yes i tried that but slimbean wont let me

What happens when you press the button combo? Does it do anything at all like go to fastboot mode or it just tries to boot the ROM?

no luck, its just proceeding to the ROM, i cant enter fastboot or flashboot or download mode even if i combine any keys

Weird, I don't know how you would lose fast boot. I'm not sure if this will work but can you plug into your computer and boot the phone up and try to use adb to boot into fast boot. I think its adb reboot-fastboot or adb reboot fastboot. Or try adb reboot-recovery or adb reboot recovery. I can never remember if you need the hyphen in adb.

maybe i guess it was bricked im stuck on the Slimbean logo like forever, sorry but what tool can i use to enter the adb fastboot ? noob here thanks for the response anyway

Follow Step A and Step C #1-2 from here to get adb and fast boot setup on your computer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895 After you get it setup, you go into the platform tools folder which you will download as part of Step C and right click and click command prompt, then enter those commands I gave you. How did you root and install a recovery the first time?

Here's what just happened
my brother gave me this phone,
it has a slimbean rom which is my first time seeing that rom
i just go to settings
and click the factory reset
when the phone boots up i can only access the settings no other thing after that
i managed to get into the recovery mode of that rom on the settings
and install the rom again which is still on the sd card
then after the installation is completed when it boots up its now stuck on boot screen
and im screwed
i tried the universal naked driver but no luck device is still not recognized

I see. You're not supposed to use factory reset from the settings. You should only be doing that from recovery. I'm really not sure what else to do, my knowledge is limited on this. Hopefully someone else with more experience can chime in. I'm sorry I'm not able to help you on this. You tried using the platform tools to open a command prompt?

yep maybe thats my last luck hope it works, you think usb jig might work on this ? well thank you so much for your time and for trying to help me may god bless you always

No, theres no reason to use a USB jig. It's driver issues or something else simple, I'm just not site what. Not trying to get on you but it helps to know what your doing before you mess with things. If someone else is able to help you figure it out, do a lot of research in the general stickies before you do anything else. I hope you are able to get it going again and sorry I couldn't help you further.

Flash stock images in fast boot. You can't mount USB storage on this phone anyways.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
happen to me too....
I flashed an Pauls update instead of core and messed my phone up.
flash stock image then use ADB and push the rom to the sd/update.zip - then flash.
That should fix it.
You're phone is not bricked. Reflash the factory images using fastboot. http://groups.google.com/group/andr...hread/2dde45a058a737b9/43c3a418144fc6c5?pli=1

First of all naughty naughty please do not post questions in the development forum. I moved it over to Q&A
Ok now thats over with follow *THIS* guide to get fastboot drivers set up on your pc. Some users spend hours trying to figure it out (myself included the first time) and that guide is detailed. Install the pdanet program on your comp to get the needed drivers then boot your phone into fastboot mode and connect to your pc via usb cable. If it doesnt install the automatically then you can do it manually via the Device Manager.
Once the drivers are installed open up a command prompt and goto the folder you put the fastboot.exe file in. Type fastboot devices and it should return a number which means your phone is recognised.
Next goto *THIS* thread and follow the instructions to fastboot the Stock images back to your device and restore your phone.
Once everything is back and working READ every instruction thoroughly before doing anything in future Luckily this phone is next to impossible to brick

Did you install the pdanet drivers to your pc? Did you update the drivers in the Device Manager? Please list your exact procedure you followed and where you are getting stuck.

Why are you trying to boot up the phone if you know it doesnt boot?
You need to do everything through the fastboot screen. Hold Volume Up and Volume Down buttons while pressing the power button until the big green Android icon appears and it will say fastboot on the screen.
Have your Device Manager open (from settings on your pc) so that you can dee the item pop up in the list that you need to update the driver for.
PdaNet drivers are the best ones that work for fastboot.
Mark.
when i go into fastboot mode.. then go to device manager the only thing i can see with a explanation mark is android 1.0.....
theres no samsung device or nothing

Yes thats the item you need to update the driver for.
Make sure you have installed the samsung drivers (and maybe pdanet drivers if you want to be safe) on your pc first. Then double click on the Android 1.0 item and then select Driver, Update Driver. Click Browse My Computer and then Let me pick from a list.
It should give you a few options. If you see it then select Android Adb Device but if not try one odf the samsung adb interface drivers.
Mark.
mskip i LOVE YOU!!!
starting to get somewhere got the drivers installed...
ok i typed this command in cmd where the stock img is
fastboot-windows flash all flash-all.sh
i get this
sending 'all'<0 KB>....OKAY
writing 'all'.....FAILED <remote : Unkown Partition>
Any ideas?
try just flashing the image zip.
Code:
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip

