Problem with S-Note App on Jedi ROM

Hi,
I just flashed Jedi ROM x6 based on 4.1.2. on 317M with Perseus kernel. Everything seems to work fine so far except I can't get the S-note app to work 100%. I can open the S-note app, I can type text in via the handwriting tool. But I can't physically jot down notes in ink.
Any idea what could be the problem? Could someone provide me a working version of the S Note APK so I can try flashing it over?

You might consider doing a re-flash. Dose the S pen work outside of S Note?

I just got everything up and running (i.e. installed a bunch of apps and configured my settings) and I really would prefer not to have to restart the ROM from scratch from a reflash. Would it be possible to just flash the S-Pen apk if I can find one somewhere? Or is it possible to extract the S-Pen apk from the Jedi X6 ROM or any other ROM to flash?

Could it be the fact that I'm running the Jedi X6 ROM (designed for AT&T) on my Canadian phone (317M)? Cause when I open the app there's a warning (not a popup) that says the version is incompatible with my phone.

I had the exact same problem. Here's how I fixed it:
1. Boot into CWM. Wipe cache/Dalvik.
2. Dirty flash Jedi X6 ROM again (nothing gets wiped). <--- Fixed S Pen with S Notes.
3. Flash Perseus Alpha Kernel. <--- Recognizes 64gb MicroSD while retaining above functionality.

Thanks for the solution. However I was able to fix it in another way. I was reading in the CleanROM thread where some other users were having similar problems with the S Note app. It appears the S Note app some how checks the Build.prop of your phone. So all I had to change was teh build.product prop of my phone using ROM toolbox to 317 instead of 317M and it worked.
Hopefully this helps any other 317M users experiencing the same problem with their S Note app after flashing other custom JB roms.

Basically I used Rom Toolbox to edit the Build.Prop. You can find it in the "Performance" screen of the app. The lite version of the app can be downloaded for free from the Play store.
Once you're in the build.prop Editor function, scroll down to "ro.product.model" and change the value to "SAMSUNG-SGH-I317", reboot and it should work.
Remember to take a nandroid backup before you attempt this in case anything happens. Best of luck.

[Q] How to put OLD SNote app into new "Note 3" Roms

I work with Galaxy Note 2 AND Galaxy Note 8.0 (4.2.2) with SNotes sync with Samsung account.
New 4.3 ROms for Note 2 featuring new SNote are wonderful, but new SNote may only import old notes and convert into a new format that is not even readable from Note 8.0 with the old application.
Since in original Sammy 4,3 Firmware there is OLD SNote, there must be a way to have it work on these roms.
What I have already tried
I have tried deleting app data, removing Snote3.apk, copying SNoteT0.apk and SNoteT0Provider.apk into system/app, setting permissions. Rebooted for wipe cache and dalvick. When I had an old MI6 Leak Rom, this trick worked.
In Dr Ketan's Rom after rebooting I receive a persistent SNote Error as soon as the phone starts. So, there must be something wrong with my procedure.
May anyone help me with this issue? How to do or make a ZIP file to restore OLD SNote?

At the beginning I have had some errors with Samsung account sync, that's because it featured 2 snote syncronizarion items... But after a while it has gone ok. I think that a good solution may be using different accounts for syncing the 2 apps: samsung for SNote 2 and evernote for SNote 3.

I know this thread is a couple years old but I haven't found any better info. I have an older note 10.1 and have had a note 2 for several years. Note 2 was fine but I was convinced to upgrade to a note 4 and traded my note 2 in during the process. Now I am having the issue with s note note being compatible. If I understand this post correctly this is for adding the older s note to a note 3. Will this also work for the note 4?
I switched to Samsung specifically for the built in s note and I am not happy. I would just switch back to the note 2 but as I said I trade it in. I would like to put the older s note on my new note 4. Will this file work? Does it need root? Note 4 is 5.0.1. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

This was probably one of the dumbest things Samsung did. How can you trust them enough to use their software if you don't know it will work from one device to the next. Ok, rant over.
Sorry no one has helped you. And I don't know if it will work either. I am assuming you need this to sync between your two devices? I myself do like the look and function of old Snote compared with new. What you can do is convert all your notes to new Snote. Take your old device still using old Snote, go to Samsung App store. You can download new Snote to your old device (works on my Note 8) and it syncs between devices again. I know it's not the answer you were looking for but I hope that helps.

I ended up buying a new note 10.1 2014. Of course now I am regretting it. I didn't think I would lose functionality moving to a new device. I dropped snote a while ago for lecture notes. Now the issue is when I lasso something on the new note it won't let me just save it to the clip board. I have to choose only from the apps it let's me choose like scrap book, snote, even linkedin! But not the clip board. Wtf? Samsung in unlearning how to make tablets.

