Hi,
I have bought my hox like a year ago. It was carrier/sim locked to Orange UK. The phone dealer I bought it from unlocked it. I don't know what he did.
Now, I want to flash the RUU and return it back to stock, for resale, but I am afraid that an RUU will re-lock the SIM.
Can the RUU re-lock the sim or can I flash it ?

I need to unroot my unlocked, S-Off HTC Desire before I sell it as the retailer won't accept it if it's rooted.
How do I know which RUU I need? (It's a GSM model from the UK and I think it was originally on TMobile UK before I had it unlocked). Obviously I want to keep it unlocked.
Use the 2.3 RUU.
HI guys
I had succeeded s-off my M8 HK edition few days ago.
I am working on another M8 HK edition but it not work.
It's show fail message below.
The second M8 I got OTA update(1.54.654.9 to 1.54.654.13) and not wipe.
Is this the problem?
Another question is I just want SIM unlock that I can use Taiwan carrier.
I don't mind use stock rom.
Is there any method that I can unlock SIM card without s-off ?
Thanks for help !!!
SIM unlock without s-off is only possible via the carrier.
If you want s-off you can use sunshine !
So, I got an M8 to resell, gained S-OFF via Sunshine and set SuperCID 11111111 in order to sim-unlock the phone, then removed S-OFF, then sold the thing on eBay.
Now the buyer contacted me and said that it asks him for an unlock code when he put in his sim card. What could have gone wrong here?
Should I have left S-OFF in place in order for the unlock to work?
Super CID doesn't SIM-unlock the phone, it just means you can flash any ROM to it
This should work, but you need S-OFF

I followed option 2 from this site: http://androidandme.com/2014/08/devices/three-ways-to-sim-unlock-the-htc-one-m8-for-free/
So I thought it was unlocked. I couldn't test if it worked though, since I don't have any nano sim available

To my knowledge that has never worked, but then again I've never bought a SIM-locked phone. Chances are S-OFF was needed to do it if it does, indeed, work
I purchased used M8 which is locked to vodafone and is rooted with unlocked bootlaoder S-ON running GPE ROM. I requested unlock code but it dont accept it as keep saying incorrect password even i tried three times. when i contacted the seller who sent me this unlock code he said phone should be in its original factory state in order for this factory unlock code to work.. Is he right? if yes then is it easy to get back in original setting i.e to unroot or relock bootloader ..
any help would be appreciated
I got a red HTC 10 back when they first came out and, being on Verizon, knew I'd have to chance CID and all that to Verizon and flash a Verizon RUU in order to get it work. It all worked just fine and I haven't had any issues since following this guide - https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/guide-convert-unlocked-to-verizon-t3380615. Currently my 10 is running a custom ROM with Verizon settings, is S-Off and has the bootloader unlocked.
Now, I'm considering selling this device, but need to return it to the US unlocked firmware, radios, etc. before I do (I am planning on keeping S-off and bootloader unlocked for selling it). I assume all I need to do is follow the steps that got me there in reverse, essentially. But I have a few questions before I attempt this:
1) I'm not sure which CID I should use?
2) After changing the CID back, do I just flash the US unlocked RUU and I'm good to go?
Thanks.
1) CID: BS_US001 or BS_US002
2) correct
You might want to consider selling it as is. I sold a red unlocked converted to Verizon on eBay and it sold pretty quickly. This was last month.
