I'm really enjoying CM6.1.1, however I'd like to update my PRL and the only way to do that is to NANDroid backup CM and flash a Sense based ROM.
I did the backup, downloaded Fresh ROM, did a full wipe and even did a separate Cache wipe and then Dalvik Cache wipe. Then I flashed Fresh. The installation goes fine and I reboot.
I hit the white HTC Evo 4g splash and that's it... it just hangs for more than 5 minutes I've waited. I did a battery pull and booted again and it would just hang. Then I did a full wipe, cache wipe and dalvik wipe and rebooted, still just hanging.
I thought I might have gotten a bad download so I tried MYNs warm 2.2 just in case and the same deal.
Is there something that's done to the phone after CM6.1.1 is installed that prevents a Sense ROM from booting up?
thanks for any help!

No sometimes recovery doesn't wipe everything correctly... downlload caulks format all and then flash sense rom. Should fix your problem!!

!!
I think i figured out what the problem is.
I flashed the latest radios, that is, i flashed the leaked ones (ending in .19 i think)
So I don't any of the roms i was trying to flash were compatible with the new radio.
At least that's what I read in some forum.
After nandroid backing and restoring and wiping things multiple times, i'm too lazy to try flashing an older radio so i might just wait till a new ROM based on 3.70 comes out.

radios have nothing to do with it. they base roms off new ota so that you can get the benefits of the changes not the radios. You can flash the original radio that came with the evo and it would not affect the rom. The radio controls your signal strength and wimax strength. which is why there is a thread with all the different radios because each phone reacts different to each radio.....
Is anyone having an issue with the new D2LTE builds that have been built recently?
I have tried to flash a few (carbon and c-rom) and just get stuck at kernel splash page. I am on the newest TWRP(2.7), the lk3 modem/bootloader and wiped data, cache, dalvik, and reformatted my internal sd card.
If anyone else is experiencing this, what was done to resolve it?
Edit: I have now also tried
1. Restoring to original stock touchwiz 4.1.1
2. Wiping cache from original recovery
3.Rerooting
4.Restoring a backup of 4.3
5.Attempted to update to C-Rom, Carbonrom, Resurrection Remix -- No Luck Fails

I'd like to know myself. I'm stuck too. I can flash a 4.3 rom and everything works, but when I reboot, it gets stuck. All was fine until I flashed Wicked rom and flashed " MJ2 bootloader MJB" Now every time I reboot it gets stuck. Also If I try a reflash, the only way to get it to bootup is to format before flashing.
Try using Philz Touch as your recovery program.

I had cwm when I originally started out, switched to twrp to see if the recovery was the issue.
I assume you were running the latest version of cwm before you switched to twrp so it can't be the recovery.
Are you doing a full wipe of the system, cache, data, and Dalvik before installing the ROM?
Yea every time I wiped data, cache, dalvik , I even reformatted once. I have managed to boot up into tasl650AOKP which is a d2lte build but no other ROMs. I mean at this point it looks like I should just wait a bit to see if it is something with the ROMs interacting with my phone(as per all phones are made different)

Are you wiping the system before installing? Have you tried wiping system, dalvik, data, cache, install the rom, wipe and re-install the same ROM a second time without trying to boot the ROM in between the 1st and 2nd ROM install?

Yeah I gave it a shot still no dice. I keep seeing other people having similar issues, so I am still leaning it has to do with the differences in d2lte builds vs dtatt builds

d2att ROMs are okay? Just not any d2lte?

As I stated before I am able to boot int Task650AOKP(Which is a d2lte build), any of the others that I have tried have not worked. There are some updates out today, I am going to attempt again and post back results.
As a test, I flashed my i747m back to stock 4.1.2 via Odin. I then installed the latest version of Philz Touch for the d2lte and installed the d2lte version of Validus. Validus booted without any problems.
Edit: just tried the lastest nightly Pac-Rom and Resurrection ROM. Both ROMs had no problem booting to the desktop.

Thanks for the help, I actually was just able to boot into C-Rom by following the same steps except I am using TWRP. No idea really what caused the Roms to get stuck on boot. Quite annoying.
I had TWRP on my phone but I was having problems installing ROMs when I first got the phone in January. As soon as I switched to CWM or Philz, no problems at all except for ROMs based on a stock 4.3 ROM.
Just recently updated to nf1 using jovy's guide. I installed tweak 3.0 and all was working fine until I rebooted my phone and it went into a loop. Flashed darthstalker v7 and all was good and rebooted into a loop again. Pulled battery and phone started up normall. Anybody having the same issues?

Do a full wipe including system, data, cache, dalvik and last but
not least do a factory reset in recovery before flashing any roms.
Then flash Darthstalker 7 rom, it's the most error free full featured
custom rom currently available for our Note 3 phones.
Good luck!

