Anyone have any ideas on why my note 2 will not roam it use to no problem and then I uodated to 4.3 and now it wont have another similar post but this one pertains to roaming so I went back to 4.1.3 and still wont can sprint disable roaming on thier end for my phone or push sonethi g to it becuase theu called the other day having problems with mt aorave telling me to turn off roaming and set it to cdma only but of course I didnt but ive changed the prl and still stuxk on sprint and also just bought roam control thinking maybe I can get somewhere bexuase where im at it will say I have 3-4 bars and as soon as I make or take a call it drops after 10-15 seconds and no service for a minite or two then the 3-4 bars come back up what I was wondering is if sprint can disavle roamong for my device on thier end ?? And if anyone has a clue how I can get my roaming back
Since I updated to 4.3, I also have issues getting my phone to roam. The only solution is to reboot and wait. Kills my battery doing all that dang scanning.
Luckily, the Roam Control guys have found a workaround for our Note 2's finally so I think I'm gonna finally root 4.3, say goodbye to Knox, and install it again. People seem to be getting it working using S4 settings.

For some reason any internet browser I try with 3g wont work at all. I have also noticed that 3g isnt working with any application. The symbol appears but nothing works. I have tried reflshing and updating the profile and PRL but no luck. Can anyone help me out please.
I'm also having a near nonexistant 3g ever since PRL update.
my PRL won't update
but I noticed Sprint was acting strangely last night
and it was effecting Sprint/Nextel/Boost as a whole
I think something is still up, because my texts are lagging
and when I make phone calls it takes like 10-15 seconds for me to hear it ring
and I know it's not just my phone. my cousin's Boost was the doing the same
as well as my friend Yesenia's Sprint
Sounds like a radio issue. Do you keep getting roaming warnings?

I have been running the ICS leak for quite some time now and haven't had any major problems with it until now. Ever since they launched LTE in my area I have been having trouble with my phone not receiving calls. When I finally talk to the person that was trying to call me, they say that it would ring twice and then go to voicemail. My phone never rings and I don't receive any notifications about missed calls. I have also noticed that when it does this, my data no longer works at all. If I toggle airplane mode, it will snap the phone out of it.
This problem seems to be growing in frequency. ATT tried to sell me some BS about the phone gets clogged with interference from travelling through low signal areas and they re-registered my phone on the network and told me to give it a try. My phone is still having this issue. LG had no clue what was going on with my phone.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be going on and what I can do to fix this?
New rom? Just in case something did happen with the rom somehow.

Voice data is not sent over the LTE network but instead is sent over EDGE, HSUPA or HSDPA (gsm) networks. This is because LTE was designed to handle data only. Currently a few mobile operators are begging to launch voice over LTE capabilities (VoLTE). However ATT does not support VoLTE capabilities so whenever you place or receive a call your handset will switch to the gsm network to handle voice. After the call has ended your handset usually takes a few seconds to automatically switch back to LTE if available. During the time your phone is switching back networks your data will be inaccessible. If your phone does not switch back or your data never returns then you can toggle on/off airplane mode to reset it as you have mentioned doing. This should not be happening very often, unlike what you describe. What I would suggest is flashing HoNo's CWM official V20c ICS from att. This will update your phones baseband and firmware for your radios and I've also heard is more stable and has improved battery life. Hope I could help.

I had the same problems with the leak at home where I have a weak signal. Never had any problems with CM9 or GB. When I switched to the official rom all those problems went away. So I think it was just a baseband issue with the leak.

We ( my wife and I) got the same issue... With Bell.
So we sent both phone ( GB by the way non root ) to bell to get them repair ...
Sent back the phone... 1 h later ... got the same issue .. so they ( futuretel in Markham Ont Canada) dont find the issue, they just reflash the phone.
sent it and ... weeks later got it back ... lost it again ... but they change hardware and also reflash.
Now it's my turn ...
I'm still waiting for my phone because when i got it back, got issue ( probably firmware ) because I lost the speaker and speakerphone ... so if someone call me i was not able to ear them...
Sent back the phone again for repair and now i'm waiting.
Update my wife phone 2 day's ago with ICS from LG( bell ) and I dont think she got the issue.
If it's happening again, LG will have to step in because it's 2 repair for the same issue.
Since we are not alone in this situation we will be able to remove the hypothesis
of interference in our house!
And again ... when I was talking with someone from Bell support, I told them I would like to try custom Rom if the issue is still there...
The person agree with me... yes weard from someone from bell...
Other than that ... it would be good for people to "catlog" the drop signal / no voice service...
Some one have a good tool that can track that specific issue ?
Thanks!
Hi all,
I keep my mobile data deactivated whenever I'm not using it, and coming from the S3 which made it very convenient to toggle the mobile data on and off, the Note 2 has been hugely inconvenient.
The problem is that when I manually turn mobile data back on in the Settings, mobile data just doesn't turn on. The only way to get it to reactivate is to cycle in and out of airplane mode once data's been activated.
Is this a problem for anyone else, and if not, anyone have any clue why this might be happening? I've got 2 Note 2s and it happens on both.
The only thing I've done to these phones is root and flash TWRP. They are the Ting variant of the Sprint Note 2 if that might make a difference.
Any help appreciated!

Whompasaurus (currently at version 2.9) has had for the last several updates I've tried. Most of the ROMS being updated support it.

It has happen to me only on a few time but not consistant enough for me to worry. I do the same as you and turn it on when needed.

