OS Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean)
so we might get it too
Yes. We will get it, if LG decide to kill the Gx sales. The only way I see the Pro getting v4.3 is if our developers help porting it from the Gx.
Edit:
It seems that the only real difference in the hardware is the additional CDMA2000 1xEV-DO support. If that is the case maybe the porting will be as simple as converting the LG Optimus G F180L (with CDMA2000) to E975 (without CDMA2000). All we have to do is to flash the Pro modem after flashing the Gx rom. I can't wait to try it (if I'll have the guts).
i wont rush it if its 99% the same the port wont take too long to made
4.3 is better than nothing...however don't this device doesn't deserve kitkat?? even the gx should have kitkat right at the start...
Somebody make it happen

Similar spec'd phone bot GX and OG Pro. Shouln't be hard to port it, hope some developer picks it up and does it. *Fingers crossed*
The G Pro is a great phone, so it will probably give an update. Hopefully it won't take to long.

Soo im going to my self a new device tomorow and got my eye on the optimus g and nexus 4
Wich one should i get???
On one hand i get all the latest and greatest and i like the stock android rather than lg's ui and with the optimus g i get LTE and an extra 16 gb of storage...
I also have some concernes... Ive seen complaints on the web about the optimus g overheating.. Any of you experiencing it ?
Lg ui gesture is the most fluid and smooth ui.far better than tw and sense.not so much bloat and most of those apps you will find them useful.we already have 4.2.2,with almost no bugs, but it can be a daily driver.i don't have heating problems and i'm a power user, runing this phone like crazy.didn't notice to get hotter than my previous devices.
The only advantage of n4 is the vanilla.but g is over n4 on every other aspect.better cpu, better camera, bigger storage, even microsd slot in some cases.
Of course the final call is yours.

A stock OG only has 4.1.2 at the moment. You can flash a custom rom after rooting and unlocking and get 4.2.2 though.
I may be wrong but before I flashed a 4.2 ROM yesterday, the last update put me up to 4.1.2.

So far I havent heard anything about it. If you do decide to flash a rom I reccomend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228880
I've been using it since yesterday morning and its been nothing but awesome. I'm sure you do know that unlocking bootloaders and rooting voids warranty so it is a use at your own risk method.
Hey devs. I know its really hard to port a rom, or build from source. But is it possible that we could get a miui rom on our LGOG??
Thanks in advance

I wonder to have MIUI on E975!
Indeed I wonder to have MIUI on LG G E975. It's infact very strange that still doesn't exist, and that nobody tried to port it.
Let's immagine that the very old LG P500 Optimus One, 640x320 pix, 512 ram and 729mhz cpu, with latest stock Android of just 2.3.5, have a huge choice of roms.
MIUI 2.3.7
MIUI V4 on ICS and on JB, ICS veru stable.
CM 10.1 with Android 4.2.2
CM 7 and 9 very very fast and stable
I really not figue out why this amazing G is still left so alone ...

I'm guessing you haven't even bothered to try to scan the thread titles in the various development forums here. There are more ROMs available for the LGOG variants than you can shake a stick at:
CM 10.1
Carbon
RootBox
Xylon
LiquidSmooth
AOKP
Avatar
ThinkingBridge
variations on stock
And probably a bunch more that I haven't listed as I tend to ignore the E975-based ones as I have an E971.
IOW, we have more ROMs available for the LGOG than the P-whatever you're going on about.
phoenix_rizzen, you are right, but I do have bothered to scan all the threads ...
I, for sure, express in a wrong way... when I wrote; "still left so alone". I wound say: "still left so alone from Xiaomi developers and/or MIUI lovers developers (to try to port it) ...
Sorry for that. I'll pay more attenction.
I am very MIUI oriented, so I think is a mess not to have even just one porting of it.
I recognize LG G have many roms, and I am subsribed to some of their threads in order to follow the future development.
About the P500, it have many MIUI unofficial portings. 5 or 6!|
I really not figue out why this amazing G is still left without official MIUI, but even with any MIUI unofficial portings...
That's it.
Try Avatar Rom, it's the closest you can get to MIUI for this device.pretty nifty too.
In korean naver cafe, there is a miui rom!

Il'' try Avatar for sure. I'm folloing the thread also, but ...
But I'm still chosing my new phone evaluating the modding possibilities.
I still do not own this wonderful G!! I'd prefer better phones MIUI compatibile just because I am accustomed to it. For that I am uncertain if doing an ecception or not.

What do you guys think, will LG even update this phone anymore? to any version, or even another OTA value pack that will bring the cool updated features of the LG G2. The reason I'm asking is because I'm fine with stock right now, but I would love to have the speed boost of a newer version of android, that's the only thing keeping me from rooting and "Roming"? again if they still plan on updating this awesome phone than I have no reason to root and rom. What do you guys think?

If I'm honest, I'd say we MIGHT, slim chance MIGHT, see an update to 4.2. Or maybe just a Value Pack update to bring over some features of the G2.
The advertising for our device was botched, and LG even admitted to it. So, the popularity of this device, isn't as high as it should. I wouldn't expect another update, but then again, LG has surprised me before.

I don't see Lg updating the gpro specially with the Lg g X soon to be out for sell, which is exactly the same phone as the gpro spec wise. I hope Lg proves me wrong but for now Im planning on rooting my gpro rather soon. It's a shame the phone was only an at&t exclusive here in the states or else it would have been much more popular and had more support from at&t.
Is there good support for CM out there? Because of the missing sources I assume, because LG isn't releasing them, I guess.

Yeah download DOT cyanogenmod DOT org/?device=e980&type= there is a stable release for CM 10.2 right now which is 4.3.1. and nightlies for CM 11 which is 4.4.2 or Kit Kat.
And can I flash them if they are not for my device anyway? Because the LG Optimus G Pro isn't supported yet is it?

Another option, if you don't want to flash a custom rom: stock rom + root + xposed framework ☺

Gesendet von meinem LG-E986 mit Tapatalk
There is a leaked version on 4.2.2 China version floating around the forums, but it is way too buggy to try on other variants. We may see an official 4.2.2 update in the near future, but due to US carriers like AT&T who do like like pushing updates to phones that are not their flagship device, we may nit see that update. But, we can only hope and wait.

You can get certain features that are available in custom ROMs such as Nav bars, Advanced power menus, tweaks to the status bar, tweaks to lockscreen, you name it. Be careful though some of these won't be compatible so I suggest using the gravity box module. It has everything you may need

talked bit with mike (e970 user) dont know if hes on xda and name..
first step is to DL f240 sources and mod it with e975 one
http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=NAME&search=f240
so we need first L kernel
atm we have some kernel devs. i dont like to tag one but who is feeling free?
there are some great people who can port roms but dont much about kernel so if someone can start to bring L kernel it would be great and starts the stone to roll
