I have been looking for a desktop charging dock for the new note 10.1
It seems no one makes one yet.
I thought the note 8 dock would work since it has a micro usb port just like the note 10.1
Has anyone tried it?
This is what I am talking about, there are lots of docks for the note 8

Fix the link.
I think it will depend on the distance between the usb port and the back rest on the dock. It would need to be the right size so that the whole note 10.1 doesn't rest solely on the micro usb port or pull it a bit to rest on the back
Fixed the link, Sorry guys

Hi
I want to use my Samsung Note 10.1 to connect to LCD projector for making presentations.
Pl suggest suitable Cable/adapter with part no or links
Thanks
You are in the forums for the galaxy note 1 phone
look in the forums for the N8000...
To give you an answer, you will need a MHL cable to video-out.
look on amazon for Samsung galaxy note video cable
Thanks.
Whether it is note 1, 2 or 10.1, my reqt remains same. Cause I am looking at micro usb to vga connector.
Has any one actually used it and does it work?
Pl share the setup and configuration or precautions

I'm using a Micro USB to HDMI cable from Ebay for 3 Euro or so, and it works perfectly...
Just search for hdmi galaxy note or mhl galaxy note on ebay...
Just plug the cable to a power source first, HDMI to the Projector, Micro USB to Note and Bob's your uncle...

Actually it doesn't, because the note2 and note10.1 MHL protocol is different from the Note1's.
Hi everyone, just wondering if anybody has found a usb to hdmi cable/adapter that works with the note 8. I want to be able to connect it to my tv to watch movies. I tried connecting my Samsung phone usb to my note and it isn't a good fit. Is the micro port on the note 8 different than a standard micro usb? Thanks for your help. Not sure if it matters, but I am in Canada.
I have tried 5 pin and it does not work so I think 11 pin (the one that work with note 2 / s3) will probably work.

The 11 pin version works. I own one.(the one for the galaxy s3)
A normal 5 pins otg cable also works. In case you wanted to buy that one also.
Best regards,
Niels

The Note 2 Galaxy S3 and after use a 11 pin adaptor. Those work with the Note 8 ( I have one). You can buy a 5 to 11 pin Micro usb adaptor on Amazon.
Today I found a new type adapter by Samsung in a store: White, rated 1080p 60 fps. It has the longer, 11 pins connector. I think it is a proprietary one, based on micro USB. The black HDTV adapter for the SIII uses the same connector. That one has no rating on the box, so I guess that one is only 720p. Both are recognised by my Note 8.0 (it beeps). But I haven't had the chance yet to test them on an actual TV set.
i want to but Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 but i want to know what are the Jacks available?
Plus, Does it support MHL or Something equivalent?
I want to Use USB OTG with Screen Out to make it as Mini-PC
i also heard about some sort of weird connector is that true?
Thx For Help:laugh:
look into the tab 10 instead of the 7 then. It supports MHL through microUSB v2.0.
Idk about weird connector, it uses the same micro 2.0 but it doesn't support MHL...at least, i've never tried but im pretty sure it doesnt.
E: the 8" as well supports MHL
so if my tab 3 10.1 picks up my usb keyboard otg is good to go right ?
i know the 7.0 won't and doesn't, but i also came across something odd
using a generic cable w/7.0 to transfer file from pc my tab [7.0] wouldn't register
as being connected or come up as malfunctioning but with the samsung cable no prob
the cable for the 10.1 is the same cable
so is the tab 7.0 an otg nogo or does it have more to do with the charger port ?
Tab 3 7.0 and Tab Tab 3 Lite have NO support for USB OTG. Because they ain't able to provide power to the external devices.
All you need is to build up your own USB OTG by tricking it to provide power to the external devices. That mean standard OTG won't work.
About Tab 3 8.0 and 10.1 no problem with them. The only thing I hated is they don't support xbox controller natively

Is there a similar dock for the note/tab tablets to the dock that Samsung made for the Note II phone? It has USB connectors, video out, audio out, and charging power in. It's a full desktop/media style dock. I believe that all of the pins are there in the 30ish pin connector, but I haven't found anything like it (and I've searched).
Here is what I use on my note 10.1. Had to trim the Holder to fit my device .. it works perfect. on stock and Custom gnobo rom. I have used other non stock roms in the past with it as well with no issues.

Thanks. I've seen that one and another HDMI dock people are modifying. I'm looking for a dock that has charging, USB host ports, audio out, and HDMI out. I don't think it exists, even though all of the necessary pins are probably there. Samsung made one for the Note II. Oh well.
