is the diztronic matte good protection? - Nexus 5 Accessories

hey guys
well - i STILL didn't get my damn phone (long story) but its on its way and will be here in 4 days.
with me i have the nilkin case, which is slim and minimal, and after that i got the Diztronic - seeing how sensetive the phone was.
i, like many people here saw the droptest with the cruzlite, and it REALLY protected it... im wondering if anyone here using the Diztronic had a chance to drop it (or has a droptest vid with it) that proves its worth... or should i just but a cruzlite as well? ><

I've dropped it a few times with the diztronic ( not intended ) and held up pretty good the only reason why I continue to use the diztronic case because it feels like I'm holding the phone naked

Love it.

I have the clear one. I dropped mine waist high, right onto the screen with a nice little bounce afterwards. The phone was 100% fine, the case a bit scratched up but oh well!

rearth ringke slim GN case

I just purchased this case, and I'm a little excited and concerned. Its a beautiful case( I got the white one), but I'm a little worried about the protection. Has anyone had any bad experiences with this phone? Or good ones too?

I didnt really like the case. The protection seems minimal and I had a lot of trouble taking it off and on at first.
It's an excellent case with awesome support and great protection. taking it off is a bit difficult the first couple of times, then gets easier. I love it.but there is a whole thread for it,I fail to see the reason to start a new one.

I just purchased the matte black Ringke SLIM case tonight since it's back in stock. I wanted the metallic one, but I rather not wait till May for it. Also ordered the 3 for 2 Cruzerlite TPU's just in case. always nice to have back ups and color options.

Don't worry about protection, I thought the same thing till I dropped my phone on hard concrete from about 4". My phone turned off that was it, not even a point of contact where the case meet the floor...I was shocked. At first I was worried that it turned off, but considering there's no absorbing material, I see why. It booted back up and no problems since, been about 3 weeks. I have the metallic one also and blend perfectly with the phone, I love it though.
And I went overboard buying the androidified tpu cases...I bought 8, awesome cases but haven't used then since I got the ringke slim.

any flaking issue yet?
seems like a finger print magnet. is there a matte version?
No problem yet nothing is coming off yet never tried spec I'm more usually in trident and otter I ordered both of those see which of the 3 is best

Tried taking the phone out of the case yet? I thought I was gonna break the gs3 when taking mine out. I sent the case back and canceled my order on a black one..
Don't ever order black Candyshells; they show their scratches right away. Always order light colors. Speck makes great cases, but this time I went with the Casemate Pop. The Speck does offer better camera-area protection though because the Casemate pop leaves it uncovered (although still protected).
Why dont attatchments show up for me?? I want to see this case
I had a speck for the HOX and let me tell you, it was VERY hard to take off. I got a Incipio Silicrylic and it's worked better for me.

Yea. I just got the blue colored one at T-Mobile store and man, it's a really nice case. It fits tight but is easy to take off and it doesn't raise a screen protector or make me feel like I'm gonna break my phone in half.
I should've bought this case before I ordered so many others. I'm completely happy with the Incipio.
Side note: I'll still try other cases though.

Best bumper case for S3?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good bumper case. I did a search but havent read much on the forums here. A quick ebay search brings up many options, and I was wondering if anyone has a particular one they like. I've looked at the draco bumper case, but I'm not spending 70$ for a case.
I would prefer a pretty solid feeling bumper that hopefully has a little better grip than the current phone.
Thanks
I have aluminium bumpers, but I don't think they do anything for "grip". A silicone / TPU type bumper might be able to do that.
You get what you pay for. I got a $13 aluminium bumper case from eBay. I'm happy with it, but it's not perfect with concerns to quality control - and I really doubt any at that price-range are.
However I think $70 on a case is reasonable to spend if you can afford it. I mean, that's like 1/10th of the phone's original price - pretty reasonable to me.

How's the screen protection with that one?
If it was easy you'd of hired the guy at Home Depot to to it.
It as a lip of 2-3 mm on the edge, not much but it holds on the phone very firmly. I dropped my phone a few times now on stone (outside) and wood (inside.) But it was just fine. Altough it always depends on luck.
On a side note, i have installed the spigen screen protector and after 2 months it still doesnt have a scratch.

Spigen bumper I have is HORRIBLE. I love SGP cases...I've owned at least 1 for each of my last 3 phones. However....this case is terrible. Feels cheap. Cannot push in power button. I have to apply about 15 lbs of pressure for screen to come on.

Protection wise, are aluminum bumpers just for looks or do they actually protect the phone at all? It seems like hits would just shoot right through instead of being absorbed like a rubber bumper.

There wouldn't be any shock / impact absorption. Looks only with a drop in reception. Foam is too thin. The phone would most likely touch the aluminum when dropped. Unless it had the sturdier stoppers.
For the authentic Spigen bumper is it a one piece?

Maybe mine is faulty... but I had no movement on power button on bumper. It honestly takes me pushing pretty hard to turn my screen on and off. I've tried to fix numerous times without luck. Glad you guys are having better luck. But in my experience with this case I would not feel comfortable recommending it to someone

I "made" one for the extended battery (and case) that I have - from a 3EUR rubber case (normal size) which could not fit the extended case in the original form, but after some cutting around I was left with a decent bumper - not perfect (and the "finish" is poor since this was a first-time experiment) - but usable

What's interesting is that I have the exact opposite complaint about my spigen bumper. I bought it the same time that I bought a leather holster and the button is way to easy to press. When I put it in the holster it barely touches the power button but it's so easy to push that the holster makes it turn off.

Favorite/Current Case?

I need a case/cover something that doesn't add much bulk (thin) well protected, and looks good. What's your current or favorite case? I'm looking at this bad boy:

The case I am currently using for my T989 is the Diztronic Matte Back Black TPU Case. I'll be posting a review and pictures of it soon.
I got the Diztronic and it's awesome.
My favorite case by far, is this black TPU gel case. It's super slim too, and slides into my pocket. :good:

Although I haven't seen too many cases up close, I think I would agree. The Diztronic case is slim enough to easily slide into a pocket, it fits the phone really well, and it doesn't cover anything that shouldn't be covered. I had a cheap one from Koodo first, but I hated how it covered the power and volume buttons. The Diztronic case was cheaper and looks a lot better too...just wished they had more colour options available.
I'm a construction worker and beat the crap out of my phone, dust like a m'f'er. I use the trident,

I thought it was a cool case at firsst..... but then it became to cumbersome pressing the buttons & I didnt like the fact that the case made the phone a little wider. for protection the otterbox cases are the way to go but they cann be bulky, I bought myself a diztronic case and I love the fact that its fits perfectly on the phone with access to the buttons and no extra width added to the sides of the phone :good:
I bought one of the fishbone cases and am very happy so far with it. I guess it's a hybrid case in a sense.

Eh...gets cracked after a while (especially if you're one to carry spare batteries and take off the case all the time) , super glued a piece of it back on XD. Currently using a rugged case which feels great and has more protection than the d30 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-RUGGE...485007?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5aea735a8f , still use the d30 though sometimes just for the hell of it, it was a good case.

Diztronic TPU Case Video Review (My favorite case so far)

Absolutely love these Diztronic cases. For such a cheap case their attention to detail is spot on and all cutouts are cut precisely. Going to be using this case for a while since Spigen support refuses to contact me back due to an issue with my Slim Armor case.
Let me know if you have any questions about the case!
You can order it here: http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Mat...=1384301727&sr=8-1&keywords=diztronic+nexus+5
