ive just got an htc desire and I'm trying to unlock the bootloader but no matter which way I try I cant seem to do it ive tried it through htcdev bootloader unlocker and get INFO [ERR] Command error!!! I've tried it through unrevoked3 and it hangs at waiting for hboot and I have tried it with revolution and when I copy or type the beta code in the cmd screen I get invalid code I have been surfing the forums for last 3 days trying to find a way and have still not unlocked the bootloader any help would be greatly appreciated the bootloader shows the following
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT 1.02.001
RADIO 5.17.05.23
It's running the following
Android version 2.3.3
Baseband version 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
Kernel version 2.6.35.10-g3f43272 [email protected]#1
Build number 3.14.405.1 CL96875
Software version 3.14.405.1
I'm still very much learning all this although I have managed to unlock the good old htc G1/Dream and installed a custom ROM onto it so can follow step by step instructions hoping someone can help this noob to get this thing unlocked
3 days and no mention of revolutionary method?
http://theunlockr.com/2011/08/02/ho...android-phone-using-the-revolutionary-method/
if you look in the original post you will see I have tried revolutionary method and followed the instructions in cmd but when I either type or copy and paste the beta key and push enter I get invalid code
Sorry missed that.
Did you install the hboot drivers?
yes I installed the drivers they suggested uninstalled HTC sync tried again and still invalid key
Very strange, I believe your firmware version should exactly work with revolutionary
Check the video I linked again, ensure that you have followed the steps exactly
Only other thing I can think of is to try a different PC?
I tried revolutionary again and still get invalid beta key, aborting I will try it on my daughters PC to see if that works but otherwise im at a loss at what to try next I can get into the stock recovery and have the option to run from sdcard could this help me load a custom recovery or will I still need to unlock the bootloader first? and thanks for taking the time to reply its very much appreciated
Did you enable usb debugging? Last thing I can think of.
yes I have enabled usb debugging I also tried it on my daughters PC which is running a different O/S (vista) I'm on win 7 x64 and I still get the same result invalid beta key , aborting thanks again for your help I think i'll just have to try and find a solution with a bit more research maybe create a gold card? this phone was branded to o2 UK but I got the sim unlocked so maybe im thinking a gold card would be my next move?
If it's already sim unlocked don't know if a goldcard would help. You're on the 2.3.3 stock gingerbread rom as well which isn't carrier branded.
Try to run the 2.3.3 RUU again using PB99IMG.zip method and start fresh.
Double and triple check your phone's serial number matches the one you submitted to revolutionary.
Should eventually work, the method you're using is the only way to unlock your bootloader version (s-off) anyway
thanks for your help I finally got revolutionary to root my phone but unfortunately the clockwork recovery isn't working so im trying to find Amon Ra's Recovery to flash that instead

Use 4ext recovery. It's the most recommended among devs.

please help !!!
From what i know radio s-off works on 1.32 base roms. But better wait for a more accurate answer.

Try the tool again. But as mariosraptor said, you should not run it on custom roms (custom kernel).
I try again but it's same thing
And now the screnn of my DHD is white with this message "Sudden closure of the application HTC sense"
Yep, that is normal, you should have read the thread more carefully. I posted a new version of the tool, which checks a bit more stuff. You should try it. If it gives the same result, you will have to revert to older, stock rom and then run the tool. After you run 0.4 version of the tool, you can reboot.
I try the new tool but it stop with the message "do you have root" and i didn' have message on my DHD.
How to revert to older rom ?
Okay, restore a nandroid backup or use HTC RUU.
I try
Thank you for your help

