"Internet" app from Note 2 [SOLVED] - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hello.
Can someone please port "Interent" app from Note 2? My understanding that app is "official" android's browser, what we got on N3 is something else...
Not only it slow, but many websites don't display properly and zoom doesn't work.
For example http://500px.com/photo/53047668 on N2 I could zoom in on the photo, on N3 I can't.
N3: com.sec.android.app.sbrowser v1.5
N2: com.sec.android.browser v4.3
I've tried restore this app with Tib, but obviously it failed.
Thank you.
[EDIT]
For these who's looking for the same solution:
1) delete|move or rename /system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk
2) copy View attachment SecBrowser.apk into /system/app/
3) set permission on it to rw-r-r (chmod 644)
4) optional if you want get rid of samsung's version of "Internet" app: delete|move|rename SBrowser.apk and SBrowser.odex in /system/app

I've wondered this too as the zoom doesn't quite work like on the N2. I noticed it first off with the XDA website.
However, rotate to landscape mode and it looks more like it should. Give it a try.

It might be the knox as well .. I know that using the same internet app you aint able to watch videos from certain sites. This phone has been nothing but security issues out the box .

Decompile a note 2 ROM and then go into system/app and get the sec browser apk and install it on your note 3. The installer should install it but if it doesn't push the apk manually into system app and change permissions to rw-r-r and reboot phone.

That's pretty much what Tib does, but the browser crashes on N3 (the rom I'm using on N2 is stock deodexed I317UCUBMJ4)

I installed the browser from the ATT note 2 Jedi x 19 I believe it was and that worked just fine for me on this N900T running on ATT.

Did you try deleting or moving the 4.3 browser to the ext SD card and then try installing the note 2 browser in system apps?

Try renaming or deleting browserproxyprovider.apk. I had to do this when using aosp browser

That's it! Working fine now (both browsers actually)
Thank you very much,
So far the only weird thing I've noticed is that when it gives you a chose in which browser open a link, both browsers shows as their package name, instead of "internet" is it used to be. And in android's browser instead "search on page" in menu it says "discourage automatic dev..."
Now I wonder what I'm gonna loose without that file?

I would rename your current calender to .bak instead of .apk so you still have it. Then using root explorer move this apk to system/apps the long press it. Click change permissions and I believe they should be set to rw/r/r. Good luck!

It's pretty simple. However this process still did not work on my rooted SGSII. But for future reference of these types of system files here ya go.
- Use Root Explorer to place the file in the System/App folder in the directory
- If the new file is a different name then you can easily just place it in that folder ( of course you have to change Root Explorer to R/O mode instead of R/W mode ) - ( if its the same name then just rename the old file to something you can remember )
- Permissions for most apps would be RW, R, R. Just click on the file and select "Permissions". After you do that you do need to re-boot the device to save the settings.
Note: I did try this with this calendar and it did not work. We actually need a SSGSIII Calendar ported to work on an SGII. I am not smart enough to make that happen. Although I would like to be able to do such things someday. Hope this helps at least for future reference.
I'm pledging $10 towards the Dev who can get the S-Calendar ported yo the T-Mobile SGS-2. Maybe more if it is done by Monday. I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can give.

hey man, thank you very much. very helpful!!
although, I cannot install it on my nexus (i9250).
thank you anyway.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seemed like the most relevant place to post.
I recently put CarbonROM on my phone and, after playing around with it for a bit, realize I absolutely hate the google calendar and just want my old calendar back. I downloaded the apk provided in this thread and attempted to install it but it says I already have the app. Sure enough, if I go to Settings > Apps, it shows up as Calendar Storage, but there is no icon anywhere, such as in my app drawer, that allows me to load the program. I even tried using QuickShortcutMaker, but it can't find the calendar anywhere in the list of apps to make a shortcut. Does anybody know what I can do?
Same situation here with carbon Rom.
Anyone know how to get it working?

I am not sure, but it would seem, S Planer doesn't work on any other ROM than the Samsung Official ROM.
I don't know why... I've testing a lot of possibilities (replace the original AOKP's apk by the Samsung's apk, do a wipe Dalvik, wipe cache, modify the permissions...), a lot of apk (recovered here, recovered on an original v4.1.2 samsung's ROM, recovered on the testing v4.2.2 Samsung ROM...), and it never work on my CyanoGen Mod 10.1...
It isn't an incompatibility with an other home than TouchWiz because I've never use this home with my previous Samsung's ROM and S Planer working correctly...
I will continue to looking to do working S Planer with an other ROM, but I have little hope... :crying:

Stock Browser (non chrome)

Ok so finally got it set up on zl. Followed steps from link below and works. You need to be rooted.
1. You need to remove chrome.Apk and browserproviderproxy.Apk from system/app using root explorer.
2. Copy the browser.apk to the using root explorer to the system/app and set permission to rw-r-r.
3. Last reboot phone and browser should now be installed.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187973
I've done this using instructions in the Z forum using root explorer. What's interesting is that the ftf from the US posted in the development forum comes with both Browser and Chrome built in. Wished it came with all the ftfs as I prefer Browser.

I am not at all enamored with Chrome and I did not have default browser on my C6506 at purchase.
Seems contradictory that Google won't simply provide essentially their own stock browser in the market.

So I've asked which browser it was:
Which browser is 'browser' that you've showed?
From Google Play? Otherwise a link to an .apk? Thanks for the video!
He answered:
Its the stock browser that comes on the phone - The AOSP Browser - Sony includes it on the Phone.
I've asked:
Wait, whut... :s
On the XDA-forum there is said that it isn't...
Do you have a branded version of the 6506? Provider-software?
Thanks!
Answer:
Phone is completely stock
It's Bell Mobility Version in Canada - Model C6506 - Bought without contract.
To be honest, Chrome works better on this phone than my Note II or any other phone I've owned in the past -
so I usually use it. I made this video the day I got the phone so I hadn't configured or used it more than 4-5 hours.
I'm sure any AOSP apk would work though - XDA should have it.
I WANT IT! No sh#t with rooting, just an .apk Somebody that can provide it? :fingers-crossed::victory:

[MOD] Quick and Dirty: Enable Tether.

Attached is a quick an' dirty mod to enable tethering on our devices. This mod bypasses the tethering provision check of the stock tethering application. This can probably be done better in the Settings APK, but this was definitely the easier method.
This was built off of MDL, but should work with pretty much any version of the Stock TW firmware.
Simply replace this file in /system/app in your deodexed rom, set perms to rw- r-- r-- (644) and ensure that SELinux is set to permissive.
Go here for a flashable zip version: CLICK thanks to dragon-son for being 100% less lazy about making one.
*EDIT*
This has just been confirmed as working on odexed roms as well. Simply remove/rename the TetheringProvision.odex file, and clear Dalvik cache.

He wasn't asking how to fix permissions, but how to ensure that SELinux is set to permissive.
You can read more here:
http://selinuxproject.org/page/SEAndroid
In most cases, selinux will be set to permissive by default. If you are running a custom deodexed rom, it will most likely already have been disabled for you (if it was ever enabled). You can check this in the settings application under "About Device."
