Before installing Sotck MK9 i forgot TriangleAway.
Now I have:
1 - Stock MK9
2 - Binary Download 1 (I had a prerooted ROM)
3 - Knox 0 and status Official
I can't find a way to reset the counter since TriangleAway need root. I should root the phone, but I would loose the knox 0x0.
Any advice?
TIA

if you use custom recovery... the binary download will always be 1... rooting will not change the knox status... trying to downgrade to old firmware with knox enable boot image does...
I am on latest bootloader. Knox should be triggered rooting the phone. Sorry, I did not understand your answer

Hello Firiends,
I had upgraded to official 4.3 MK4 and tried rooting it.
Unfortunately I triggered the Knox counter to 1 and still couldnt root my 4.3 SGN2. n
Nevermind.
When I tried downgrading it to 4.1.2, it failed.
So I downgraded using my nandroid backup and success. My nandroid backup was a rooted one.
Now when I use triangle away to reset flash counter, It does not reset it!!
I flashed stock recovery and I am on stock kernel.
Please help! I NEED GO TO THE SSC in a day or 2.
When I reset the counter it shows
Custom (yes 1 counts)
Binary : Custom
And the last option as Official.
Problem is you upgraded to MK4 bootloader with KNOX. You can't downgrade now. Possibly don't try to flash any other bootloader. You could have a brick.

Basically I dont want to downgrade.
But i can go to the SSC only if my binary and everything is official and flash count is 0.
I couldnt root on 4.3 MK4. Knox stopped everything.
Any fool proof method of rooting on 4.3? So that i can be done with the flash counter using triangle away?
4.3 MK4 with Knox counter 1 and everything official. Samsung said they can resolve it only if i visit the SSC.
PS: I have tried almost every method to root.
also Bricked devices are covered under warranty, arent they?

Hi ,
I also did the blunder of updating to 4.3 yesterday. I didnt know the knox would create a big problem. Only when I rooted it showed me the knox as 1.
But I was able to root (only root) with stock recovert. But unfor it increased the knox to 1. I am not downgrading or doing anything now .
Why you need to go to SSC and are they aware of the knox being set to 1 ? Will they reset the knox to 0 , if I am at 4.3 ?(I have not tried unrooting though)

Sure sir?
Edit : It did make it samsung official, but still "Yes 1 count" is there.
Hello,
I want to ask or confirm something for me.
Now i am on stock 4.3,not-rooted,Knox flag=0
If i decide to ignore this KNOX flag and warranty i can :
Root it - using Kingo root Correct?
Flash custom recovery - Witch one ,because i read that some have problem with custom.
Flash custom ROM- Phoenix (let say). Correct?
After rooting i will be able to disable KNOX ,witch after flag 1 will start showing some notifications. Correct?
After KNOX flag 1 the only thing i am not be able to use is KNOX (application) -Correct? I don't use it at all.
Thanks for every respond!
P.s
Is there any other way to flash bootloader except Odin? And if yes HOW?
Asking because :
KNOX is flag in the Bootloader. My idea is - Flashing old bootloader trough Odin-not possible.
BUT if the is other way(not odin) to flash it until KNOX is 0,maybe later it will stay 0 when stock is flashed trough ODin
I tryed on mine 4.3 and knoxed it anyway. CF root seems to not work properly anymore.
But who gives a ****. Knox is justa bunch of crap.
Hi!
I bought a second hand Note 2 that has this configuration in download mode:
Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 counts)
Current Binary: Samsung official
System Status: Official
KNOX Warranty void: 0
Rom is:
PDA: N7100XXUEMK9
CSC: N7100OROEML1
MODEM: N7100BVUEMK1
I would like to reset the download configuration mode to:
Custom Binary Download: No (0 counts)
Current Binary: Samsung official
System Status: Official
KNOX Warranty void: 0
The idea is that I do not want to trip the KNOW warranty when I root it. If it is root I suppose that I can use Triangle Away app to reset the custom binary download counter and then flash back the official rom.
Thanks in advance for your help guys!
I would also like to know the same thing, I have searched everywhere and there doesn't seem to be any concrete answers.
I think we can root without tripping KNOX by following this guide:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/root-galax...-4-3-bypassing-knox-warranty-void-bit-1432252
But then I'm not sure whether Triangle Away will successfully reset the flash counter without tripping KNOX!
Fingers crossed for a solution/method!
UPDATE:
So I just rooted my note ii using the method outlined in the xda thread (which is linked in the link I posted above), and it did not trip the KNOX flag. I then downloaded Triangle Away and granted it root access, it failed to reboot. I am not sure why, it did not work though.
My current status is:
AP: N7100XXUEMK9
CP: N7100XXUEMJ9
CSC: N7100BTUEMK2
Custom Binary Download: Yes (2 counts)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
KNOX Warranty Void: 0
AP SWAEV: A2
Update
Used Triangle Away v3.01, it cleared my Custom Binary Download, but it DID trip the Knox Warranty Void to 1. So to confirm, root = no trip, Triangle Away current version will not reboot, Triangle Away older version = trip KNOX.
I'm sorry to hear that knox is tripped om your phone. I guess that now there is no way to reset the Knox back to zero.
Does anybody know how to do what I posted in the first post? Please help!