I'm running HTC Stock Rom, I think, no brand.
Code:
Android Version 2.2
Basehand Version 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel Version 2.6.32.21-g66cfb7a | [email protected]#1 | Tue Oct 26 15:58:17 CST 2010
Build Number: 1.32.707.5 CL277010 release-keys
Software Number: 1.32.707.5
Browser version: Webkit 3.1
On the same PC, I ran again, without the "I have radio S-off" box checked, it says "Do you have root?". I ran a gain with the box checked and it says it failed to make changes to bootloader. I unroot (don't know why I did that) with Visionary, it rebooted ok. I rooted it again already. . But a little bit afraid now, cos' I had no experience in rom flashing.
Edit:
Oh my love, I ran it AGAIN, and this time without the box checked. And it said "All DONE".
Same problem as xthierry "bootloader is corrupt, do not reboot. Contact XDA for help"
I used this guide to downgrade from 1.72 to 1.32 software version, then used this guide for trying to flash a custom rom. Radio S-OFF, Super CID from Easy Radio tool v2.2 went just fine. Then started Easy S-OFF_5 and checked option I have Radio S-OFF and pressed S-OFF it! button. This time no acces was required on my phone, and the message "bootloader is corrupt, do not reboot. Contact XDA for help" appeared. I tried again to press S-OFF it! and it said "Error: Connection problem!".
This is most similar post I could find and someone said to run Easy S-OFF v4 but I only can find v5 on site. And I didn't understand exactly what tools should I use in order to restore bootloader to solve the problem in case of broken bootloader.
Thank you very much, you're doing a great job within this community!
Problem solved, I remade the downgrade and I haven't tried again to install Easy S-OFF, cause I don't need to flash any radio, I just wanted to unlock SIM
Glad to see your DHD not bricked
Bootloader Corrupt error
Hi,
I have a HTC Desire HD running Android 2.2 [Build #: 1.32 Software: 1.32] - completely stock out of the box with standard vodafone (australia) rom still installed.
i have run through the steps outlined here
i have rooted using VISIONary and performed the RADIO S-OFF, Super-CID and Sim Unlock section without issue.
When i attempt to run "Desire HD easy s-off.exe" [EasyS-OFF_05] with "i have RADIO S-OFF" box checked, i receive the message "bootloader corrupt, DO NOT REBOOT! Seek help from XDA!" about half way through.
i have attempted running it again and receive "connection error" (with and without the "i have RADIO S-OFF" box selected).
i have downloaded EasyS-OFF_04 and run this but i still receive connection error. USB is definately conneted in charge only and USB debugging is enabled.
i have not yet rebooted the phone as i am not sure if it is safe to do so. any help would be much appreciated. I have not flashed the radio or ROM as i have seen other threads advising that you must have eng S-OFF before flashing the ROM - is this accurate?
i have seen HTC RUU mentioned but im not entirely sure what this is and whether is pertains to my situation.
Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
EDIT: formatted the SD card then rebooted phone ok - continued with rom flashing guide in above link. all is working well.

I have hboot 0.93 and rooted using un-revoked. Now there's something wrong with the hardware and need to send it for servicing, so i need to un-root it. i tried using the ruu but to no success because of the hboot version i guess. Any idea?
thanks in advance.
Pretty sure you have to use the goldcard method, as your hboot version is newer than the one you are flashing.

Your insert your gold card in your phone and you launch the Ruu from your computer, it will be a success

Hi I have the same problem. im using 0.93 locked to t-mobile, I tried the goldcard on the only Ruu that matched which was non of the t-mobile ones and it failed customer ID error, I have also tried the downgrade method and it failed on CID check I have redone the goldcard several times and still no joy.
currently I have reloaded the t-mobile Rom recovery file from clockworkmod I backed it up on root before I flashed a custom rom and bellow is the version numbers im using atm.
hboot 0.93
Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Software 2.12.110.4
I also loaded stock Rom 2.2 with the latest software 2.29.405.2 and .5 using the same baseband and both errored out Im only a novice at this and Ive prob spent a day in total and a load of dead end results on forums, pulling my hair out on this as I dont understand some of the terminolgy at best of times and all I get is "like the above" yeah it will work doing this. I have tried everything and nothing works ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Just download and install the newest OTA-Update by T-Mobile. After this procedure your phone should be un-rooted.
Just tried that and it says signature check fail. so that didnt work either.

