galaxy tab 3 5200 - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello... is there any bloatwareremover for the galaxy tab 3 10.1 gt-p5200 available ?

Hello,
Just root your tablet and use Titanium Backup to remove bloatware. That`s what i did
Hope this helps

How do you keep in gone
I rooted mine and used TB to freeze some of the bloatware.
when I selected my calendar (aCalendar+) I needed to reset the defaults all in order to make my choice stick.
Immediately I did the reset, everything I had frozen or deleted re-appeared.
Any idea how to stop this happening?

Restore MyBackup Pro backups

Hi.
I come from an HTC Desire and I have some backups that I made with MyBackup Pro of some app's data. Relevant data like some games progresses, Libra's database, etc. MyBackupPro has an online backup and I backed the data online on the HTC Desire and tried to restore it in the Galaxy Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus recognizes the backup, shows the apps that are backed up, but when I press Restore it says that I should reboot the device and that the restore was OK almost instantaneously. Nothing is restored, no data is transferred to the phone..
Is there any other way to migrate this kind of data? Shouldn't MyBackup Pro be working on the Galaxy Nexus?
Thanks in advance
Anyone?
Maybe the app needs an update for ICS? Try to check their site to see if there's a reported problem, that's most likely the case.
Should have gone with Titanium Backup. I never had much luck with MyBackup anyway. Titanium is rock star on ICS.
The only problem Ive had so far has been restoring SMS with Pro.
Even with busy box installed its suuuper slow at the moment.
I sent them an email, I'll wait for an answer.. But I guess it is due to incompatibilities with ICS too..
AmesCell, I have always used MyBackup while using the Desire, never had a problem. Anyway, I still have the Desire and can use Titanium, but my Galaxy Nexus isn't rooted, and Titanium needs root.

Your signature says your Desire is rooted. Rooting the GN is easy. I go through 4 phones a year. I couldn't imagine doing that without Titanium.
Yes, the Desire is rooted, but I wasn't planning on rooting the GN so soon. I just got it 2 days ago and I want to see how this goes without any "hacks"..
I wouldn't have rooted the Desire in the first place if it wasn't for the lack of updates, etc... That's the main reason I bought the GN, having a more official support. Let's see, I'm almost sure that I'll root it in the future, but I don't want to do it right now.. I'll just wait for the Rerware answer to my email and see how it goes.
Thanks
Any update?
Rerware already answered, but no updates. Although I think I know what the problem is. I am only backup up app's Data, because they are already installed in the GN. But this is a "root only" feature and, for what I understood, non-rooted devices cannot restore this kind of backup, only APK backups. I asked this to the guys at Rerware to see if there is a workaround.
When I have news I'll post them here.

restoring your data/sms/backups is a "hack"
Hi,
Did you manage to find a solution to this problem? My phone is rooted and it still doesnt restore anything. Just like you said it finds the backup but then when you select the arrow next to apps to tick which ones you want to restore nothing is shown..
I need this to restore my game saves, spotify offline music etc
This happened to me with my sensation before. Somehow the backup got corrupted to I deleted it and started from scratch. Sorry to hear this happened to you it seriously sucks losing akk that stuff. What I've been doing is using from manager to restore my data partition and I've never had any issues SO FAR.
Enable advanced options, click restore and restore backup and only select the data.

I managed to solve the problem......
First my story:
I decided to install new ROM on my phone....i backed up apps and data with My Backup Pro (i bought the app)
My phone is rooted of course.
So i installed the new ROM and then i installed the My Backup Pro and started to restoring apps but i didn't get the app/data/app+data popup
and of course i couldn't restore my data from apps. i got really frustrated and browsed the web and couldn't find anything.
I started everything from the begining uninstalled all apps and figured it out that i did something wrong....and that is this that My Backup Pro doesn't work as it should without busy box...u have to install Busy Box before installing the My Backup Pro!
Follow this tutorial in order to restore your apps + data
Backing up apps on android (rooted) after installing new ROM
With My backup pro application
1. Backup apps + data
2. Backup dictionary
3. Backup all other data you want to
Install new ROM and then start restoring by this order
1. first install busy boxes i found there are two (BusyBox and BusyBox installer on the google store. install both)
2. install My backup pro and when asked to install additional options for rooted phone choose yes (now you should be able to choose between app/data/app+data to restore)
3. restore apps + data
4. thats it...enjoy!
It worked for me!! :good:

Error - Unfortunately, S Note has stopped working

using a non-rooted factory default Galaxy Note 2.
I booted it today, then the msg appeared.
i've tried uninstalling the app that i have recently installed thinking that there is conflict.
but still not helping.
anyway to solve this error?
Try clearing data and cache..It should fix

hope what @mannyvinny said helps, I've had this problem once and tried everything (my device was rooted, and restores with TB didn't solve it)
the final solution was a factory reset, then restoring apps from titanium one by one (except for S-note) and then it worked
also, I removed all my notes from the Snotes folder on the sdcard, started snote once, then put the files back in and started it again
(it's 5am here, so if I don't make any sense, I blame life)
As @tmils said he is using factory non-rooted stock, clearing data and cache from app manager is the only way..but if It was rooted, then it would've been fixed using few clicks(using titanium backup)
Titanium Backup is boon for rooted users!

