Hi guys i came across an app that proposes to unlock our bootloaders, it's from Kingo, the same guys that made the Rooting plain simple to most phones.
Does anyone knows if the bootloader can be unlocked this way?
Cheers

I know that had been some issues with kingo appsand the reasons to void using it. But this is a forum and shouldn't we discuss the advantages or disadvantages of the software?
If you know the security risk is up to you using it or not.
There are lots of apps accessing to much info on our phones and we still use them
I only wanted to know if finally someone had cracked a way to unlock our Xperias.
Cheers
BootLoader Unlock

Is it possible to bypass the Bootloader similar to when it was the only way on x10 ?
I just need miui on my arc s

Yes, but as I stated in one of your pther threads all devs have unlocked phones

Ok but I get that but I would imagine it is not to different to the x10 bypass so could be fairly simple to switch over to arc s

A huge amount of time was poured on the x10's bootloader bypassing. Our devs will not do that as SE provided a way to unlock the bootloader. Devs will work on something else for the community.

Look at my post count do you think I don't search ?
Do you think I post random stuff ?
It was a question in questions thread was it not ?
If people just tried helping without trying to play mod or chosing not to help without leaving sly comments trying to play mod people wouldn't get so offended

There might be a bit of misunderstanding here.
As a previous owner of an X10, I know how the bootloader bypass worked but with the arc, we don't need such thing because SE already provided a way to really unlock the bootloader, hence no bypass required.

I don't know where the misunderstanding is, a question was asked, then answered wrongly, most people here have had the great start in thier Android experience with the great X10, still savility cost nothing.

Not if his phone says Bootloader Unlock: No. Only option is to pay.
Paying the $24 is what is required to run the program necessary to unlock your phone. The guy unlocking it for you makes no profit from it. Is it really that unreasonable?
No that dont work my bootloader says no. An do you really think it costs that much to run a bit of software there will be a free way and ehen i find it will post in here

In the entire year that this phone has been out, the aforementioned unlock method has been the only way. If you think you can find another way, good luck, and godspeed. You'll be back, or you won't have an unlocked phone.
I have the same problem on my XPlay :/ I can't get into fastboot.
How anoying is it lol people keep saying it cant be done for free

I have an IMEI code from when some saintly users found an exploit on Sony's servers. Can this code still be used to unlock the play without having to pay anything? I unlocked it back then, rooted it, and then ended up going back to 100% stock. Now, I'd like to unlock it again, and really don't know where to start.
edit: R800x
Yes you can still unlock with that code. I had mine unlocked over a year ago by ashergray and I've relocked my BL once only to reunlock it.

Yup. You use flashtool. Search for relock.ftf. I have it somewhere but its in this phones android development section. Once you have it flash via flashtool.

Each device's unlock code is unique, so getting someone else's code would do nothing for you

Because you have a r800x you have the branded phone. Sony doesnt hand out unlock codes for the branded phones suchas att&t and verizon. Sony gives out unlock codes for the non branded handsets the r800i the international xperia play
If I buy one of the unlock codes from eBay or some 3rd party unlock company, does that unlock on my glide stick intact if I flash cm10 or any other ROM. I've read on other forums that the unlock stays on forever on matter what ROM I flash but I was wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this. Thanks.

Confirmed your phone will remain intact. You might wanna keep the unlock code as I've heard people needing to reapply it in some cases.

Hi,i bought a simlockex Xperia Play,and I wonder if i cloud Root it. I know that i can't unlock bootloader,but can i root it?
It might depend on which version of Android is on the phone. I know that with the Verizon version (r800x), there isn't a known way to root 2.3.4, but I don't know if that's the case with others (the Verizon model doesn't use SIM cards, so I know you don't have that one).
Which version of the phone (r800i, r800at, whatever) do you have, and what version of Android is on it?

"i" never have simlock. check your information again. only "a" and "at" can have lock, "x" is cdma and has 2.3.3 android ver.

Maybe. Maybe not. If you are able to unlock the bootloader, it will also do a sim unlock (or so I've heard, the r800x does not use SIM cards at all). But one of the early steps tells you to go into the service menu and see if the bootloader can actually be unlocked. If it says "No" then you won't be able to do it that way.
Link for that, BTW: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
