any hopes of getting a kernel that will allow the HTC logo to act as a button? I know the Sprint variant has this and that the Viper ROM uses it, but in all my reading of the forums, I am still unclear if anyone has made the VZW HTC One function for this.

Check out Luner Kernel. Hawks Rom and Viper both have them built in. You need to use trickster on hawks Rom and venom tweaks for viper to enable or un-enable this feature

+1 for the Lunar kernel. If you're on a 4.2.2 or 4.3 Rom check out this one:

buckmarble's Lunar Kernel is great. Has Sweep2Wake, DoubleTap2Wake, Logo2Wake, and Logo2Menu options.

i wish i could get the logo to open the app drawer and for me to get rid of the app drawer button while still having the GEL.

G-Lite is a departure from other Virtuous ROMs in that it is effectively AOSP and designed to be lightweight, yet functional. If you find yourself discarding most of the features of Sense in favor of specific apps of your preference, this ROM is for you. Don't expect anything too fancy.
Features
Supported on the G2 and DesireZ only.
Minimalistic, lightweight ROM with +200MB of memory free at startup.
Extremely battery efficient (best of any G2/DZ ROM I have used to date).
Based on Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8, which is effectively AOSP.
All device hardware fully functional, including wifi, bluetooth, camera, camcorder, etc.
Kernel 2.6.35.10 Vision Gingerbread kernel. Do NOT use AOSP kernels with this ROM (i.e. Pershoot, Cyanogen).
Market-sourced applications (Gmail, Maps, Voice, etc) automatically installed on first boot into /data/app for easy removal.
Basic visual enhancements to notification bar, icons and pulldown menus to eliminate green indicators in favor of white.
Replaced stock Gingerbread launcher with LauncherPro.
Wifi calling and Swype conditionally installed for T-Mobile USA users. If your carrier licenses Swype for your DZ, let me know and I will adjust the installer.
Bloatware and unnecessary applications removed.
Additional notifications and ringtones added from Sense.
Massive APNS list.
Rooted, deodexed and zipaligned (should be assumed with all ROMs but people ask so I mention it anyway).

85MB? Wow. That is aerodynamic! Even though I have a nagging feeling I'm rolling with the Fusion for awhile, I must give this a spin. Respect, rmk.
Download link is up -- enjoy!
Downloading now. You make some badass ROMs and other things so I have no doubt I will be impressed by this.
Keep up the awesome work.

mod edit: that was a bit too much.
Just when I was looking to switch it up on my phone, you come out with another masterpiece!
Downloading now, will flash and hopefully get better battery than ~7%/hour that it is now..

No overclocking or trackpad wake YET, since we do not have Vision GB kernel source from HTC. Please do not ask about it as implementing these features is on my to do list when it becomes possible.

Thanks rmk! Been finding myself wanting something lighter and lighter. Been running virtuous 1.0.2 for awhile, then been runnin' your gb sense rom currently. Liked fusion a lot but waiting for it to be ironed out, not to mention how huge it is.
Hi everyone ,
I was wondering if it is possible to get the Sense 2.1-3.5-like power down animation on CM? It looks awesome. If you can, how can I get it?

Hi mate, I've been looking in to this as well.
I've been thinking we could look at other similar devices that do have a working downanimation and try to port it from that.
I've tried a few different phones that use CM7 and can't seem to get it to run with anything I've done.

Yay! I found someone who replied
Have you tried looking in /system/customize/resource? On HTC Sense 2.1 it was somewhere there.
regards.
I have, I have also looked in /data/media as is where it is on some CM ROMs apparently..
The main problem I seem to be having is the exact typing for the code and how to replace the current power down toast (says "powering off" with a circular spinning icon) with a down animation.

Cool, maybe you can request help from another dev who has it in their ROM?

Is there? Pretty much every AOSP ROM has it as menu, and that pisses me off.
I'd much rather hold the switcher button for menu.
Help please
why does every single question i ask on this forum never gets answered? please help
ViperX has that option as a tweak, more of a sense Rom with the option to choose apex or nova launcher for aosp look and feel
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Not just ViperX, every Sense ROM, including stock has that.
I want this for AOSP based ROMs, though, and I can't find a single one with this.
For now, all AOSP Roms use the appswitcher button as Menu, and long-press home as appswitcher. I think most people like it that way and that's why everybody have chosen to have it like that in their Roms.
I know you can change the button by yourself, but it will need a little hacking.
If you read in Tripnravers CM9 thread a couple of days back, someone explained how to do it..
I would like to know this aswell. Could anyone post how to do this?

Did you find anything? I really would like to know also, i want a slim rom (like asop) with the app switcher button intact. I would also like to know if it would be possible to use the recent apps in sense style. Thnx in advance!

It's intact, just hold it for like 2 seconds, can't be that much of an effort right? (imo)
The Domination cm9 rom has adjustable buttons in settings. So only aosp based rom that works for me. I'm a bit surprised that people need the menu button so much.

That is the legacy way though.
Google stated that the app switcher should be separate, and I want it to be like that.
Its not so much need. Its the way it has always been in android to long press home for recent apps. So that building from source you would have to modify it to have the sense style app switcher layout
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
But it's not like that anymore! The app switcher should be a dedicated button!
And it is NOT Sense style. It is ANDROID. Google says that it has to be like HTC did it.
Besides, is it too much to want to have the buttons do what they say?
I switched to Jelly Bean now, and I just don't know what to do.
...you know that you could simply open the the keylayout file which is located in /system/usr/keylayout with a simple texteditor
and remap the button yourself back to appswitcher?
In tgascoigne's thread he suggested just undoing via the file. It wouldn't make sense to feature the option on an AOSP build, but can see it making it into CM builds.

@SilverHedgehog:
Did you find anything yet? Im using the renovate rom with novalauncher. The app switcher button is still intact there, with a few sense options too. The rom.is around 300 mb. I asked the question in the rom thread but did not get a reply.
People, Android is OPEN SOURCE, so please stop wining about rather it would be better the way its being used by most ppl, thats not the android way people.
I am using adroid with the reason that u can customize ANYTHING.

@rbadal
there's the domination ROM, but that's all to my knowledge.
can't find anything else, sadly.
uhhhh.....way hot here eh?
Ok, let's try to re-start, thread has been cleaned, from now let's try to have a clean discussion, ok?
Did you try the RENOVATE rom? Im using that one on a daily base. I will try the domination rom.
Didn't try Renovate.
I'm on Jelly Bean right now, for which, sadly, I couldn't find a solution...
Just like the title says, I wonder if it would be possible to map the volume up key as the camera shutter button. It would make life so much easier for everyone. It doesn't have to be for the Sense camera app, I use CM10 personally and I think that it would be easier to do so on a senseless ROM, but I'm not entirely sure about anything, not even how possible or impossible that would be. So what do you think, is it doable?
PS: I did some research and a thread about this was started a while ago, but it never got anywhere since it was posted in the Themes & Apps section.

Hi,
Just wanted to know if there are any gesture unlocking mods a available for the One X similar to the blackberry 10
Sent from my Awesome HTC One X using XDA Premium
I am not familiar with the blackberry feature but I had a quick play to see if I could do this with tasker and secure settings but could not get it to work straight off. Does not mean its not possible, have a play if you have more time. Would be useful if it didn't kill battery.

I tried searching online but to no avail. I understand that such a mod would require kernel integration. But has anyone had any luck in doing that? Perhaps swiping through the 3 soft buttons below the screen?
