My nexus won't charge but recognize in PC - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi
I have very strange issue in GNEX..I cant charge it via wall adapter or usb cable when connected to PC. but PC recognize as GNEX and I can transfer files within PC and phn..
Any idea to solve this ?
thanks

I had this problem once. I tried replacing the usb port/flex cable on the device and it still didn't fix it. I think something on the motherboard failed to cause it.
I eventually just did an insurance replacement since I couldn't figure out a way to fix it.
If you are positive it's not the cables or battery, you might be out of luck.

motherboard failure as what Samsung service center and other repair shops told me, the repair costs will be higher than a brand new Galaxy Nexus. Still waiting for the Nexus 5 to arrive in my country before putting this phone to rest.
My temporary solution

Try this "3M - 1625 - CLEANER" (Order Code:2135628) You can buy it in Farnell or any electronics shop I would post a link but I have to low posts. With some small brush and try to clean up the USB port.
Good luck.

How to charge directly to battery of O2 xda IIi (PH17B)?

The charge port of my O2 xda IIi is broken so I want to make a charger to allow charge directly to the battery. The problem is that this battery has 6 pins, so I don't know which pins to use to charge directly? I assume that the pin number as follow:1->6 from left to right)

Anyone knows which pins to use to charge directly or have the circuit of this battery?
Thanks a lot.
why dont you just use the battery slot in the cradle that you use to sync to the pc?
if you havent got one just look for one on ebay
saves messing about like this making a charger
in fact buy this one

Thanks for your help. The problem is fixed. I repaired it myself by connecting directly DC 5V source to the pins in the board.
@Danksolutions,
Can you tell me the detail how you connect DC 5V to the pint which pint should be connected. Thanks a lot

No way to know for sure without physical inspection.
If I had to guess I'd say the cable connecting the screen may have come loose.

Yeah. Was about to think that cable too. Gotta wait till i get opening kit and report after!
Okay, after disassembling and investigating i found the problem.
When i press this part of the phone with finger(red circle), it starts to flicker and bug like in the video above..
What this cable actually does, and how i could fix it..? Is it connecting to screen? Didnt found good guide to disassemble more so didnt do it.
Do i need to replace whole piece of phone.. (rounded with cyan color)?
without the back cover it works way better than with it.

[Q] DEFY MB525 at Technical Support

Well, the question I want to make to the community is that if anyone can identify, and, if the answer is affirmative, tell me how to replace the components identified in the attached image.
All this is because I sent my DEFY to the Technical Support because it wasn't recognized by the PC, in any of the USB ports, on any computer I have at home (all with the drivers installed, a W7 and another WXP), while the RSD Lite recognized it (in XP), but flash a ROM took several attempts.
As this was so weird, I flashed the phone with Vodafone Spain .sbf and sent it to the Technical Support, but recently I was asked to pay € 91 to fix it, saying that the warranty is void because the phone had a hit, when the USB failure was not after any major hit.
The point is that now I don't know what to do when I get it back, because I will not pay that amount, it is noteworthy that apart from that the phone is working perfectly, no irregularities in its functioning.
Sorry for my poor english.
PS: In case anyone needs the information, I sent the phone to Motorola's official Technical Support, SMS in Madrid.
Edit: Thanks to nogoodusername for the advise

[Q] Must wrap cord in order to charge

Hi folks,
Been having this problem for a little while now and decided I'm fed up with it. My Verizon GN will only charge if I wrap the cord around it as such:

}
I have tried multiple cords and the problem always persists. Any suggestions on now to go about getting this fixed?
Thanks!
Since you have tried multiple cables.. It could be the wall piece of the charger not having a good connection around the USB, try a new one of those.
LOL....
sorry didnt mean to laugh.
1) the power cube/brick(where the USB attaches) might be faulty
2) the charge slot on the phone might be faulty
3) all of the above

How do I go about fixing this?
Appreciate the input!
It may the electronic where its charging. I recently moved out of an area where the power was bad and suffered a similar issue to a new area and now my phone has had issues
It sounds like probably the USB port on your phone is bad. Wrapping the cord around the phone must hold the plug in just the right position it needs to be in to connect correctly.

[Q] Charge port picky on charging

So my wife has the S3 phone, and when she plugs it in, she has to do a song and dance just to get it to charge. While it's just sitting, most times the connection notification sound will go haywire as the connection is loose. I've tried using different cables and it's the same thing. It's a factory phone, no mods done to it as she'll kill me if I do anything to it. Has anyone dealt with this? Did you bring it in? Would I be charged a fee to get it replaced with the same phone? Thanks for your input.

You could always just buy extra batteries and an external battery charger. Then you never have to plug it in. They are cheap on Amazon.
