I haven't encountered any issues with Youtube buffering.
Are you able to stream YT fine on other devices in your home? If so, try clearing the app date of YT and try again. How does YT streaming work on any of the browsers?

It kind of worked after clearing the app data. I hope it stays like that even though loading times seems quite long to me compared with other devices in the same network.
Thanks

I have the same problem... I cleaned both cache and data but still the same problem... The device has some serious bags /problems.. I have to say that I didn't expect so many problems (bluetooth, youtube, lags, etc)

I read latest comments in YouTube after last update and people refer to this issue due to last update. Just to .test it, I downloaded Vimeo and it worked fine.
As you say I didn't expected so much problems with this tablet. Hope a FW update fix lag and other issues.

Hey guys. I was wondering if the new YouTube app is lagging on anyone else's t mobile Samsung galaxy s2. The latest update(the one from Google i/o) is lagging a lot. I first thought it was a memory issue in my phone.. however literally nothing else lags. Any feed back on how to get rid of the lag would be really appreciated.
I'm on stock. Not rooted.. no mods out anything.
Thanks guys
Yes is lagging so much

I know ur not rooted but try searching for the YouTube HD app and see if that fixes ur lag. It plays videos in 720p. I'm not sure if u will be able to replace it with the stock YouTube because ur not rooted but u can always try.
I have no lag with YouTube.

It works perfectly fine for me, in fact I prefer it over the old YouTube.

simply u can't
There's Moonlight (Mono-based), and they seem to have a working Android port, but I'm not quite sure if it was ever released.
Why do you wanna run SilverLight applications on your Note..?

Thts a good question. . But there's tons off answers. For me, it would be great to use Silverlight so i can watch streaming footage on a website.
Hope it will ever hit the Google market

Good thinking... my question was done because the only site that I use and that uses Silverlight is Netflix, and it's useless on the smartphone because they have their own app.

Yeah there are a few sites which use Silverlight. Hate it when that happens. Ugh.
Highly unlikely such a plugin would hit play store anyways. It's Microsoft's proprietary software right?

hi all! I just got my note today andso far I am loving it. the only thing that really bothers me is that when using the gallery, there is quite a bit of lag - from launching the application to browsing actual photos. I only have a handful of wallpapers and the stock Samsung video on there, so I don't understand why I lags so much. it takes about 4-5 seconds to respond, and had completely frozen 5 times. I've tried clearing the application cache, but it hasn't solved it.
has anyone else experienced this? any advice will be much appreciated.

I have. And you are not alone. I remember reading about the lags in one of the reviews. I'm just patiently waiting for Samsung to provide a fix. In the meantime I've downloaded an alternative photo editor from the play store.

That's sad that something as basic to a smartphone as a gallery is messed up. I do hope it gets fixed sooner rather than later. I ended up downloading QuickPic in the meantime.
Actually I had problems with the Gallery app on other Android devices too. I ended up installing Quickpic instead, after I got tired of fighting the lag.

Same here, sadly.
Anyone knows a cool app like quick pic but with Google photos support?

try viewing in Desktop Mode
A lot of YouTube video's are only watchable in 480p, but oneplus 3 has a 1080p display. How to fix this ?
( Btw, the video's are not uploaded in 480p )
TIA
Must be a setting in your phone. Here everything in 1080p on my OPO3
try clearing cache. (maybe delete app data) I had this issue on my old phone.
for a permanent fix try using the 1080p 60fps guide on xda (just linked below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-how-to-enable-720p-1080p-60fps-t3406072
I found out that i only have this problem with a few channels, i can watch other channels in 1080p.
And i don't have a rooted device
Clearing cache, data, etc. didn't work
For example,
I can watch this one in 1080p :
And I can watch this one only in 480p :
Same problem here and yes it is only with some channels. The option just isn't there
Maybe your data connection? When I'm on a weak connection I can't seem to get a high resolution either. Also YouTube settings change to 1080.
Same problem for me too. Wth...

3.1.2 and yeah I'm rooted with xposed. I'm getting a replacement for weak/intermittent signal for Wi-Fi and network. I'm curious if it's gonna happen on the new one.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
I'm only on wifi, with the speedtest.net app i tested my connection and it is around 90 mbps, so i don't think that that is the problem
Same problem here.
I'm also having the exact same issue. Both on LTE and Wi-Fi, complete stock not even rooted.
I cleared the YouTube app data and it seems to be working correctly now.
Correction, not all vids to be corrected. It seems like if the video is offered with 1080p and 60fps then we only get the option for 480p. No idea why.
I have the same annoying problem. All videos only show 480p option. I'm stock on OOS 3.1.2.
Edit: Tried watching a 4K video (I know our display is only 1080p) but in this video it gave me the option for 1080p but on videos that are in 1080p it only gives me the option for 480p wth?
Extremely frustrating. It doesn't make any sense at all.
