blocks the SIM card.
Try your SIM card in some other phone before replacing it.
dear bro.
i had the same problem with my n 7100 i hope this ll work with u
flash stok 4.3 rom n7100zsuemk3 u ll find it at samsung-updates.com hongkong rom
u ll still have not registerd network
flash this modem n7100ddemj9 for android 4.3 i think u ll have to root ur devaice and disable knocks
google this (GT-N7100_ModemMJ9) u ll find it
this worked for me but with this modem u ll get poor signal than other devices . its better than nothing any way .
Dr Ketans roms has an option to fix the network issue in aroma instaler of his rom, can you try with this.. Or other option, if you want to return to the 4.1.2 try flash the rom 4.1.2, install a custom kernel, apply ariza patch and them apply an efs restore.
How to SIM unlock and/or roll back firmware on Samsung Note 2 N7105.
This is how I did it. It worked for me. That's all I can say. It may or may not work for you. I'm no 'expert' so I can't answer any tech question. I found this by trial and error. None fatal. ( So far) I will take it for granted you know how to Root and use Odin. I'm also assuming you have installed the Samsung USB Drivers.
http://uploaded.net/file/xdloq4jw
If you are using one machine to do this remember to disable Kies before using Odin.
My phone was updated to 4.3 using Kies. I did this on my laptop as I didn't want Kies messing up anything on my computer that I was going to use for the rest of the process.
So stating with a stock phone.
Using Odin
http://uploaded.net/file/o2xcp01n
I rooted my Phone with
CF-Root
http://download.chainfire.eu/255/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-t0lte-t0ltexx-gtn7105.zip
I then downloaded SuperSu from the market and ran that. It runs a fix to stop Knox.
I then installed ES File Explorer from the market.
Then I downloaded My Phone Explorer. I like this program and use it a lot.
http://www.fjsoft.at/en/
Using ES I backed up my EFS folder to my Sd Card
Using MyPhoneExplorer I backed it up again to my computer.
Better safe than sorry.
I then used Odin again to install the 4.1.1 Firmware.
I got it from here. There's 4.1.2 there as well for those that asked.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-N7105&pcode=EVR#firmware
I then installed 4.1.1 by unzipping the file and using Odin.
I then use CF-Root again.
Using the *#Codes as below
Step 1. Insert a SIM on your Note 2, you should find the familiar “SIM network unlock PIN” window.
Step 2. Dial “*#197328640#” on your Note 2 to enter special menus.
Step 3. Choose “UMTS”.
Step 4. Next choose “Debug screen”.
Step 5. Choose “Phone Control”.
Step 6. Choose “Network Lock”.
Step 7. Choose “Perso SHA256 OFF” and wait about 30 seconds.
Step 8. Press the Menu button then choose “Back”.
Step 9. Choose “NW Lock NV Data Initiallize” and wait about 1 minute. *Then reboot your Note 2.
Step 10. Once rebooted, you should no longer get the Network Lock window any more and you should be able to get signal and data. *If you have trouble getting 3G/HSPA+ data, try setting the APN to your carrier’s settings although it should set automatically.
I did try this using 4.1.2 but Step 7 was missing.
I then updated back to 4.3 using Kies on the laptop and then CF-Root again through Odin on my computer. Fixing Knox by re downloading SuperSU and running that.
One SIM unlocked phone.
I then used Titanium to freeze all the Samsung and Google stuff I didn't want and also froze Knox.
MY phone is running stable and good. Auto update though says it has been modified so now it will not OTA. Which isn't a bad thing.
Thank you to the respective developers of the software I used.
I hope this helps others.

You mean flashing 4.1.1 from 4.3 got no failure?
Currently downloading 4.1.1 version..after attempting to flash 4.1.2 it failed in Odin, due to a new bootloader
Edit:
Confirmed I successfully flashed 4.1.1 and successfully unlock network.

but about the updating to 4.3 using Kies, wont it trigger the SIM network Unlock Code again?
Hi, what android PDA did you have before doing the downgrade. I have read some posts that say that you can not downgrade if you have MK4 or later... I have a Galaxy note 2 GT-N7100 and I would like to test what you did with mine, but I'm not sure if its possible

Tried all the 4.1.1 fw from sammobile for all carriers here in PH (Globe, Smart, Sun and Open Line)
The menu code doest lead me to the Perso SHA256.
After the Network Lock menu it says Command don't exist or something like that.
Help me what to do please.

All I can comment on is how I did it on mine. I don't have any other phone. Sorry.
Maybe try the UK one that I used. Once it's SIM unlocked you can put a local to you ROM on.

Hi,
I followed the instructions properly. I rooted my 4.3 with CF auto root, and then I tried to flash the 4.1.1 firmware onto my phone.
Now it is stuck at the boot screen, and I'm so shocked because I did everything correctly.
I can still get to "ODIN Mode" by holding volume down, home and power, and it says:
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Knox warranty void: 1
What have I done wrong?
Thank you.
help me !
i have a Note 2 N7105.i did the exact steps.on the notification bar, i can see that i have signal, the phone is unlocked, but still, i cant use the network. it says NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK. what do you think is the problem ?

I got the same problem, after updating to 4.3 version my phone asking for Sim network unlock PIN.
Tnx dude!