Erased EVERYTHING

I accidently erased everything from the KF2, all I have on it now is the recovery.
How can I get a rom back on the device?
When I plugged it in the computer under Device Manager it says Portable Devices >> F:/
When I go to my computer to try to enter f:/ its inaccessible.
How can I fix this?
Thanks!
Same issue here. Understood the instruction to wipe everything before installing ROM to mean "System" and "Internal Storage" as well. Now the downloaded ROM and "gapps" zip files are gone...
Found something called "ADB Sideload" in TWRP, could that help?
Like the OP, would appreciate some help. Kindle is a brick for now...

Back Up & Running
First You need a Fastboot Cable.
Run The Recovery Tool. (Options 1 then 2)
When its completed unplug the Fastboot Cable and press and hold the power button until the KF2 turns off.
Turn it back on and you are all set to Root it!
Rooting
[ONE-CLICK] Automated Freedom-Boot and TWRP installer
OK, thanks LEGEND94, that helped !
Only difference to above: did not use a Fastboot cable to get into fastboot mode, rather fmkilo's technique here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2117224
Held off button to shut down and restarted without having to do anything else, did not have to type any command to get out of fastboot mode.
Am restarting root and ROM flashing, hopefully will work this time.
Thanks again,

even though legend was OP, his method was a bit overkill, but totally fine.
Once you have recovery, or even the bootloader, you should NEVER need to restore. From the bootloader you can get into fastboot now, and from fastboot you can get the recovery.
As for putting files on, I'm not sure. I could look it up but you both got your issues solved. If someone coming here does need the help, PM me and I can look it up, but from what i remember on other android devices, usually the recovery somewhere has an option to mount USB like a storage device (probably bad wording there) but basically just like when you "turn on usb storage" in the android OS.
I am ASSUMING TWRP has something similar, and if I'm wrong, I'm sure you can always ADB to push the files onto the device from your PC in fastboot mode.

Unfortunately usb Mount doesn't work in the kf2 twrp. I would love the option.
You CAN adb sideload from twrp though.

One change to the above statement. I did have to get out of fastboot mode, but it was confusing how because the terminal emulator was now gone.
I did this instead via a command window with the Fire plugged into the computer. I sent the "fastboot -i0x1949 oem idme bootmode 1" command while in the root directory for the KF2_SRT_10.2.3 restore package, there is a fastboot.exe file there.
Hope that helps.

Ouya Bricked ?

Hello !
Here's my prob :
I installed CWM Recovery on my OUYA, and then i wanted to flash a ROM via recovery.
Unfortunately, i've done a full wipe while in recovery, and restarted the console.
Now it's turning on, with the power button on, black screen, and identifyed as an MTP USB device.
I tried the alt + Sysreq + i trick, but it doen't seems to work here ...
Any chance to get it back to life in other way ?
Keep trying alt + sysreq + i trick my takes about 50 times before the light on the ouya flashes then i have to hit the home key some times to see anything

Try these timings. I had the same issue and these worked for me. The keyboard trick is currently your only hope.
I keep pressing alt + sysreq + i keys at the same time takes me about 30 times to get to recovery the light will flash one time then i know im in recovery some times iget the ouya smile with a ! mark some time a black screen then i press home button to get to recovery push the home button again it goes away i have done about three ouya.
Problem solved.
My ouya doesn't loved my Microsoft Keyboard...
I used a generic on, and it works directly
Ouya saved
Another advice : if it doesn't work, try another keyboard !
Ouya Bricked Need Help Reward For The Fixer
Here is my Issue I installed The CWM and flashed over a few ROMS but really wanted to try out the CM10. I had all my files backed up but some how they were all deleted and when I turn on my machine I get the Cyanogen boot loop and I can do the keyboard trick print screen/ Alt / I but there is no files to recover and I have no way to load any ROM directly to my internal nand flash unless there is something I am missing.
I am so upset I with thy would have put a sd card slot on this thing. Can anyone help me to try to recover putting any stock ROM back on my machine or is there a way to get my PC to read my device to load the ROM to my internal HD?
Please any help and instructions would be greatly appreciated.
I need some serious help here. Thanks to anyone who can get me back up and running again I will even send the person who has the solution one of my devices that run XBMC like a champ. Here is my site for anyone who is up for the challenge. www.xbmcandroidtv.com the EXOON Q2 Plus is the device I will send to the person who solves my dilemma.
I have tried the keyboard trick but all I get it to do is load into CWM and there is nothing to load. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance and eager to get my OUYA back up and running.

