[Q] SIM Unlock Code From T-Mobile Not Working For T999L - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I requested and received a SIM Unlock Code From T-Mobile for my S3 T999L (LTE version). However it does not work. I have tried 4 times. Questions:
1. Could it be possible that the code is correct but the "PERSO SHA256" setting is set to OFF? That's the setting from the *#197328640# ServiceMode trick. I did try to unlock the phone using *#197328640# unsuccessfully. I read somewhere on the internet that it should be ON to unlock using SIM code. Are these two really related?
2. How many more times do I have to enter the SIM code before it is permanently locked?

Help With Entering SIM Unlock Code

I have an HTC S621 and have obtained the SIM Unlock code. The only problem is that I can't get my hands on a different carrier's SIM to get a chance to enter the code.
Is there any other way to enter the unlock code?
The phone is also app locked, but I can't get the 'SDA_ApplicationUnlock' to work. I keep getting a message saying 'Phone is not unlockable'. I read somewhere else that I will have to do a SIM unlock before I can get the CID unlock to work.
So, any help entering that code without a different SIM would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Can't Unlock from Rogers: Invalid MMI

I'm trying to unlock my Rogers SGS3, so I can pick up a paygo card while down in the U.S later this month. I purchased and received my unlock code through CellUnlocker.net yesterday.
However, no matter what I do I can't get any of the dial codes they give to work. They all result in "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." errors.
I've tried reverting to a backup of my rooted Rogers stock ROM, as other threads I've seen suggest that dial codes don't work on AOSP-based ROMs, but the results are still the same. *#06# works to retrieve my IMEI (worked under Jellybam 3.3.0 as well), and *#0011# works to bring up the Service Mode menu.
However, all the codes given by CellUnlocker.net in their email don't:
Different phones have different Unlock Code Input Instructions, Try the following Instructions in Order:
Method #1 Insert a Non accepted simcard in your phone and power on. Once finished loading your phone will ask you to enter a code, enter the Unlock Code
Note: Non Accepted Simcard is any simcard not from the original provider
Method #2 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE# (8 digit unlock code)
Method #3 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #0111*UNLOCKCODE# (8 digit unlock code)
Method #4 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press #7465625*638*# Once prompted for code, enter the 8 digit Unlock Code.
If Phone says, "Code Accepted" or "Network Unlock Successful" or "Not Yet Personalized" your phone is fully Unlocked
--------------------------------------------
How do I know my Phone's Network is Fully Unlocked?
Go to the dial screen on your phone, and press *#7465625#
A menu will be displayed that will resemble the following...
1. [ ] Network lock
2. [ ] Subset lock
3. [ ] SP lock
If everything if OFF, then your phone is fully unlocked.

I haven't yet tried inserting a non-Rogers SIM card, because I don't know anyone with a phone that uses micro-SIMs. I'm also a bit wary to go and spend $20 on a Roam Mobility SIM card if I'm not going to be able to get it to work.
Any idea what might be the issue?
To verify that I am indeed running a stock ROM (as I restored from a backup I had labelled "Stock"):
Android version: 4.1.1
Baseband version: I747MVLDLK4
Kernel version: 3.0.31-538866
Build number: JRO03L.I747MVLDLK4
I believe you can't unlock without a different sim card.

Yeah. You're gonna need another SIM. Stop by a T-Mobile store & ask them politely. They will probably let you use one.

Thanks for the comments. I went and picked up a Roam Mobility SIM card at lunch, and putting it in I was prompted to enter my unlock code.
All seems to be working now.
Just search around here there is a free way to unlock your phone. Lots of people have done it successfully

Network Unlocking

Hi can someone please help me.. So i am trying to network unlock my phone.. I have already obtained the unlock code. But i have no idea how to input the code that i have without a non-tmobile sim... My phone is t-mobile.. Is there any way i can input the unlock code without a non-tmobile sim card??
If someone could please let me kno hw to it would be great. Thanks in advance
I don't think so. When you put in the other SIM card it triggers a prompt for the code. Easiest thing to do is borrow a friend's sim, or you can buy sims on eBay for $.99. Or just keep the code until you have the other SIM card for the other network you plan to use it on. If your not using it on another network the unlocking is kinda pointless.

What's your T-mobile model?
There is no other way to unlock without a non-T-mobile SIM as far as i know. You may follow the below instructions:
1. Switch ON your mobile with a Not ACCEPTED SIM Card.
2. If your mobile asks for a PIN code, then enter your SIM card PIN and press OK.
3. T-Mobile Affinity will ask to enter an "unlock code".
4. Your mobile is now unlocked.
I also followed these steps to unlock my mobile. I got the unlock code from TheUnlockArena.com here they provided permanent unlock code.

Unlock issues with DN4 rom 4.4.4 with att unlock code

So I have managed to unlock it with the unlock code from att.
I used this access number to get into service mode
*#0011#
back
input key Q
back
input key 0000
and just wait
it will bring you into the service mode.
So I have a att note 2 running DN4 rom 4.4.4.
I requested a unlock code from att. Tried to enter unlock code ,unlock unsuccessful message appears .
Tried some steps I found online but still nothing.
When I dial *#197328640# it says connection problem invalid mmi code.
any thoughts?
I'm using an active t-mobile card to unlock device.
Most of the time, when having problems unlocking, you need to go back to stock rom of the device. Then if the problem still exists, you most likely have the wrong unlock code.

Called Sprint for unlock code

I called Sprint and asked for the unlock code which I believe they gave to me but now I have no idea what to do with it. They gave me three numbers.
1) six digit unlock code
2) eight digit PUK number
3) four digit pin
What the hell am I suppose do with this now? From all the other tutorials I saw, there was only one 16 digit unlock code?!?!?
Thanks,

Someone must have requested an unlock code before? Thinking of moving to Cricket and they just tell me I need to put the new SIM card in and the phone will ask for the codes once it reboots? Not sure about that as I've put in an AT&T SIM in and got nothing, only "no SIM - Sprint"

Thought of it and already asked but they won't give instructions, only the unlock code. Sprint told me to talk to the other carrier for those. I did that, and they just said to pop the new SIM in and it would ask for code upon reboot. I'm just worried it won't since it didn't for the AT&T SIM. Hoping it might have been a faulty SIM or something but I guess I'll find out in the next few days after getting the Cricket SIM.
From everything I've read, you can't unlock the LS980 with just the code. You have to use one of the SIM unlock procedures in various threads on this forum which includes rooting and replacing the /carrier directory and setting the proper permissions.
On more generic G2 phones the SIM is unlocked with the dialer code 2945#*[model number]# but that dialer code does not work on the LS980.
6-digit code = security code for CDMA programming
LS980 already unlocked for GSM use
The GSM is locked for domestic use. Need to follow instructions in thread for permanent unlock.

Thanks guys. Ended up having to reteach myself how to root after being away from it for a few years. Installed Cloudyfa G2 2.2. Running great. Thanks for help.
