[Q] Baseband/Imei unknown after radio flash HELP - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys, my sprint GS3 sph-l710 is showing unkown baseband. I flashed the radio to LG2 because I read that it was easier to acquire your SPC and MSL with that radio. I have since found a much easier, and better method of finding these, as it worked on another exact same GS3.
However, this one is now stuck with unknown baseband/no service.
anyone know how to fix this?

[Q] Droid Incredible on Sprint - PRL corrupted - Roaming list receive failed

Hello everyone
I was trying to help my friend to flash his droid incredible to SPRINT network. The original phone has bad esn and it was locked by Verizon. ESN was repaired with QXDM with working NAM0/1 profiles. However the phone seems to stuck at the roaming stage with 1xRTT connection only. I believe PRL data was corrupted but I was unable to resolve this issue. Phone is rooted , with Android 2.2
Here are the steps I have tried so far
Tried to update PRL file with EPST (##PRL#, version 2.2 and 2.1) , but the PRL version still shows '000000' ,
Tried to update PRL with CDMA workshop 2.7, PRL version still shows '000000' , still stuck at romaing
tried to use QPST, Service programing, error message indicate "roaming list receive failed" while reading the data from phone.
tried factory rest, ROM downgrade, Radio image upgrade , but the error still occurs.
tried to write PRL file using QXDM 2.08 prl_wirte command, error still occurs.
I also key in several MSID corresponding to my friend's home address, but the error still occurs.
I found out this problem is very common, but it seems no one has a proper solution.
I am thinking to manually write the PRL data in hex, but I am afraid to brick my friend's phone.. before I try this, I will like to know if anyone has a solution for this error.. thank you for your help.
Afaik or at least what I can remember from different thread that if you have a PRL of all zero's that the only solution is to have the carrier push the prl to the phone. This means bringing it to tech support. Though I think in this case only Verizon is able to do this and I'm sure sprint wont do it since it's not a sprint phone.
I think Verizon and Sprint made a deal with each other not to allow each others phones on their networks.
What do you mean bad ESN and you fixed it? I haven't heard of anyone repairing a bad ESN as a bad ESN is the carrier blacklisting it due to a balance remaining on the account it was tied too or reported stolen.(unless this was a technical problem with the phone ESN being broken for what ever reason.)
From what I've seen before on this forum, it's best not to discuss "repairing" an MEID/ESN. There are other places more suited to that discussion.
But, as for provisioning a phone from one carrier to another...
I have a friend who went through a similar process. In that case the phone reported a valid Verizon PRL rev number and QPST was able to rewrite it with the Sprint PRL with no problems. It might be a silly question but are you entering the SPC in QPST?
You're right any talk about "repairing" ESN and so forth are best left else where as we don't want to violate the forum policy's.
@SDHank
So your friend was able to get a working Verizon Incredible onto Sprint? Can you document that process? I was looking to do the same thing.
hey i have a solution for the prl.
i ran into the same problem.
email me so we can talk with out being judged for having an inc on sprint

[Q] Trouble flashing to boost. JB may be the issue?

OK someone posted some pretty detailed instructions for doing the S3 on boost so I gave it a go.
failed. can not get the S3 to be "read" in QXDM so can't write anything to it.
The fellow who MADE the directions tried to help me but we can not get it readable in QXDM
QPST shoes com but says no phone and qxdm just says waiting.
now he DID this to hos S3 and it worked BUT now when he plugs HIS S3 into QXDM he also gets no phone and "waiting"
SO we are thinking its the ROMS on the phone. I have one ICS and one JB (same results for both) but both are non stock (I am downloading a stock rom now to see if that does anything)
anyone have any idea's ??

[Q] Why did I lose my IMEI

Hey everyone,
So I recently ran into a weird situation with my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S3, I went to the Rogers store to get a LTE sim card. After activating the sim card and putting it into my phone I realized that I was only getting Edge. I'd like to point out that I was getting up to H+ (or 4g) before I purchased this new sim card.
Anyways, I looked into this problem and I determined that I had lost my IMEI. So using QPST and the QCN generator, I was able to get my data connection back. However, I did noticed one slight change. Before, my phone used to show 4g and now it says H+. To my understanding, these two are the same thing. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As for LTE, I believe it shows up as 4g on my phone.
My first question, is there any way to get my phone to show 4g for H+ and LTE for 4g? --> which to my understanding is the normal set up for the GS3.
My other concern is that I would like to know what caused my IMEI to be lost?????? What are some possibilities?
I am rooted and I was using Drew Garen's Jellybean M7 rom. Just before I purchased the new sim card, I flashed back to Rogers stock rom. That is all I did! I've done this many times and I've never had a problem with my IMEI.
Thanks everyone for your time. If you can help out in any way I'd greatly appreciate it.
For all I know, flashing ROMs randomly cause you to lose your imei. No one really knows why (correct me if you can). There's a thread sticky somewhere that links to a tool to restore it.. Best of luck
one way to lose your imei is flashing att modem on Canadian i747m but
flashing back the right modem should give you back your imei if that's was what cause you to lose it.

On stock Rogers gs3 you should see LTE when connected to it. Try doing a factory reset afrer flashing the stock rom.
I had the same experience.I had no clue how it happened cz i didnot flash any custom rom apart from jellybean bell leaked rom(my s3 is Bell).Anyhow you will have to manually restore imei if its not already backed up.There is a tool for it and to get Hsdpa working as well.

Is it possible to restore the imei if you did not back up already?
Yes its possible. You need to reinject your IMEI (found behind your battery). You can do this using QPST and the QCN generator. Theres a list of instructions on this thread

Getting Sprint GS3 on VM help...

Hi all, I've never been to this side of the forums, I'm usually in the AT&T s3 threads. So heres whats going on my cousin has VM and a friend of his gave him a Sprint S3 thinking he could activate on VM since they use the sprint network. Well he found out he couldn't do it directly. but after a quick search on google we found that it could be done. Ive been searching here and google and got a lot of info on the procedure but couldn't find a step by step tutorial. Ive already rooted the S3 and flashed a TWRP recovery, Downloaded Conquest rom for it.
I also have downloaded the CDMA tools DFS tools, how to use it i'm clueless. IS there a video or tutorial on this?
After reading this thread several times :

The donor phone is a LG optimus V
I know that 4g isnt going to happen, unless he had a 4g donor.
Do I need to root the LG phone to get the MSL info via apk like MYMSL Reader?
Is DIAG mode ##DIAG# from the phone dialer?
What is the samsung password and how do I get it?
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated....
I know the only way you used to be able to get the msl on the optimus v was to use CDMA workshop. Its been years since I have had one, so there might be an easier way now.