You can do it from CWM, but you don't have to be there. Depends on what you've done to your system. If you flashed CM10 and now it's detected as an MTP device your best bet is to reboot into recovery and 'adb reboot bootloader' then use fastboot commands. That's what worked for me.

Ah, stock recovery.... You could go into Apply Update From ADB. Then type "adb reboot bootloader" then you can type "fastboot boot boot.img" to boot successfully into CM10.
You can put the boot.img for CM10 in the same folder as fastboot.exe to make things easier.

I put the Ouya on sideload from adb.
Then i open adb on my pc, check to make sure it finds the Ouya and then i try to adb reboot bootloader. and that error comes up. if i try to load an .img file from the same place it just says <waiting for device> and doesn't ever move.

If it says <waiting for device> then its probably a driver issue with fastboot. When you reboot into the bootloader go into device manager and check the driver again. I also had this issue.

Nexus 7 2013 stuck at Google screen

So, I was using my Nexus during my class today and it was working great.
After class, I walked to my next class with the tablet in my hand, I did not drop it or anything, when I got to my next class the lock screen was unresponsive.
I was still able to take a screen shot, so the tablet wasn't frozen, but the touch screen was not working at all. All of the hardware buttons worked fine.
I let it sit for about 2 hours and the problem persisted.
I just did a soft reset, holding the power button down for 10 seconds, and it shutdown and rebooted, but its now stuck on the Google screen.
Anyone know what is wrong or how I can fix it?
Thank you

Have you tried entering bootloader?
[Info] Guide to entering safe mode, bootloader, stock recovery
I really doubt you are in bricked mode or it wouldn't even show google. If it is stuck on google it is having trouble loading the OS.
Most likely you can go into fastboot mode and just flash your /system and it will begin working again with no loss of data.

Did you specifically try to get into bootloader mode using the post I mentioned.
You need to Press Power+VolDown continuously until the bootloader menu comes up?
The fact that you are getting to the Google screen at all means your bootloader is still working so I find it hard to understand why you wouldn't be able to get into bootloader mode.

Well since you are getting stuck on Google, that means your ROM (/system) is not loading.
I would flash boot.img and system.img from the factory restore.
http://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#razor
The restore is in .tar.gz format and within the tar there is a zip file. Within that zip file is boot.img and system.img. You need to extract those (ungzip, then untar, then unzip) and place them in your adb directory.
Boot your tablet into bootloader mode, connect the USB cable, make sure it is recognized as android bootloader interface.
Type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
assuming no errors
fastboot reboot
If on the reboot you still get stuck, push and hold Power for 30-60 seconds and try again.
Fails a second time, something more serious is probably wrong.
If you get stuck on X instead of Google, that means something may be wrong with your user data. Try the 60 second reboot thing again. If it is still stuck on X, boot into recovery and do a wipe data factory reset. See previous post for how to get into recovery.

You don't need to enable USB debugging for fastboot mode.
You just need to press Power+VolDown until you get into the bootloader. That is fastboot mode. It will install Android Bootloader Interface (usb debugging does android debug bridge interface)
I actually didn't realize you weren't unlocked. If that is the case, the unlock process will erase your userdata, so you might as well just do the full factory restore.
First goto bootloader mode using Power+VolDown and connect USB, type
fastboot oem unlock
You'll see a question on the tablet screen, Press VolUp to go to yes and Power to select.
On the command prompt in windows, you should see it erase userdata and cache.
On the bootloader screen it should have "Start" highlighted (if not, use VolDown to cycle until you see "Start"). Press Power to accept. You should see Google, then it'll go into recovery and format userdata and cache. It'll then try to boot and since /system is having issues, you'll be stuck in Google again.
Go back into bootloader mode, hold Power+VolDown for a while until you see the bootloader screen.
Now grab the factory image as above, gunzip, untar, and you should have a folder razor-jss15j
Copy these files from your adb directory to the razor-jss15j directory
adb.exe
fastboot.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
In command prompt in the razor-jss15j directory, type
flash-all
It should output a bunch of stuff, essentially writing a factory image to your tablet.
When it is done, it'll reboot and hopefully you'll get the initial setup window.
I wrote this up from memory, so hopefully I didn't forget stuff. If something doesn't seem right just ask.
Thanks for all of your help.
It really means a lot you took the time to help me.
I'm going to Best Buy today and I am going to see if I can do an exchange.
If not, I will try this later.
Again, thank you

