I wish you a great day..
I have a Sony Xperia Z1 and I find it quite hard to charge.. The problem is, when i am using waze/gps in car my charger is not able to charge device and it is still loosing power. (same problem with N4 or HTC One)
Is there any good (not expensive) charge that does the job? Thank you very much
It's not the price of the charger that is important, it's the output (measured in Amps).
You need to find charger that has an output of 2 amps or more.
Anker make some very very good ones, they are high quality and not very expensive.

i have this for almost a year http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Ericsson-Original-AN401-Handsets/dp/B0042AP7F2 even before i had the xperia z1 and i am completely satisfied.
The gps is running and sometimes data too and the battery in the worst case scenario stays the same.
And you'll be able to charge faster using the magnetic cable from my experience

Faster using a pc usb socket? It should make no difference with a charger.

Isn't it just a USB power plug ?
If so it will be surelly faster than charging from your PC but I wouldn't pay 17 dollars for it. I mean, it's identical to the s2 orignal charger only with a removable usb cabble right ?
That looks like the charger for my old Captivate. My SGS2 charger does not look like that. OEM chargers should be faster than generic chargers because Samsung hardware doesn't allow the generic ones to charge as fast.
Yeah you are right but why they have called it a Rapid charger ????

Okkkk buddy... Then why they have given it rapid tag...doesn't it stand for fast charging???

It looks like a scam!
if you have your samsung original charger a custom kernel you might want to change the USB voltage settings while charging.
The problem with fast charging it is because it reduce the battery life. Its cool to charge the phone fully in no time but in short-mid term it is not something you should do
doesnt harm the phone or battery???

Not on short term.
But if you do that everyday the battery will suffer and will loose effective power.
Also if you force an higher usb port voltage on the phone make sure you dont use a computer usb port as electrical issues may occurs.

The sgs2 doesn't even use the oem at full capacity (1000Mah) it only chages @ 450 Mah because of samsung's software limiting the input. Use a custom kernel such as siyah to enable faster charging @ 650 Mah which speeds up the charging to about 2-3hrs

mate the best cure for slow charging times is a desktop charger and a spare battery you can even take it to the next level and get
2x 2000mah batteries
1x genuine samsung desktop battery charger/stand
thats what i do and its so nice not having to wait the 3+ hours it takes from empty to max , i abuse the phone , then just swap batterys and put the empty one on charge
seriously samsung gave us a removeable battery and a micro sd slot something thats getting rare these days in high end phones so grab a spare battery and a memory card and make the most of them lmao
edit
i spent approx £50 on batterys and a charger from amazon and its the best thing i done i literally never have to have my phone plugged in at all
Mate..how much time desktop charger takes for 2000mh battery ????

Just find a usb charger with the same amperage. Its just a power supply, the phone smart charges itself.

What the heck is smart charging?
It would be good to get a 1.5A charger which I dunno

What I mean is, it doesn't matter if the charger is for a Sony, Samsung, Motorola. If it has a usb port and is close to the same amps as stock you can use it.

Sorry for the half message.
True ,I understood your message , I just don't know which will be the cheap and best USB charger which gives at least 1.5A output

Just go to the store and read the labels to see which charger has the best specs for the best price. I use a Nokia charger on my phone that I've been using since I owned an N85. It goes to 1,2A. My Xperia S didn't have a charger in the package, just a USB-cable. But that Nokia charger works a lot better than most Samsung chargers I've seen (those are tiny and only go up to 500mA). Tiny chargers might look easier to take along, but you better get one that's a bit bigger and saves time on the socket.
Can't really help you on choosing a particular model, we're from completely different parts of the world. Just know that you can't really do anything wrong, the worst you could do is buy a charger that's a bit slow if you don't look at the specs.
sony fast charger (ep850)

1,5A is too high for a phone, 1.0A or 1.2A will be nice. the original charger is 0.85A and car chager is 1.2A

Should get either this one or some other 1.5A charger
I had once charged my phone using a galaxy tab charger (2.0A) and the charging from 20 to 100 was in around one hour !(charging at around 1400mA)

When ever I use Netflix or play mc4 I plug my phone on the charger but it always losses battery. Is there any way to fix this? I am on ak kernel diamond. V17. I have heard of a thing undervolting. Would that help?

You're simply using more power than you can gain by charging. Are you charging via wall plug or USB?

Even then, your USB port can only output so much power. What you can try is Ai Charger which increases the power output of your USB port.
AiCharger
Otherwise, just use the wall charger provided.
P.S. If you have a desktop in front of you why don't you just watch Netflix there? Bigger screen, better sound and a better overall experience.
As far as the game goes, why do people invest in such games. The future of gaming is not in the mobile platform, and in fact those aren't even real games rather just re-skins of counterparts.
The charger is charging my s4 super fast. Will this mean my battery life will be shorter or is the stock charger very powerful?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I don't think it's the charger as my phone charges just as fast in the car, but I think these phones have a quick charge option when they are not connected to a pcm
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
It charges fast because it's charging at a rate of 2 amps instead of the standard 1 amp on most older phones. As long as you're using the stock charger and cable intended for the S4, it shouldn't have any negative effect on your battery life.
So it will charge fast and the battery will last long? That's a win win

Hi everyone!
So my new Nexus 7 came perfect out of the box and I am in complete tablet bliss . The charger block that came with makes a very loud buzzing sound when powered, so I have not been using it. I do now want to return my entire device just because of that charger because my tablet is a good one.
Does anyone know if the charger from the Grouper tablet is the same output and wattage as the new? I have been using my official iPhone brick rated at 5v - 1A and the official Motorola brick rated at 5.1v - 850mA. Neither of them seem to charge the device at a proper rate. I was considering buying the official Asus charger for the first edition from Amazon because I don't think the new one is on sale yet.
Any thoughts or experiences?

Any 5 volt charger of at least 1.35 amps capacity should work. Even a 20 amp PC power supply would be fine. You would need a specific resistance on the data pins for the tablet to recognize it as a high current source though. Safest is the old nexus 7 charger. We know that will work in high current mode.

I actually just located a thread in the Accessories forum discussing this subject. Apologies for not seeing that their first.
