Hey. I want to finaly find ROM for everyday use. But i dont really know what advantages and disadvantages those androids have. I want newer system than GB, but im afraid of batery draining and etc. I don't record videos or use panorama, so i don't care about those bugs. I just want nice smooth rom for games (i mostly play solitaire ), but good battery life. But i think most important for me is interface and battery... Can u tell me main differences between those three system, so i can choose the best rom. I can install milions of different ROMs but i dont really know the differences... But if u want u can recommend me good rom, i won't be angry.
I had tons of roms installed on my gio, but never stayed with one rom more than two weeks.

True.
ICS and JB are clearly different on battery time than on GB, as well as stability

Im mostly using wifi or 3g network for steam app and SMS. However id like to play sometimes game and dont want to play laggy games. I know its almost impossible to find such rom, but you people here are experienced, as i see, enough to help me Thanks

yes.camcorder is working but only with 3rd party app which is working sluggish as hell and for HQ playback yes it is.
I don't think that battery performance is bad in ICS or JB... My phone can lasts for 2 days...
And about the memory management: In Maclaw's AOSP ICS and in CM10.1 by OldDroid I have ~150-160 Mb free RAM... This is a big improvement for these android versions.
My battery lasts a day on JB (listening to music all the day xD)
The performance is very good and JB is stable. You should use a task manager (Advanced Task Killer for instance) and close apps like Email.
In my opinion GB is a bit obsolete. JB's new notifications are beautiful! <3
well, I've been using touchwiz ROMS ever since I got this phone last year. I've tried a few AOSP roms and liked 'em.... but the one thing that made me shift back to TW ROMS is because the videos LAG in AOSP roms. I mean seriously? why would it lag? not all the videos but some of high resulation ones..... Does anyone know about this thing?
All CM based roms from around 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 all seem to have the same folly. On certain bluetooth devices the playback of audio is slowed down sounding lower pitched, and it is choppy with skips.
Going from a clean CM, to trying a more rounded Liquid Smooth there is no difference.
Flashing to a stock ROM clears this issue.
Now, the problem is that 4.4.2 is much much much much much more pleasant to utilize from the eye candy, to it's features (most importantly the dialer), and customizable settings. Let's face it, 4.3 is crap in comparison.
Is there hope that the CM source that the other roms use will be fixed to eliminate this bug? Can the old blueZ stack be baked into the roms? There is thought that the old stack offered better sound quality.
Hi! I was just wondering if it was common issue for roms to have an audio bug? I've gone through cm11, aoskp, liquid smooth and slim kat which all had phenomenal performance and I'm very appreciative of the effort developers put into it. But everyone that I've flashed seems to bug out when playing an audio. I was playing particularly deemo. Is there like a fix to it in particular? Are there roms that dont have this issue?
What bug? A seldom hissing noise? That's curable with Red kernel or with Mani kernel. (Or with lollipop)
Hello XDA fellows~
I have been having a very annoying issue on various AOSP ROMs including ROMs based on CM. On stock ROM, no matter how loud the environment sound is, the recording always sounds perfectly but when it comes to AOSP ROMs, the quality of recorded sound is very much worse as compared to stock rom. Even worse, when I record in a loud environment, the sound will be very distorted. This is the only obstacle blocking me from using the aosp roms even though they still get more love from me than stock rom.
Since I always use Snapchat and I have to admit I am a party guy which is why I really can't live with this issue. I never had this problem on my others devices running aosp roms.
Does anyone get annoyed from the same issue as well?
