As the title says, my volume buttons doesnt work, i can live with that but i got a small problem .. i have MW Redux ROM installed on my Desire and if i want to change it to something else, the only way is to press the Power Button and go to Reboot to Recovery. Okey, but if i will flash a new ROM and something will go wrong, or the ROM doesnt have the Reboot to Recovery option, how can I go to recovery without this option or power up the phone and then press the buttons? I know if the ROM is installedn, there are apps to reboot to recovery BUT if i will be in the recovery mode itself and something go wrong like endless bootloop etc.. and i want to change the ROM or fix the problem in recovery, is there another way to go into recovery mode, like through a PC or something? Thanks

Power + back button wil get you to bootloader but you won't be able to select recovery. You can, however, go from bootloader to fastboot usb and enter recovery via adb on your computer

i just installed a custom rom and now i cant toch anything when it boots up. How do i get to recover my old rom back??
I installed virtuals btw and when i hold down power and vol down it doesnt boot into recovery is there a way to do the recovery with abd when hooked to the computer?
umm... i don't think this belongs in the dev section and you should edit post to merge doubles... but what method did you use to install the rom?
When u boot into bootloader via vol doen+power if you don't see recovery, select bootloader, then the recovery option from there. Use power button to select while in bootloader, use track pad to select in cwm recovery.
...and ya, next time post in Q&A.
This happened to me yesterday. I plugged the phone via USB while off then booted it went to recovery

In fastboot menu i cant start "reboot , reboot bootloader or power of" . Sometimes it works but generally not.

hi, both volume keys (up + down) are broken
i an now running stock 4.3
is there any way to root my phone without them ?
i have adb drivers installed and i can boot into bootloader mode but cannot select to go into recovery from there
Search the forum for toolkits from wugfresh or mskip. That is automatic rooting and flashing. Just plug your phone to the computer using the cable.

Adb doesnt work in fastboot. If I remember it correctly it will boot into the recovery right after flashing. If it doesnt just flash it first and then type: fastboot boot recovery recovery.img

There are some toolkits that you can use that bypasses having to do really anything on the boot up.
check out wugfresh nexus root toolkit
thank you for your help, but all options in this toll kit reboots my device into fastboot mode from there in need to change the selection using volume keys
that do not work
if i can only root my phone in order to install recovery from there i can continue to install a costume rom ......

your problem begins with unlocking bootloader in order to flash via fastboot.... you need volume key to select "yes"
I don't believe the OMAP flash method of unlocking the bootloader requires volume keys. You could then use adb to reboot into the bootloader and boot into a custom recovery.
That said, I highly recommend against unlocking and rooting unless you get your volume keys fixed. If something goes wrong and sends you for a bootloop, you may have a hard time recovering without functional volume keys.

Hello thanks for reading.
First the device was running cynogenmod mod then I try to update it by the recovery and didn't work so I tried doing wipe for dalvik and that either didn't work and took a long time my mistake here that I turned off the device so now when I turn it on it is stock to LG LOGO and if I try to enter download mode it goes to fastboot command.

Are you able to enter in TWRP (or cwm)?
if you have a custom recovery try the steps below:
1. Turn off the device
2. Volume down + power up
3. When LG logo display release just power up for a second, than press again power up...
4. Choose "yes" twice (if you have custom recovery will not do a factory reset, will just enter in custom recovery).

Dear all,
im using oppo find 7 and now i have problem to enter a recovery, when i press power button + vol down, screen show fastboot, all this happen after i root my phone using KingRoot, im planning to install CWM to replace recovery. but also fail..:crying::crying::crying:
NEED HELP FROM PROS... THANKS A LOT....
Did you try pwr + vol+ buttons? Anyway if u have just rooted you need to go into fastboot, flash the recovery and then boot into recovery. Make sure u unlock bootloader when in fast boot. Else recovery will be wiped. Also i suggest using TWRP instead of cwm.