I must say.... you are my SUPER STAR..... I have search everywhere and looked every corner of the website..... apart for paying around £20 to 40 to unlock the phone from someone... you have made my day.... I have been trying to unloack a phone that I have bought from ebay... it was locked to EE network in UK, your way of downgrading the firmware to 4.1.1 and use the code “*#197328640#” had worked... the phone has been upgraded wot 4.3 Jellybean, and the code does not work at all. However after down graded to 4.1.1 (as you have done) , I was able to use the code “*#197328640#” and unlock the phone, then I upgrade it back to 4.3 and now doing a firmware upgrade to 4.4..... the network block has ceased... so I guess the phone is now completely utterly unlocked forever....REALLY Thanks to your logical trial and error...
I must say, it took me some trial and error to reinstall the stock ROM, whick I had to use Philz recovery to completely clean up the device before I reinstall the stock rom.....
Any thanks again, and when I get a chance, I'll post my steps which had worked.
Cheers Mate,
Dave
Am glad to hear that
works great
Big thanks to BorgCymru for the how-to.
Just got a n7105 that was locked on EE/Orange (UK) that had KitKat 4.4.2 installed. Followed all the instructions but used cwmrecovery (to make backup rom) and it worked great for me. Tested with tesco, 3, o2 sim and all work.
Only thing to add that after installing firmware 4.1.1, the phone went to reboot but the screen became locked on the 'Samsung' logo. I removed the battery and booted into recovery to wipe partition and wipe cache. Rebooted and all was fine.
i been having issues unlocking with running 4.4.2 indeed to downgrade was the correct step, i am now unlocked
I know you posted the original post a while back, however I purchased a note 2 7105t off eBay and it was locked to Vodafone Australia. I actually got a code off their unlocking site and of course it did not work. I then contacted their customer service and waited 4 days for a call back with a unlock code and master reset code, once again did not work and I was told to take it to a Vodafone shop and they will send it away. One again, brick wall, as the shop said, "have you a proof of purchase from Vodafone". Nope I do not so they refused to send away and told me I was,"stuck with Vodafone".
Now I want to thank you for assisting me in unlocking my galaxy note N7105T 4.2.2 with your information. It worked like a charm.
The only question I have is if I now put an update firmware from 4.1.1 will the lock come back on? I see here a couple of members said they were fine, can I get verification on this please.
Hi Tamate. Once you unlocked it is permanent.

No so... Did that way back, and last it while travelling, it locked itself! Still trying to find a way to unlock it (I'm now on Marshmallow!) Afraid downgrade back to 4.1.1 will do more damage (bricking the phone for good!)
BTW, how can I tell if my bootloader ever got upgraded?
Hey guys,
I am a new soul here after about a month of searching through this forum and google etc... I really need some help.
After I bought my GT-N7100 Samsung Galaxy Note II as a used phone, I flashed it through the official SmartSwitch (the new version of Kies) so I could get a fresh phone with stock firmware.
After that I used Galaxy_S Unlock app for a network unlock. At this point I think that the app didn't generate a backup of the efs folder (it told me it did, but then i found that my sd card was corrupted and had to throw it away - just my luck), and left me stuck with an invalid IMEI (the generic one 0049).
So I tried flashing the stock rom through Kies and SmartSwitch and flashing stock roms from sammobile, even tried downloading custom kernels, modems from xda, but nothing worked.
After all this, I have a full signal, unlocked phone (not asking about sim unlock or anything), but not registered on network. I think it is strange that it is showing me a full signal without a SIM car in the phone.
If anyone could help me out, that would be great.
Thank you in advance,
alexns89
P.S. I'm a newbie about the terms so please, be patient if I don't understand you.

I already did that and the 0049 imei still stands there I even tried downgrading from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 and still nothing
First of all thanks for passing by my thread , my case is a really strange one , i have an galaxy s6 edge t mobile with DOJC wich is the lastest build , i unlocked thru a direct cable software method provided by unlockbase , as always i rooted the phone , i used unikervel ver 8.0.0.2 and did the unlock , problem is that the fingerprint stopped working forever eversince , and no matter what i do it just displays the same error " an error ocurred with the fingerprint sensor " now i tried everything in my knowledge and google researching , tried the erasing cache method , flash stock bootloader and system plenty of time , downgraded a tons of times even installed a custom rom to see if there was any change , it was working before so im wondering what could happen , ive done this with multiple s6 edge with older builds and never has happened to me , today i downgraded againg do DOl1 and something more weird happened , the imei is there as always but the numbers after the slash are gone says /null now this hasnt affected anything but i dont know why it happened , the second werdiest thing its that the sensor version , in the secret menu for testing everything gives me a null version , does anybody know what can i do to get my fingerprint working againg ?? every lil comment would help thanx a lot
Sorry to hijack his thread. But I see you got root on the tmobile dojc firmware.
I got the edge today and have been going through post trying to figure out what needs to be done.
I know that two needs to be flashed through Odin. Not sure on the version tho.
And that a kernel needs to be flashed then the SU.zip
My question is what kernel. No one specifically says which one to use for the DOJC firmware and the BL option in Odin is where the kernel would go correct?
So
Odin -install tarp
Odin- kernel
And then flash the su zip in twrp
Am I missing anything ?
And hope somebody chimes in to help with your issue at hand ! Good luck
There no need my friend , just flash unikernel Ver 8.0002 thru odin adn the phone will be instantly root

Installing stock kernel should make your fingerprint scanner work. Once you change the kernel, poof no scanner.
Pp.

I recall reading somewhere that not tripping knox when rooting had something to do with scanner not working.
Did you "not" trip Knox?
Pp
Have had this happen with some of my customers. Flashing stock firmware solved the issue.
Can download stock OJC here
STOCK OJC DOWNLOAD
I recommend Odin 3.10.6
ODIN 3.10.6