I had the same issue, reloaded firmware, clear data and cache with no fix. I thought about to do a factory reset, but just b4 I was going to do it. I suddenly have an idea just flashed in my mind. This is what I did.... go to setting > my device > S pen > put a check mark on the "Open Popup Note when the pen is detached". Then back to the home screen, pull out the S pen and a mini S note will open. Close it and now you should be able to open the regular S Note. It works on my Note 2. Good luck guys.
It helps but not for long. After a little while problem coming back. For me problem started right after I upgraded to 4.3.
I don't feel like removing everything and cleaning cache as I have notes I don't want to delete. Is samsung planning to release fix for this I'm wondering.
fixed

Backup and Restore

Hello,
I am a screen issue with my Note 4 that requires me to replace my unit. In the past I have usually used TWRP to create a backup and they restore my phone on the new device. This note 4 is non rooted and does not have a custom recovery install. What would be the best method to perform a backup and restore where it either takes a current snapshot of my files, settings and applications so I can avoid redoing everything on my replacement unit? Thanks.
I *think* the best option is to use Helium but I'm not sure how much it'll backup without being rooted. I'll leave this for other people to chime in but I think you can looking at that app as well as "My Backup Pro".

I use Backup Message & Call to Email by Lucky Dog from the Google Play store (it is FREE). This can backup your call history and SMS/MMS messages either instantly or on demand. You can then restore them to a new phone.
You can also set up your photos to backup to Google+ (either automatically or on demand).
There are a lot of sync options using Google and you android phone that make it a breeze to switch from phone to phone.

Does Kies also back up app settings?
I'm looking for something to at least use until we can get root again and use Titanium.
Kies has come a long way since v1. I hated kies up until v2.5 but since then it doesn't freeze up nor eat all the available ram on your computer while running.
Kies is the best backup system available for nonrooted sammy phones.

Kids Mode on Lolipop 5.1.1 Tab Pro 12.2

Hi there,
I can't find Kids Mode on my Tab Pro 12.2. How can I install this? Thank you
It's a built-in system app so you'll find it in your app drawer, at least on Lollipop. I think it was there on KitKat but never used it so I don't remember. If it's not there then it sounds like you're running a non-stock rom or one that has at least some Samsung apps removed. If you're running a stock or stock based rom the following might work for you so I've made a backup in Titanium (app+data which is the only sharing option) so try and download it, put it in your Titanium backup folder and restore it. Make sure in Titanium preferences to check the bottom placed "Auto-integrate sys Dalvik into ROM" option.
Haven't tried this or sharing any such thing before but I'd like to help if I can. Let me know if it works.

Tab S 8.4 won't boot after having used "Bloatware Melter" in Titanium Backup

Tab S 8.4 won't boot after having used "Bloatware Melter" in Titanium Backup
Hey everybody,
So yesterday I finally took my time to install the Android 6.0 official release by Samsung on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
Got the Image from a mirror found here on XDA, but I just can't manage to find the Thread right now...
It's basically the same image that Samsung rolled out for the Nordic Countrys, found on Sammobile for the SM-T705.
Anyway, so I was just about debloating my tab from all the google nonsense with Titanium Backup.
Froze all the unwanted Packages to see if I hit one too many, and in the end I made a Batch uninstall with Titanium Backup. All of these pesky Apps (the system ones) remained right where they were too, which was odd enough already. So I decided to go ahead and kill them off with the "Bloatware Melter" Function.
Selected all of the apps, put them in a filter, started the Action, which then told me to reboot my Tab for the changes to become active. But it never did.
The Bootloader partition is still working, but I can't boot into the system. I can tell the Bootloader is okay, because I can boot to download mode, the recovery and to the system. But whenever I boot to system the Initial Boot Logo turns off (the one you see first, no matter how you boot) and the screen goes black. Left it lying there for about 10 minutes, no reaction. Went into recovery, cleared the Cache, Dalvik and Internal Data (without /data/media) but that didn't have any effect.
I upgraded directly from 5.0.2, my Tab is and was rooted and I had Xposed installed. I'm using TWRP 3.0.0-0. But It did boot into Android the first few times, so it seems like the Bloatware Melter is the actual problem. Does anyone have an idea what may have caused this? Because else I'm just gonna go ahead and do it all again from scratch I guess...
Thanks in advance.
Ho yeah time to wipe and start again. This time, after flashing the stock rom, install TWRP with odin, then supersu and the debloating can begin. Don't use titanium, it doesn't work too well with a change from LP to MM6. There are tons of file managers and de-bloaters, once you're rooted.
First of all, thanks for the reply.
Yeah, semms like it. I was messing around with my Tab the last few days trying to figure out what actually caused the system to fail while booting. Seems like the pre installed Dictionary App is the villain. Which is kinda odd, since i really never use it, and why would something like that cause my system to freeze anyway?
To see if this actually was the cause I uninstalled the Dictionary App on my Samsung Galaxy S5 too (again with Titanium Backup, just as before) which then froze on boot as well. So, lesson learned: Freeze the Dictionary, don't remove it.
For now at least, until I find a reasonable app to go with in terms of debloating. I'll have a look into this problem in the next few days again, for now I'm pleased with Marshmallow.
Thanks for the tip.
