I just got a Nexus and rooted, etc, using the toolkit.
I've noticed that the battery will not charge all the way to 100%, no matter how long i let it charge.
Yesterday for example, i used the phone till it died, then connected the phone to the charger over night.
This morning i turn the phone off and see that the battery is only at 92%!?
How can i fix this?!
Currently running Vicious Jell Bean v4.
Perhaps this is why there is an option to clear battery stats in clockwork, yes?

That doesn't actually do anything aside from erasing your battery graph.
Yeah from what I've read, clearing the battery stats using CWM or some other calibration app, didn't take care of the whole problem.
Any other ideas?

Does the kernel you are using have BLX?
That can be used to put a limit on how high a battery charges, maybe you changed the value by accident or it was set that way by the dev.

Have you tried doing a trickle charge?

How can i tell?
Not sure but i didn't use any other kernel except the one that came with the Vicious Jelly Bean rom.
I just noticed that you can change the mAh capacity in the "Battery Monitor Widget" by 3C.. it currently shows that capacity is 1750mAh when the stock battery states 1850mAh. Should i change the value now and drain the Battery completely, then full recharge?

I noticed the same thing when I was running Vicious v3, it would stop at 95%. I'm running latest bugless beast now and the issue is gone.

I think thats what is called, My phone never goes past 99% no matter how long i leave it there so now when it reaches said 99% i unplug it and re-plug it inmediately and it goes up to 100%

what the crap...
I super-wiped, deleted dalvik cache, and factory reset, and flashed the Rev' HD rom, and STILL doesnt charge past 92%?!?!
Perhaps its the "Battery Monitor Widget" from 3C and the data stored?!??
Same happened to me. And it's getting worse progressively - first it was charging to 89%, then it didn't go above 79, now I can rarely see it go over 60
Since day one my phone never got to 100%, it always stops at 99%...
My phone was able to charge to 100% within reasonable time. I've changed a few firmwares with full wipe, that didn't impact neither the ability to charge to 100% when it was able to do so nor the inability to charge fully when the problem surfaced.
I suspect that problems started after I dropped my phone (wasn't a hard drop, just a fall to a hard surface from 0.5 m, no visible damage).
Is it possible that the battery gets damaged somehow?
Same problem

Same problem here, my phone charge until 84% BUT:
I tried with a battery of my friend that was at 95% and my phone showed it 60%!
The issue is in the way that our phone measure the battery, but i already tried wipping bat stats and nothing...
I also wiped all the things and re-installed 4.2.2 and same problem
Why would you even bother eating your time wiping battery stats? It had absolutely nothing to do with charge indication.

Well I need to know from you guys, it's not that I don't know, but need to reconfirm. I think mine is taking much lower now than it was. A full charge, say from 5% to 100%, with Stock charger?
Thanks in adv.

Charging from 0 to 90% happens in no more that 2 hours I would say. from 90% to 100% the charging rate gets slowed a lot. So basically shouldn't take more than 2:30 hours from 0 to 100%.
Thanks guys. Now I remember it was 2 hours 45 mins for me too at first.
Today it took 4 hrs 30 mins. Reason? I'll say tomorrow, after confirming.

Any research or refrence for this longevity ? I heard its always better to charge 100% ?

you are welcome. the general rule is to try to 1) avoid charging to 100%, really diminishing return the higher it goes; and 2) avoid deep discharge cycle. I usually use 40% of the capacity at work everyday, so charge to ~70% in the morning, use down to ~30% and then charge again. charging time in this range is rather linear, about 1 percent a minute

Yeah, it happened to mine too few days back. My Note2 went crazy, taking around 7-8 hrs to fully charge from 15%. So, i tried searching about the problem on google but to no avail. Did a factory reset with cache wipe and problem solved :good:. Now it takes about 2.5 hrs to fully charge from say 10% (using the samsung wall charger with phone switched on). I can only say that the slow charging was caused due to some software but don't know exactly which one? You may as well try the hard reset if anything else doesn't work out .
P.S : Btw i'm on stock fw with no root or mod! Only did some OTA updates couple of weeks ago.
Guys, we have a changeable battery and is already writed Inside to android that it won't charge to 100%, it just shows at 100% but really it is at 95%-98% that feature came with 2.2.1 update 2yrs ago.
And we can change the battery after 2yrs for 20-30$, unlike Nokia lumia users or HTC one x or iPhone users.

Yeah, thanks. But if you've Watchdog installed then you can see which app is going over threshold and keep running on background. And yes, this time, again, the culprit was PowerAMP! Uninstalled it and voila. The same app created problem for me when I had my S2, charging was pathetically slow, even I had to go to SC and they said battery is gone. But I didn't believe and asked a techy friend and he said it might be some app, and damn right he was.
Anyway, if anyone having the same issue like mine, that is, charging duration has increased with Stock charger, then install Watchdog (the lite version will do) and see who is the culprit.
I have no idea how a top app like PowerAMP could cause this! Jeez!

Yes is it supposed to be better then that. Although, it is possible the battery power software has a bug in it. But it should not be dropping like that when idling.

Theres definitely something up with your unit. Have you let it cycle from a full charge to 0 a couple times?

This shows nothing without actual screen on time.
I dont think the op's battery is that far off. An hour of screen on time plus an hour of streaming music. Streaming uses a lot of battery.
If you kept at that rate it would be able 3 hours screen time and 3 hours music streaming.

If anyone rally thinks the battery is an issue try stock and try removing the apps that run all the time. This would at least tell you if it is your battery out just processes. It is tough these days to not have a bunch of crap running all the time. Many of the app devs add these things trying to find info, etc
Also.. Sometimes will run the battery down faster than others. Streaming media is a killer, video, gaming, etc.. Don't expect mega screen time doing that.
Also.. Check your brightness.

I see those spikes on my Nexus 7 2013. And I get a terrible battery as well. My tablet loses about %30 of its battery charge during night when it is in sleep mode. Does anybody experience the same issue? Is there a way to fix this?

You must have an app installed that's causing that much drop off. Mine drops off like 2%.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I have seen spike on mine, too, but not up to 100%, only 1-2% more than its actual level. I thought it's because it was the first charge cycle and the reading weren't yet calibrated. I'll see if they go away after a few more cycles.
I don't have battery drain, as well, I lose 2-3% overnight with wifi and sync still on.

Hey everyone,
My Nexus 7 (2013) is having the same problem with battery graph. There are about 2-3 spikes to 100% in every discharge cycle.
I noticed this problem has been reported in different cycles, but no one seems to be able to give a definite answer of what the source of this problem is.
BTW, after a reset to factory settings, the problem still persists.
ANY idea why this is happening???

Just kidding, but that's pretty bad.

Sent from my SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Either a CPU max run state...or a serious wake lock...or both..
Zero lemon getting drained like that is a serious problem...
I would suggest a "complete" wipe...and the flashing of a rooted stock rom as a test base...
If the device still exhibits the behavior...then a hardware issue may be at Work here...
If the device gets hot to the touch....then get the device to a stock and clean state...so some unmodified testing can take place...
Let us know...g