Yes, this error means, your are using the wrong RUU. You really have to use a RUU from T-Mobile, your software-number (2.12.110.4) clearly shows this. So in your RUU name has to be the combination "TMO_UK". And do not forget to compare the radioversion.
I did the exactly that ^^^ after finally getting the goldcard to work, it loaded through the whole process of loading the T-mobile uk ruu and now my phone is buggered I get a blank screen it vibrates on and the keys light up. now its flashed the whole thing, its wiped my recovery so I cant even enter blind and reload previous Rom.
I dont think I can fix this as Unrevolked wont work as phone is stuck in usb charge mode. Ive have no idea how to fix this as it seems very few people have 0.93 hboot with blank screen issue as well as getting 130 or 140 errors on every ruu exept the t-mobile ones that buggered my phone in the first place. All ive returned on a fix is load anouther exe ruu and reflash but I cant because it errors 130 cid on all of them.
plz help I have no idea what to do.

run the ruu but do not continue and do not close...
go to temp folder where files extracted and copy or move rom.zip to desktop
(tmp folder varies for windows operating system.. windows xp C:\documents and setting\(user folder)\local settings\tmp\(folder with letters and numbers.. just look in them) )
rename rom.zip PB99IMG.zip and move to root of sd card
boot into hboot;(With power off hold down volume button and press power; do not release volume down untill screen lights up).. wait for parsing file then press volume up to confirm install files.
it will reboot and continue do not pull battery!!
Hey!
My Phone: Desire GSM with up to date Aurora Rom and 0.75 Bootloader.
2.5.0.7 ClockworkMod Recovery. S-ON!
Newest Radio.
I got some memory issues and want to flash the HBoot with AlphaRev.
So first i need to "update" my bootloader to 0.93. I couldnt find a way to do so!
I tried to install the latest WWE and the latest HTC_European RUU once normal and via fastboot... both fail with Error 131.
I dont know how to get away from the old bootloader... i'm frustrated #
The RUU always says i'm on 1.15.x. I dont know what this means...
Another question: a the moment i'm also not able to update the ClockworkMod via RomManager or Droid Explorer. Is this because my security is still ON?
Thanks!
go to my guide, create a goldcard first (link to tutorial there too) and then flash the latest WWE RUU from the link on my guide
Also it's best to change recovery via fastboot, and to completely cut out 3rd party apps like rom manager because they just cause issues. Flash roms and backup through recovery manually and everything else from fastboot
It's a Goldcard and already tried the RUU from your guide...
Maybe my SD Card isnt able to act as goldcard... going to try another one
report in a few minutes
Didn't someone say alpharev works on .75? No need to change bootloader? Try that instead of revolutionary
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
tried alpharev...
booted from CD. Everything fine... on step 3 of 3, 5 errors or something like appeared and a command line with somethink like "te:box$" appeared and nothing more happend. After ten minutes i just restartet my phone (very risky i know ) and it was still S-ON.
i thought i have to update my bootloader... but if anyone knows this failure pls tell me a solution! because creating a new goldcard with one android phone isnt that easy if you cant restore with an unrooted RUU
*edit*
seems also to be a goldcard failure :/
none of my sd cards is able to be a goldcard... sucks!

or maybe you're just doing it wrong? lol
Hello guys.
As I can see - my problem is unique and almost noone has solved it, but I won't give up.
Okay, let's start from the beginning.
I had stock firmware with 2.29 OS version (no matter to write all the numbers of version, just 2.29). In order to have something newer and with new HTC Sense, I managed to get the Cool3D RunnyMede v7 firmware on my phone.
Like in many tutorials I went on htcdev.com and used to unlocking bootloader. I followed all the steps and finally got the unlocked butloader, but with s-on (I saw no matter on it, as I do now).
Downloaded the clockwork mod, I proceeded to flash my phone, and after some problems I had the custom firmware. Okay, all is good, but what the problem? Problem was that I could not use anything of phone's functions, just had no service. Okay, it was the radio problem. It was caused by that fact that while s-on, I upgrade the firmware but not radio (but it was in archive with firmware too).
Cause I had s-on I had no chance to flash my radio.
S-on was caused by htcdev RUU updater, that made my phone having hboot 1.03.0003.
Now I have no firmware, just clockworkmod 2.5.0.7, s-on and hboot 1.03.0003.
When I try to setup official RUU I have the 140 error, it means that in ROM that I try to set up is lower version of hboot that I have. When I try to replace it on my hboot (extracting it from the hboot updater) I get error 132, it means CID problem, but in android-info.txt in ROM's file I have the same, that on my phone.
Can anyone help me, or I just have to write to HTC Support, and after having no answer break my phone about the nearest wall?..
Check bortak's troubleshooting guide (see my sig).
Thanks, but I've seen it for many times, don't know what can help me...
Maybe goldcard?.. Anything else?
Hi there is a way how to downgrade your 1.03 hboot in resources of bortak's guide or you can find it here
after downgrade you can run revolutionary to get s-off and flash your preferred radio
Hey guy, it looks helpful as nothing I've seen before; thank you; I'll write about the result.
It works.)
Thanks a lot.
Can't downgrade
I have an HTC Desire
S-ON
Bravo PVT4
HBOOT: 1.03.0003
MI CROP-05-1d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-05.11.05.27
And I need a goldcard to be able to downgrade it to 1.02.0001 and I can't get it anywhere, all I've got is the CID 00B100DC08D480804734305553445303 but the website I went to is not working anymore to get the IMG. PLEASE help!