Always do a full wipe and factory reset before flashing any roms. Sorry forgot to mention that.
Just dropped a rooted stock rom back on my t989 (from this thread), and I'm geting com.android.phone has stopped message. Came from Cyanogen, Infamous, and Jedi, no problems, but for some reason, the stock rom installed via twrp seems to fail. I need it more or less stock, and I'd really rather not Odin it. Any ideas?

Did you wipe system, cache, dalvik, cache, data, and android secure before flashing? If so, after flashing wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache and reboot

Yep. Per the instructions, performed all of the above wipes, as well as darkside super wipe and wipe before installing the ROM.
Also wiped cache and dalvik after flashing, but haven't tried wiping data after flash...I'll give that a try this evening.
Last night, out of necessity to have SOMETHING running on the device, I threw on AOKP, which runs without issue. I've seen a few other debloated/rooted stock T989 UVMC6 roms floating around, but the comment threads underneath them seem to indicate problems of various types.
If someone knows of a UVMC6 TW ROM that is known good, and can be installed via installed via TWRP, I'd be very interested, even if it still has the bloat. Its the wifes phone and she is a bit of a touchwiz nazi, but hates all the custom boot logos, etc, that come with roms like Infamous. Stock is where she is at.

AOSPA KitKat runs SOO much better than TW. You can change the boot animation to something else very easily.

I'd use the "infamous" wipes before flashing...just for anything touchwiz based. Not aosp. And don't use the darkside wipes...they are outdated.
Search Google or XDA..."t989 infamous wipes"

You can also just Odin stock 4.1.2 and debloat it yourself with titanium backup. Freezing bloat, no sense in uninstalling it.
I'm having some issues flashing any ROM. TWRP will not wipe data, or internal SD
For some reason, when I go to wipe data and factory reset, TWRP will say it was successful, but nothing ever gets wiped. It will only wipe system if I choose to. I've gotten a ROM to flash but when it boots up, all of the old apps and user data are still there and it makes everything crash. I've gotten into settings to do a reset, it reboots into recovery, runs the script, and still nothing wipes.
What I have tried:
Old TWRP, newest TWRP
CWM (seems to wipe but it won't get past the note 2 screen after flashing anything)
Wiping with CWM, flashing TWRP, then flashing a ROM (still loops after the note 2 screen)
Is there a terminal command I can use in TWRP to manually wipe things?
Thanks for any help I can get, I've flashed so many phones I can't remember but I've never had this issue
Maybe flash back to a stock ROM, factory wipe using stock recovery, then flash TWRP?

Well when it bootloops t the Note 2 screen, I have to flash a ROM with Odin to get it working again. I've flashed a stock ROM with Odin, flashed TWRP with Odin, tried the wipes and it never wipes anything... I'm lost...
Isn't there a format function in TWRP that is seperate from the factory reset or advanced wipes? I was also trying to find a terminal command to type in the terminal in TWRP... I'm a little stumped...
I'm sorry, I read that too fast... That may actually work, wipe it in the stock recovery, and just don't let it boot into the system before flashing other stuff... I'm gonna try that out... Thanks man, I'll post back about it...
Since you are flashing the phone with Odin, is it a stock 4.1.1 ROM you're flashing? Which custom ROM are you flashing to the phone?

The stock ROM I used is I317-ODIN-UCUCNJ1-Stock without the booloader packaged in, I'm still on the old bootloader. It's 4.4.2
The ROMS I've tried to flash was
Cyanide (Error 7, says incompatible data, please wipe the phone)
Resurrection Remix (Error 7, says incompatible data, please wipe the phone)
Latest CM10 Nightly
I got CM10 and Resurrection Remix to flash a couple times, but the phone boots and all the old apps and data, including the AT&T ones are still there, and the system keeps crashing. Then I change the recovery to CWM because it seems to wipe, change back to TWRP, flash the ROM and gapps again, but it bootloops at the Note 2 screen.
Should I try the 4.1.1 ROM and CWM? Whenever I'm going from a stock TW to non-TW I like to format everything, data, cache, system, and internal SD, but of course TWRP won't wipe the data or the internal SD.
It's probably because the bootloader and modem are too old for the roms. Recent roms will need updated bootloaders.
Ok, I had some more time to mess around with this today and figured it out. I feel kind of dumb but oh well, I got it.
TWRP was already loaded on, so I went to messing with it again. The 'Swipe to factory reset' was not wiping the data, and there was the 'Format Data' button right there in front of me. I did the factory reset, format data, rebooted recovery, wiped dalvik, cache, and system, then flashed the ROM and everything booted up just fine.
Thanks for all of the help!
