That method above will work for you,
I cant do that because my Bootloader is locked by my carrier

Well i used the OTA Simple Root and it worked, but now everytime i try to go into recovery (power plus volume down) it searches the files again and tries to run all the updates and reboot the system. Then when i skip that and try to go to recovery to update a rom i get a black screen with a red triangle and cant get to the recovery menu even. I did one time and i was in boot loop.
My questions are these, how can i set my phone back to completely stock with nothing on the sd card but what i need.
Is there anyway to fix this with out having to start all over again?
Easier fix is to install Rom manager. Once inside tell it to flash clockwork recovery. Boom. Have recovery again.

Delete any files named PC36IMG.zip from the root of your SD card. Then either flash Amon_RA's or Koush's Clockwork recovery.

Download whichever PC36IMG.zip file is relevant to that method and place it on the root of your SD card.
me thinks the PC36IMG.zip is in included in the OTA simple root zip file, just copy it to the root of your SDCARD using the phone as a USB drive
whit's "Start over" method will work since he has partial root. and it'll update radios appropriately.
Try use toast method 2 nand unlocking and flash the recovery image. Should work just fine.

X&D root is a very simple to use root tool for both the xoom and the the original droid. It features root for ice cream sandwich on the verizon and wifi MZ604 xoom models. It will root the original droid on any froyo version. To use just download, extract, and run the program called root tool sharp. This is only for windows systems, and if something does not work you may need to download the usb drivers and/ or microsoft .net 4.0 redistributables. I hope you guys enjoy this. If you do please press the thanks button I am open to suggestions, so please leave feedback

Disclaimer: I can not be held responsible for any damage this program costs you. Please be smart with its use. This is currently for the xoom running any version of ice cream sandwich. it includes wifi xoom and verizon xoom. I do not own a verizon xoom so use at your own risk. I can only confirm its success for u.s. wifi versions. Do not use on any other version, or honeycomb/jelly bean When jelly bean comes around I will make this work for it.
Temporary Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Wifi Xoom Root method:good:
For all of you who installed the jelly bean from google for the wifi xoom, or got it officialy via soak test, or release, then here is a root method for you. In the download link bellow you will find a boot.img. reboot into bootloader. If you have your device locked curently, then unlock via fastboot oem unlock. After that simply do a fastboot flash boot jellybeanxoomrootboot.img
reboot and your device will be fully rooted. If further help is needed then do not be afraid to ask.
Download wifi jelly bean root boot test:

its easily fixable, just fastboot the original files again, and then use the fast boot to flash clockwork recovery and root via the su.zip

Which xoom model do you have, wifi mz604, or the verizon edition, and by boot animation do you mean red m logo, or beyond that
I have never tested on a 3g/4g xoom so that is not garaunteed to work. wifi should work flawlessly. Also, were you on ice cream sandwich or honeycomb. This does NOT work on honeycomb
Yeah! Rooted ... on Xoom Wifi -> Bootloader unlocked!
Thanks

First of all, this is designed to be used on ice cream sandwich, and NEVER honeycomb. If you have a wifi xoom running IML77 build, it will work perfectly
Second, im not quite sure why you got that error, but im looking into it right now.
and what do i do with the file once downloaded?
It only works for windows. Just download, extract, and inside click on the file called root tool sharp. Just follow the instructions in the program from there
Can we please have a clear answer on does this work for original Verizon xoom withy ICS? Thank you.
I personally don't have a Verizon Xoom, so I am not for sure if it works or not, but I do have a setting to root the Verizon Xoom. You can test at your own risk
Wifi works perfectly, but I have not tested stock 4.0.4, but I believe there was no kernel change
edit:
I can confirm that this program will root the wifi xoom on build IMM76 android version 4.0.4
Hi bro, when the menu appear in section "Bootloaders" what this mean...

You shouldn't have to install anything. Unlocking the boot loader is something you would have had to manually do, so if you don't know, then your boot loader is probably locked:good:
oh yeah, you may have to install moto drivers.

Power off (power button and volume + till it vibrates three times)
Start flashtool and find the right ftf to flash
start the flash in flashtool and wait till it gets to the point 'waiting for device'
Hold the volume - and connect the USB from your PC.
It should start the reflash process, wait till it's finished and reboot.
Try these instructions
Omg, Full Power off was necessary...
Flashmode does work. Needed 2 flash twice but it seems to work.
You really made my day !!

Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
I made a mistake with the PhilZ Recovery apperently. After using the "Clean to install a new Rom", i didnt flash a Rom, but restarted my phone and now i cant get back into the PhilZ Recovery.
If i start my phone, it vibrates once and the LED glows red for about one second and then the Sony Text appears, but nothing more happens..
No Green LED. Can someone help me white that problem?
FlashTool does recognise my phone when i plugg it in while holding volume down
Just try to flash a stock ftf since you can get into flashmode

Recovery install on CM12
I am currently on cm-12-20150208-NIGHTLY-amami.zip and the installer doesn't work for me. The installer installs well on the PC and it even prompts the device to boot to recovery but it just does a normal reboot - no XZ Dual recovery. I have tried flashing the zip on cyanogen recovery but it doesn't flash (Footer or header wrong error message).
Any help would be appreciated.
Cyanogenmod 12 with TWRP
First of all: Im sorry if the question was already asked.
I have flashed CM 12 to my xperia z1 compact with this dualrecovery (TWRP) but when I flashed it, restarted it and went into the recovery, I had the cyanogenmod recovery on my phone. I did flash the flashable .zip after installing CM 12 (and before restarting), but it didn't help. As most cool cyanogenmod-flashable things are only working on TWRP, I would really like to have it back (at all, it's kinda better). Is there any way I can flash TWRP on the phone again? Bootloader IS unlocked and I it is rooted. There sadly is no official TWRP for the XZ1C.
EDIT:
When trying to flash the dualrecovery afterward, it says
"Install failed
E:Cannot load colume /misc!
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
E:Cannot load colume /misc!"
If I remember correctly, there was no error message when flashing it directly after the flash of cyanogenmod.
Can't install XZDualRecovery after flashing CM12
I flashed the XZDualRecovery and used TWRP to flash CM12 and gapps. Then flashed the XZDualRecovery flashable zip. After setting up CM12, I can only access CyanogenMod Recovery. Flashing the XZDualRecovery zip results in a Install failed message. Whatd do I do?

I tried the "install on unrooted rom using towelroot method" but failed. So i am guessing that there arent any way to simply root the LP .270 built. But I found out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...de-root-z-ultra-stock-lollipop-5-0-2-t3094094 for Z ultra. Going to try this one.
Gain root access in KK, install this recovery, create a pre rooted flashable zip file using PRFCreator tool and flashing it via recovery in KK. then installing this recovery again (coz my BL is Locked and i want it to be in that way)