Can't get Lg G7 into Download Mode

Here is some background.
I ordered an LG G7 ULM off of ebay a few days ago. When I got it, I noticed that it was an LG G7 Sprint that was converted to ULM. (Which is typical of eBay). I decided to flash the latest ULM firmware to the device by downloading the latest kdz and flashing with LGup. What I didn't realize until later is that I flashed the "Brightpoint" ULM version. Knowing this, I wanted to flash the non Brightpoint version, but when I try getting into download mode, it doesn't work. It only shows the G7 logo, then shows the battery charging symbol.
Additionally, I am in USB debugging mode and have OEM unlock on in developer options.
Things I have tried:
Holding volume up and then plugging USB
Holding volume down and plugging in USB
Holding volume up and power button
Holding volume down and power button
Reboot fastboot via adb
Also, when i try using LGup without download mode it gives and error "spc code does not match"
Does anyone know how to fix this?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/cross-flash-oreo-pie-firmwares-lg-g7-g7-t3915303
If you try ti flash when phone is not in download mode you get "spc code does not match" error.
First method is correct
"Holding volume up and then plugging USB" If that doesn't work try adb reboot download (I don't think there is download option with fastboot command or not supported by LG G7)
If you have ADB installed, connect phone with USB cable
1)Check your phone is listed in with command
Adb devices
2) then run this command
adb reboot download

1. Adb devices shows my device.
2. I tried the adb reboot download. It just reboots normally. Shows lg logo then my phone is booted up.
None of the fastboot commands word because I can't get into download mode.

If you have one of the models with OEM unlock inside the developer menu, you're wasting your time because it does nothing. I don't even know why it's there because the LG G7 ThinQ does not have fastboot mode baked in.
Try running a fastboot command and you will see. You have to get past the bootloader to access anyting to do a root and this is not possible on most of the phones here . Also you do not run these commands from download mode I don't believe, they would usually be done when in fastboot or recovery mode.
The only mode you're probably going to get into is download mode. It would be for manually upgrading firmware. You can go into that mode by holding power and Volume +. I tried for three days straight until I stumbled upon another Canadian who was able to root his phone but he had to use a special box and connectors.
There is no fastboot or recovery. All you can find is download mode and safe boot. I wish you the best of luck but if you have the same variant that I do and most of Canada does if it was purchased here then you will not be able to access fastboot because it does not exist. Don't take my word for it though, do your research and you will see I am speaking the truth. Or you can kill yourself and rip out your hair trying to get fastboot to to load but you will not succeed in doing anything but ending up bald. Luckily I shave my head or else I would have done that. Good luck on your research and if you should get fastboot to do anyting please post it in here for everyone to see so we can praise you and root our own phones also. Cheers my friend.
I didn't read back deeply but it sounds like you're attempting what I did, and use modded boot.img files to further gain access to what we need to root the phone. This is true as for what we need to do, but most who have flashed these images have either ruin their devices totally or had to reflash stock firmware. There were a few that got lucky and let's talk firmware fixed the issue but most phones that broke are probably in a landfill now. Please do share if you succeed in anyting we haven't already tried. I tried flashing to a firmware that does have fast boot capability but it did not work because fastboot is built into the phones and the firmware for any particular country has no effect on whether you can root your phone or not. Just before this I mentioned the boot.img method and I'm guessing the command you are running is something like fastboot flashroot_a boot.img and then typing the same command a second time but only with a letter b instead of an a. This method will not work either so please share if you discover a third method that no one else has discovered yet. I would donate money to you because you would basically be the developer of the root method that actually works.

Thanks for the reply.
I was reading into flashing the laf.img file which would fix the download mode not working, but I'm unable to gain root, so that isn't really an option.
I guess for now, I'm stuck with this firmware version. But, at least I'm on the latest pie version... Hopefully there will be a fix for it, or maybe someone will know how to fix this.
I have heard that you can buy for a service to fix this for around $30. But I don't think I would trust someone doing changes to my phone without a guarantee.
Help me
I have the same problem too, my phone is Verizon variant and I can't get to download mode
