On my gnex, just to test it out I encripted the phone and after it was ejcripted I rebooted into TWRP (2.6.3.1) and when I entered the encription key it failed to decript. The phone decripts and boots up fine with the key but in twrp I cannot decript the data to load a new kernel or ROM to flash. Is there a solution for this?

Have you tried updating to 2.6.3.2? It's the latest version for maguro, not sure if that's the variant you're using.

Try to look in /cache/recovery/log for errors, or /cache/recovery/last_log after rebooting into Android.

What ROM are you using? CM, PA, ...? I don't have a toro, but I can encrypt my maguro to check up on something, to compare something I've seen in your log. Who's the twrp maintainer for toro?
Anyone got an encrypted toro that could come in the discussion?

i factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik but still no go.
any ideas of what i might be doing wrong or how to fix this?

That's an older version. You need the newest one, which is 5.8.4.7. Download the img file from the website and flash through android emulator.
Downloads: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
How to install through Android Emulator on the device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
scroll down to the "Third, alternate if unfamiliar with adb commands" option and follow directions.
Beware that once you install this version of CWM, your previous nandroid backups will not work, as they will get md5 mismatch. If you want to go back to the older version of CWM, simply use the method you used when you first flashed CWM (via Odin). I experienced the same thing, so I had to do some research before I flashed CM10. Hope that helped!

And If I turn off my phone again after reboots, it won't reboot again until I do so.
It's the recovery. When I switched to TWRP on my One X it stopped happening.

Update your CWM to 5.8 or 6 or install TWRP and your error 7 will go away.

cwm 10.1?? Think you may be confused with the CM 10.1 rom. There is no such version for CWM recovery but if you still face issues there even on the latest version then try moving to the latest TWRP and it should run through fine.

CWM and TWRP are separate recoveries man.. Flashing one will overwrite the other. Just choose which one you want.

TWRP is always recommended but it's all about personal preference. If you want my opinion I think TWRP is indeed better. It's got a much better UI and a lot easier to navigate, not to mention it's all touchscreen based.

Keep in mind that nandroids are recovery dependant so your current CWM backups will not be compatible with TWRP and same vice versa. If you're worried abput losing your backups what you could do is restore any CWM backup then flash TWRP and backup that ROM you had restored over to TWRP. You can do the same to all your CWM backups if you have any more but that'll take you quite a bit of time to do lol.

No need to uninstall. Like I said, just flash TWRP through Goomanager and it'll overwrite your current recovery.

I have the same issue
Hi I also tried to install PACMan rom in Galaxy R through TWRP latest version. It says
1. No cheksum files found.
2. Assert failed.
Then some conditions are being checked to identify the device name. That's why the assertion failed.
Does anyone know where I can find a vanilla Android recovery file to install?
Thanks