Hello.
For 2 days now, I have been trying to unlock a DHD,with not much luck so far. (AAHK being disabled just when I needed it.)
I am now trying to use the official HTCDev bootloader unlocker, but it doesn't seem to work either.
So far, my rom is still stock. (The phone tells me it is :
sense 3.0,android 2.3.5, ver 3.12.405.1 ,
HBOOT 2.00.0027
Radio 26.14.04.28_M )
The phone was never branded or somlocked.
It SHOULD be supported by HTCDev. However, when I run the RUU update, It asks me if I want to go from 3.12.405.1 to 3.13.000.0
I say yes.
The phone reboot to Fastboot, and then I get an error 191, saying that my rom is not supported and I should wait for an update.
Since it supposed to be supported already, there will be no update of course.
Earlier, I had tried to manually downgrade following this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424023
I had gone to the end of the guide, having the message "your card is now gold",but couldn't seen to use it to downgrade. (Is there a specific way to use a goldcard ? I just got to bootloader and it seems to load something ... but in the end the hboot version doesn't change.)
I kept the goldcard as it was, and used another micros SD.
I did a factory reset before trying HTC dev unlocker.
Now I am a bit lost. I have tried to find what to do by reading posts, faqs, and generally searching here ot with google.
But I seem to go from outdated to incomplete guides, and / or lack the basics to understand what I read.
Does anyone know what my next step should be ? What could prevent HTCdev unlocker from working ?

You need to update your hboot for HTCDEV tool to work. I don't know why but the links in the site seem to have been removed thou the link is still alive.
Try to use this tool (that will guide you through the process) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133336 or use this tool (that will unlock the bootloader, flash CWM recovery and root) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515

I tried both those utility, but they merely download and launch the same RUU update. It will detect a 1.00.000.00 image version, try to update to 3.13.something,and then tell me it can't due to unsuported rom.
I think the problem might be that I switched my version 1.00.000 manually when I was trying to downgrade. I'LL try reversing that, but if anyone has another idea, please ...
Edit :
Nope, still stuck.
I changed back the misc version to 2.00.0027, but the HTC dev ruu update still tells me that my rom is not supported.
Can't update hboot, can't get token, can't unlock

I found what was wrong for me !
It came from my first try at manually downgrading. Except the misc version is not the HBOOt version, it's the rom version. Following the guide, I had set it to 1.00.000.0
I retraced the same step, except I set it to 3.12.405.1 ( the version of the rom ).
And it worked !

No.
After setting the rom version back to 3.12.405.1, I used the HTC unlocker to unlock my Hboot.
The automatic script ( easyUnlock and EasyAceUnlock ) didn't seem to work for me (Error while trying to get root.)
So I just installed Clockwork mod recovery. I don't really need to be root anyway. I just want some JellyBean taste.
But now I seem to be having a new problem. I tried to install a rom ( Wiping everything I can from CWM before ) but my phone won't boot. It is stuck to the green HTC logo.
I will be looking through new post from this forum to try to find a solution, while downloading other roms.
I wonder if some (or all) roms require you to be root to work.

You haven't flashed the boot.img in fastboot...that is a must when using an unlocked bootloader.

Indeed. Now starting the slow process of finding the right rom.
I will regret not being able to flash a radio ( since I'm not S-Off ) but at least I be able to try new roms.
Thanks !