It happens occasionally with LTE but more so dropping to 3G and LTE not coming back untill I toggle Airplane Mode. I toggle my Data On/Off daily and never have an issue with it not coming back on. Then again I use the data toggle built into the 15 toggle mod.

Loosing my modem/mind all together
I seem to keep loosing my modem on any version of jelly bomb (on the latest now 15.3) running Ma-7 currently but happens on any modem I try.
What is happening is data/call capability drops and does not come back until I re-flash a modem, and when I say drop, I mean totally dead not even able to make or receive phone calls. No 3G 4G and it shows signal bars but as soon as I hit the call button signal bars disappear.
I've tried re-flashing multiple times and still happens no matter where I am located, so I have a hard time believing it's a network problem like sprint keeps trying to tell me.(which they tell me there're working on)for like the last freggin year and a half.
I've flashed an asop rom and it seemed to be ok for the short while I tested it, but I like jelly bomb and would like to see if there is a fix for my problem and/or see if it is happening to anyone else.
Had my S4 over a month now. Rooted and running Wicked Rom...Version 2, after that 3. All of a sudden...I started getting no data....
Could send texts/calls and receive them as well. Playstore or any browser/app that required net would fail. Couldn't even sync, would always pop up with a no network connection. At home, from time to time, I would get signal but it would be unbearably slow. I'm talking about clicking playstore and waiting a minute for it to load, with thumbnails loading every minute.
I just odin'ed back to stock MDL...Still same issue, even on stock rom. Is the phone borked? or?...Any ideas would be appreciated....Depressing considering it's a new phone. I pray I don't have to go through refurb hell like my friends have had to do with verizon. I **** you not, had a friend with a messed up Nexus, went through 6 phones with issues...*sigh*..
call t mobile ask them if they r doing any type of work around your house.... try flashing everything back to normal AGAIN and see what happens.. for some reason I was getting bad download speeds with darthstalker rom... I have no idea how that would even work but when I was on it I'd take a minute to download an app as opposed to Instantly on wicked.. maybe I got a bad download... I'll try again when a new version comes out

I had a network issue on wicked I think it had to do with deviant kernel because once I flaked phantom kernel I no longer had weird drop in data. Also check your APN setting if to live in an lte are you want the fast.T-Mobile.com as your APN if you do not you want the epc APN can't remember of top of head what it's called

Did you fix this man>? I have the same problem.
I had this issue a few times last week ever since they started upradeing the towers for LTE. what i did was select WCDMA mode in network settings that that happened to fix the issue for a while

yep I can confirm this. I live around Boston and I think they just started rolling out LTE this month. I would get LTEfrom time to time as I was driving around town but sometimes no data at all and required a reboot. I'm running wicked as well. After selecting "WCDMA/GSM autoselect" under mobile networks, it seemed to be a lot better.
About a week ago I was using my G2 and everything was working perfectly. I then went into updates and did a PRL and Profile update and BOOM my LTE stopped working and I was forced to 3G. Now for the past 4 days or so my 3G barely works and most of the time I get no data at all. I'm even starting to get zero bars and a red x. I've tried nearly everything I can think of to remedy this issue but nothing I've done has fixed it.
I've gone into the hidden menu and enabled LTE only and the LTE comes on and works great! But...You can't just be on LTE only because then CDMA doesn't work and you can't receive calls or texts. I've also turn the phone from voice centric to data centric but then I couldnt receive calls, I could only MAKE calls.
I've done all the obvious stuff like turn my phone from global to cdma/lte and vice versa. When I reset my phone LTE will come on for 2 seconds tops then stop and push me to 3G...then after a while 3G will stop working.
I'm completely stock, not rooted.
I've talked to a guy at sprint and he's told me that they know the G2 has issues with CDMA/LTE switching
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have read some people say take it in and out of airplane mode to get lte back but i would think a reboot would correct the problem as well. Maybe you have a sprint tower down in your area.

I thought this was only happening to me. LoL ... Eventually I got so frustrated that I moved to TMobile.v Even when I got good connection it was still horrible if that make sense. My wife doesn't have that problem but I'm moving her to TMobile to.
Did you try to do the permanently unlock at one point? That's when it started happening to me.

I now suffer from this... And I am rooted. I have yet to figure it out... I was going to go back to stock but sadly you have crushed my hopes (since you were stock). If anyone else suffers this and knows a fix please chime in. I've exhausted my knowledge over the last few days...
There's a dialer code you can enter to reset data and force a reactivation. It fixed some weird data issues I was having. I'll see if I can dig it up.

For a site that advocates search so much, XDA's search function is absolutely horrendous. It searches wildcards before literals(good luck searching anything with a symbol) and numbers that I copied and pasted from the thread somehow show no results. But I digress...

It's either ##UPDATE# or ##CLEAR# I can't remember which.
All I remember is that the phone showed a bunch of dialog boxes, then the phone rebooted and reactivated data. I'd assume it was ##CLEAR#, but again, not sure.

Actually it's a Spark issue. The only remedy is to wait for Sprint to put out an update or disable spark. You can disable it by dialing ##data#, go into LTE - edit (you'll need your MSL. There's a dialer code to get it just look here on the forums) then disable bands 26 and 41 and set their priority to 0. Afterwards your LTE will be back to normal.
Edit - ##443336772# Shows MSL code near the bottom of the screen
It almost seems to be an LTE handoff issue - they had similar issues with other devices during the buildout here in Chicago (my poor N2 was nearly 3G for almost 6 months due to the issue. I occasionally have issues but ##SCRTN# has resolved them.
