Hey guys,
I have kind of an annoying problem; I'm running VJ's JB ROM, v.6.3, with alpharev stock HBOOT, newest 4ext touch recovery, and 1 GB ext4 partition and 256 mb swap partition.
And everything seems to be working just fine, BUT!
Netflix and YouTube wont play! Now, that's not the same as "they wont work". The apps are fully responsive and everything, it's only when I choose a video to play that it stalls.. Neither YT or Netflix videos wont start..!!
Tried uninstall, reinstall, clear data + cache, sign in again, and everything.. nothing!
I then searched the net for this issue, and it seems that JB has had some issue with video playback in Netflix... but as far I as understand that should be solved by now... And even if that explains Netflix, what's up with youtube..?
Anyone else has these problems..?
Cheers,
- H

[Q] Unable to install "large" apps/games on HTC Desire running CM7 (RC1 & RC2)
Hello,
Since I'm new to the forum, I'm not allowed to post in the DEV thread, but the issue is here and found as well some others having the same issue on the CM7 RC2 thread but without any fix.
HTC Desire rooted, Alpha Rev S-OFF, wiped, then CM7-RC1 installed.
I did restore from Titanium backup the Angry Birds game with all my stars, then I saw an update in the market, but I was not able to download it.
The download initialized and then simply failed before the 1st % can be shown.
Tried several times to re-launch the download but still the same.
I've also had the same issue with other apps/games I wanted to try (e.g. Cordy, Pig Rush, Air Attack HD, etc...)
I then wanted to try another ROM, so I went GingerVillain 1.4 running GB 2.3.3 already.
Once running, I was able to download and install the Angry Birds update without any issue.
3rd step, I saw CM7-RC2 was out, as I liked CM7 better than GV, I decided to try it so I wiped again my phone, and flashed CM7-RC2.
Waited all the my apps download from the Market and then tried to download Angry Birds again. Same issue then with RC1.
Anyone having a solution for me or will I have to go GV again to DL the St Patrick and RIO versions of Angry Birds and going back to CM7 ?
Thanks
When restoring, wipe the cache and see what it does. You also tried to use the web market and not going through the app?
Which cache should I wipe?
Yes, I did try the web market & also Fast web installer with AppBrain without success
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I did wipe Dalvik & cache partition in CWM. Nothing better.
I found something else, when trying to wipe the Dalvik cache I got an error :
Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Searched around for this error, but can't find anything relevant as I did not create any externe partition by myself... Could a rom install create an ext partition?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I just flashed this new rom and when i tried to watch a video in youtube(like), the browser load the player but when its start to play the video the browser shutdown automatically without any warning or error msg.

Yes, it didnt work, I also try with dolphin browser HD and happened the same, and is not only youtube also with others sites with flash, like dailymotion or megavideo.
You might want to uninstall flash player first with apps like Titanium Backup, then redownload the flash player from the market. It works for me, but I'm on ARHD
Also, there is a bug with Adobe Flash Player 10.2.
Search for the 10.1 apk and try that instead.
In ARHD works fine just the sound was a little choppy, but at least works in Leedroid it doesnt work. I ve tried everything guys but still nothing i am thinking back to ARHD, but is a shame cause i like this rom.
I never had a problem using LeeDroid (even with the most up to date version of flash).
Try re-flashing LeeDroid over the top again but do NOT wipe anything.

Didnt work either, I am going to back to ARHD now...
Now with ARHD happens the same, cant watch any video online...
If going back to ARHD makes you unhappy then back everything up (search), wipe everything and re-flash the LeeDroid ROM again. It does work and is a great ROM (my favourite Sense ROM).
OK guys problem solved, was my bad. I uninstalled flash lite apk with root uninstaller that was why it didnt work .
Thanks everyone for ur kindly and patient help.

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the youtube application v2.1.6 every time I load a video its starts playing without problems but at about 1 minute 11 seconds I get an error saying "Error while playing, touch to retry.".
I'm running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 SR and I didn't have this problem with CM7 RC2. I've been looking for a solution for a long time and I've tried about everything you can find on the net about it. I'm using the Google App package from the cyanogenmod 7 forums. No problems with Gmail, Maps, Facebook, etc.
If anyone has a solution please let me know ASAP.
Thanks in advance,
Thijsken
Things i've tried out yet...
-Install several different .apk's of youtube
-Install Youtube from Android market with Market enabler
-Whipe cache
-Reboot phone
-Reïnstall application
-Reflash Google App package
And since alot of people have this problem I'd like it if someone could fix this proplem.
Same here, it works better from browser.

So I'm running on the latest SOS S 2.0.9 odex.. and im having trouble watching mobile youtube videos it gives me a blank white screen... can anyone help?
First off, I'd suggest going into recovery and wiping cache and dalvick-cache. Then run fix permissions, also in recovery.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you, as my phone runs youtube just fine.
I have [CM10] Jelly Bean ROM using SGT7 enhancements [20120913] [Linaro] and it all works great except for videos stored in mp4 format or mkv.... I had Jandycane and it seemed more unstable but it at least played the movies just fine.
My question is: Why do all movie players for movies in this rom freeze?
I dont mess with video much except netflix and youtube but try mx player as well was this a clean flash? because if it was dirty thats most your problem

So a clean flash would be wiping everything? I followed his directions for installing it the first time and since it reset it back to a stock Jellybean device.... What is a clean install?
Also yes I use MXplayer and I tried others to no avail....