Hi FatPhysicsBoy! I read on Dr. Ketan thread that it is posible to remove the KNOX counter and downgrade the bootloader to a one that has no counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500823
Please can you check if you can do that on your MK9 rom? As you already trip your Knox counter it will not affect you as much. I have not tripped mine yet because I did not flash anything. Can you post an update if it works or not?
Thanks alot in advance!
You can do it if you are on MJ5

and not on the Bootloaders which came after MJ5. This is what my understanding is.

on this forum it says that if you root the phone it will trip the KNOX bit. If you read above FatPhysicsBoy root his phone and didn't trip the KNOX flag. He tripped it when he used the app triangleaway. Maybe there is a way to reset the custom rom counter and not trip the KNOX!
Hi All,
I have a 4.3 custom rom and the MJ5 bootloader.
Mostly I have read that the bootloader is safe and the warranty flag will not be triggered.
However some posts speak about a warranty flag 0x1 while using MJ5.
Is the bootloader completely safe or are there some things I should not flash? (Besides newer bootloader)
Thanks in advance.
Regards
It's not warranty flag, it is Knox flag. It doesn't have anything in common with warranty And yes, MJ5 is safe since it has no Knox.

Does this mean with MJ5 bootloader I can root, flash custom recovery and nonknox-firmware by PC Odin or knox-firmware by Mobile Odin freely without worrying about knox flag 0 to 1?

You can flash custom recovery (Phils v5.15 recommended) and custom ROMs. The only thing that will change is flash counter, but you can reset that with Triangle Away (will be increased each time you go to recovery, so you must run triangle away again), but you don't have to worry about KNOX, if you don't flash ROM wih KNOX (that is update bootloader). ROMs that are flashed from ODIN can have bootloader but if you flash from RECOVERY then you don't have to worry because these ROMs can't have bootloader.

It means if I flash stock ROM 4.3+ wih KNOX by PC Odin (update bootloader), does knox flag security change 0 to 1? If knox security is 1 then no way to revert back to 0?

No, if you flash STOCK 4.3+ with KNOX, you will have KNOX security and you will not be able to DOWNGRADE bootloader ever again. Only if you try to flash other non-official ROM without KNOX, will you have KNOX security 1.
And yes - there is no way to reverse KNOX security back to 0.
KNOX on stock recovery show 0x1.show after my knox has been triggered can I flash any DEKNOXED JB 4.3 firmware by odin to get rid of knox and root my N7100?What are possible ways to get root and install custom recovery for KNOX triggered N7100?
IMHO you can flash anything, but you lost your varanty.
