I'm attaching a screen shot to show what my storage screen is showing. The total space lead the amount shown on the screen does not added up. I've rooted the device and have installed a few different roms over time and I wonder if space had been used that is not showing here.

I'm having the same problems. I had just flash a 4.3 rom, and when I return to stock my storage space was not correct.

Did you do a full wipe of system, factory reset, and both caches before flashing your current ROM? Also, you may want to use a file explorer and go through all directories to double check if you haven't already. You may also consider reformatting your internal memory to eliminate any possible issues.

You must have not noticed before, but that's what its supposed to show. It came like that out of the box because of how Samsung partitioned the internal memory. We all got screwed out of available space because of it. I would highly recommend that you don't fool around with the partition tables because you could brick your tab. Instead, I would recommend you buy an external micro SD to the size you need if you haven't already. I would still wipe your internal storage to maximize your available space. Obviously, make sure you back up what you want to keep beforehand. I have never used Philz before so I'm not familiar with it.

Well thanks for the answer. I started to freak out cause in my Galaxy Mega it does tell I have a total of 16gb. I know that the whole Samsung stuff takes alot of memory but I was concern cause I just had flash a cm 11 ROM and they have that of 'multi user', so I thought it had done that.

Hello everyone.
I'm running Oxygen 2.0.1 with A2SD enabled.
My internal memeory seems to be almost completely full though i have nothing installed in it.
I cleared the cache a look through almost all my apps, but i really can't figure out why i have no space left.
Usually i have more than 100MB free space even with many more applications installed, so something must be using all my internal mem.
Do i have to clean my internal memory each time i flash a new ROM or something like that?
When you flash a new rom you do a factory reset and clear dalvik cache. As for your memory being almost full, depending on how the a2sd script works and what it puts onto the SD card, data can still install to internal memory. Like the dalvik cache. If you can, use a file manager to see what is using memory.

could you please tell me how i use a file manager to check what's using my memory?

Okay thank you all guys.
I bought root explorer and look around a bit, and ofcause i came across the dalvik-cache.
The Dalvik-cache is nothing less than 85mb, which is pretty huge right?
is there any way i can shrink the case/is it possible that the cache contains information from my old rom, which does nothing else than using the space?
You could wipe it through recovery then reboot and see what it looks like then..

I have a problem similar to this, but I had installed Intercepter-NG, and forgot to tell the program to use my SD card, and it filled up the internal memory with logs.
Now I can't get to the logs, because I have lost my USB cable.
Is there a free program for the Galaxy Y S5360 that will let me look in Internal Memory and delete the logs??

You don't need your usb cable to browse your own phone
There are many free programs, search the play store for a file manager...
Uninstall some apps if you need to make space
Or...is there an option within this interceptor app to delete the logs directly?
I'd love to post directly to the thread in the developers section to ask this, but until then, can someone testing The Classic v0.0.9 let us know how internal storage is with the latest update?
I'm currently on Classic v0.0.6 with a substantial number of apps moved to SD card with Apps2SD Pro, and still only have about 47 mb of available space in Internal Storage. Just wondering if the latest version has more/less/or about the same amount of internal storage than v0.0.6?
Thanks

I'm running 0.0.9 and have a ton of free storage, however I'm using dta2sd on a partitioned SD card. I'm not familiar with apps2sd pro.
sent using a freaking pigeon, with a note tied to its leg.
Apps2SD Pro just moves part of the app. Data and cache still stay in the internal storage of the phone for the apps. If you use a lot of apps you may want to partitioned your sd card and flash dta2sd. This way the app and data will be moved to sd partition. You can even move the cache if needed. Hope that helps.
I wasn't familiar with dta2sd. Just read some posts stating that this rom already has it. Should I move the apps back to phone using Apps2SD, uninstall Apps2SD, then move to apps back again with dta2sd?

Is your sd card partitioned? If not you must do so to use dta2sd. Just make sure to backup all data from your sd card to your pc before doing so.
Sorry. I did mean to include in earlier post that my SD card is partitioned already. Thanks for all of the help.

Then all you need to do is go into terminal emulator. Type su. Then type a2sd reinstall. This will activate A2SD and move your apps and data to the sd partition. This is if the rom you have has a2sd baked in already. If not you will need to flash it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715938
Thanks, this worked for me as well!
I'm not sure if it's related, but after flashing DT a2sd, I was able to reinstall the google search box widget on Classic Rom. For some reason, I kept getting errors about a month or 2 ago. So I tried to uninstall/reinstall. For the past month or so, when tried to reinstall/download from Play, I kept getting error message.
Thanks again for this recommendation on a2sd.

and use ROM Toolbox's App2SD...

You'll need to reformat the card to Fat32. This of course will wipe it clean, so id take it out of the phone and plug into the computer, and back up any important data. Then format to FAT32. You can format on the phone, so it may be best to do it that way.
What size is the card?

I have a 32gig external sd
Ooops.....my bad!
disregard previous posts. Sorry bout that!
Try deleting the .android_secure folder as is mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908178
If that doesnt work, I would suggest trying TWRP instead of CWM.

I deleted the folder but I'm pretty sure the backup file produced isn't right at 21mb.

Some folders may show incorrect space usage, try mounting as usb from recovery and checking on a computer,
if it still shows as 6GB then something is wrong with your SD formatting or the software, and you need to re-install the rom wiping everything

Thats a good idea, why didn't I think of it? ><
Anyway thanks a lot it really helped me
Apparently I wasn't able to see anything inside my SD card out of the '0' folder, therefore not being able to see the '0' folder, and since it was recognized in my computer as a media device, not mass storage, I wasn't even able to see it in the computer :|
So I'm transfering all my sd card content into '0' folder
Thanks this should pretty much solve it
Though, why the hell is my device recognized as a media device and not mass storage USB? ><
Support for mass storage mode was dropped in Android 4.2. For now on you can use MTP.
I can't seem to find it?
Any ideas?
Thanks for any help!

Well, I went into recovery, made a backup to my sd card.
Wiped everything on my internal sd. Everything that I could.
Then, restored the backup.
I still have my apps and text messages, but lost all my pics (which I backed up and deleted but still showed up)(upon typing this, I think that may be a clue to the problem), but now I have over 10gigs of free space so I'm happy again!

So how do you find and delete these folders? I just did a back up and deleted/formated everything that I could in recovery(without my SD card in) hoping I wasn't going to delete my cwm recovery, but it didn't work? I'm sitting at exactly 12.05 gigs of internal storage just like the OP.

It wasn't the 'total' I was concerned with.....It was the 'available'.
I know on TW the total is like 12.95, but, I'm not worried about <1 gig,
I moved my backup to external sd card, then removed card from phone to guarantee I didn't delete it!
Good Luck!