Here's what I did. Finally I've install the package provided in the thread. The results was a disaster. Device kept saying "s note stop working" in an endlessness loop. I do not recommend installing this zip package to the sm-p600 users in 5.1.1. I haven't tested it in 4.x.x nor do i will. So, if anyone finds out a way to restore s note 2 either by replacing the new version (ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!) or having them exists at the same time or by some other way (perhaps by miracle), then let us know. That's all folks!

Adding note 3 apps in stock ROM 4.3

I was trying to include few note 3 apps which are ram friendly to my note 2 running on stock 4.3 ROM ( rooted).
i have action memo installed in my note 2 and i want it to open (double tapping spen) instead of snote mini can anybody point out which file to modify ?
PS: I dont want to use custom rom as they are ram eaters and just come back from it. However looking to include few useful features like
new SNOTE- DONE
GROUP PLAY with video sharing - done
one handed operation for all windows - remaining.

Try installing Ditto Note 3 ROM by Electron Team (Custom ROM though).. But its worth it! Quite RAM friendly for me. Go try it, every Note3 apps are ported.

I have rooted my Japanese Docomo SC-02E and installed/removed several customs ROMs.
I installed the DN4 4.4 Note 4 Rom for the N7105......but my SIM card was no longer detected.
I installed both Miui and Cyanogenmods, but I did not care for the lack of google account interaction.
In the past 24 hours alone I have installed/removed the OS at least a dozen times.
What I want......is to blow away the vendor OS, and put a vanilla KitKat OS on here that allows me to use the manin features of my phone such as wifi and LTE etc.
A ported Note 4 OS would be great....but so far had bad luck with that.
What are my options for custom ROMs that look and act like the OEM firmwares?
Or......is there a way I can install the DN4 ROM again, but somehow enable my SIM detection and make it work?

did you install the n7100 dn4 or the dn4v2 lte version with the 1.1open addon patch from ykkfive here on xda forum?

Actually I found a few mods done for the Japanese Note 2.....and had Lollipop running on it. Worked great!
WHat I really want is to use VOLTE and video calling like my S5 Active.

Since this is stock based, everything Sprint related works. (prl, profile update, wifi calling, voicemail)
Personally prefer you to be on QC5 everything first (check general section in you need help odin to Nougat stock.)
Fresh wiped phone is always preferred before installing roms.
Flashing tutorial if needed:
1. Grab a cold one. (Key step)
2. Boot into twrp and WIPE SYSTEM, dalvik cache, cache in TWRP before flashing
3. Flash rom
4. Reboot
*dont forget that Android 7.0 is API 24 which means XPOSED will not work, there isn't an unofficial or official build for it yet.*

Everything is working great. I dirty flashed, though, being on QC5 already is why I did. Saved time from setting everything back up again.

Glad to hear, yea if you are already on nougat, i usually only wipe /system in twrp since im flashing another system that way all my settings still there and its a lil cleanier to me. But lemme know how battery life is after a day or 2.

I doubt it, though you could try, ive never messed with s6 Devices 920P.

Question to OP or anyone who would like to give feedback: If I Backup my Stock-Rooted(SU) in TWRP, then decided to use this ROM, and then also Backup this Rom. Should there be any issues on going back and fourth between the 2? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to give me feedback on this!

Yes, if you install twrp without rooting with the Magisk-v12.0 zip. Stock recovery will replace twrp recovery at least it did for me. If you try to install this Rom without root in twrp I believe your get a not rooted error. You could try it? And also that Rom is prerooted FYI.

I flashed the ROM and everything is working great, but how do I get rid of Sprint Hands Free Activation in the installed GT Idoneapps.
When I click on Samsung DM Manager all I get is :" idoneapps is granted super user rights. No permissions to enter OMADM Hidden menu"

what are you trying to do exactly?
Maybe that will help me. I clicked it and it said the same for me

So far so good. Is there any way to disable the data usage stats on pull down? I have unlimited and don't need it. It will just bug me. Thanks a bunch
EDIT: I figured this one out myself. I am including the change in case anyone else wants the data stats removed from quick settings.
1) use ES File explorer or another root explorer.
2) copy others.Xml from "system/ csc"
3) change permissions (not sure if needed but just to be safe)
4) edit others.xml. Near bottom are the new entries for mod and I just changed <CscFeature_SystemUI_SupportDataUsageViewOnQuickPanel>FALSE</CscFeature_SystemUI_SupportDataUsageViewOnQuickPanel>. Was originally true.
5) copy over the existing file
6) reboot
7) profit.

The Rom hasn't had a battery drain impact in anyway for me. Thanks again it's running buttery smooth.
