[Q] Killed my phone :( Help please!! - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I have Xperia Play, and it seems to be cursed :crying: In my poor country no one ever heard of such phone, so service-centers cant help me :crying: So I had to fix it on my own several times. At first it was flex cable issue - fixed(changed), after few month second flex cable issue - fixed(changed), than after 2-3 month died proximity sensor and I disassembled my phone to check connections and clean dust and after I assembled it, it did not turn on, only vibrated and flashed on but with black screen(wtf). I was very angry and disappointed so i hide it far-far away in the darkest corner of my house. But my wisdom wasn`t too strong and after 1 month I took it and turned on - but it didn`t even worse :crying: Sorry for such long life story - hope it can help find the problem. So the problem - the phone doesn`t turn on, doesn`t vibrates, doesn`t flash, only when it is charging the red light is flashing and that all. I have externally charged 2 batteries. No signs of Life :crying:

If you press the back button and press the power does the light light up? Either blue or green depending on pressing back+power or search button+power. From the off state.

[Q] Xperia Ion Bricked?

Hi guys, this is sort of a last resort thing and I've read the thread with "Xperia Ion bricked. Any fix?".
Basically, I was doing the battery callibration (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760207&highlight=battery) and so did the power + volume up button. I did this around 3 times as it went from 95% to 98% then I was expecting it to go up but it stayed at 98% so I decided to do it once more. However, instead of usually vibrating, the screen just instantly went off. Tried to power up but it didn't work. Took it off from the charger and tried all button combinations (power + volume up/down) and still to no avail.
Then I put it in the wall charger again and the LED seems to have a faint orange light coming when charging so I know it's actually charging... Then I thought it may be possible that for some reason, the battery is drained and followed the "Xperia Ion bricked. Any fix?" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771106. After around 15 minutes, the faint orange LED vanished and so I took it off the charger, did the button combinations again and didn't do anything. I put it back in the charger and see the faint orange LED...
Now it's just charging and I don't know what to do Is my beloved Ion bricked? I just got it a month ago :crying: what should I do with it?
Tried plugging it in the computer and PC Companion didn't see my device
Also I live in the UK and I got the phone from Indonesia... It still has a years guarantee but I can't go spend £500 for a ticket just to fix my phone
I'm extremely desperate, please help!
Hold power + volume up wait for one vibrate, keep holding both you should then get three vibrates in a row now turn it on normally, mine kinda did the same thing and I did this

At worst you will need to follow the Soft Brick Steps thread instructions.

Is the phone on? Meaning it's using power in some way (led on, screen is black but on, button lights stay on)? If so you may need to drain the battery, if the reset trick isn't working. Once the battery is dead (this can take up to 24 hours) and it shuts off, try charging it. Do not turn it on till it's charged more than halfway.

The phone is not on at all, the screen is not on, buttons not lighted or on and everything is like it's shut down. I've left it for like 24 hours now and I put it on charge just now, the situation is the same (( what do you think it is? I really hope I can fix it with patience since I've been patient since yesterday. Thanks for the reply but when I charge, the screen stays blank and the LED is not red, it is a slightly faint orange :/
Thanks again

Thanks for replying uchiha but I've put the phone on charge overnight which was like 8 hours and the light just goes. I'm still having this problem. I wish I could go to the sony store but I can't cause the Ion doesn't and will not come out in the UK and they have no parts for it. For now, I'll just leave it on charge for the whole day and see what happens.
Have you tried getting it to shut off then putting it in flashmode with flashtool ready to flash a ftf? Flashmode is USB+ volume down

I had the same problem with the x10 mini of my wife. I have solve that when I unpluged the battery connector to be sure the photo is off. After I used seus to restaure stock rom. Try this method.
I think it is possible to remove or unplug the battery.

I found something funny that my phone does, when on charge and it is left for around 20-25 minutes, the red/orange LED flashes ONCE and then there is no more LED lighting or flashing... It's really weird, I don't know what to do :/

The ion battery CAN'T be remove no matter what...and to TS,if your phone still can't be turn on,try to let the battery completely drain, and leave it like that for 1 hour, and after that try to charge back...
I afraid your phone thought it was 'on' but the screen is 'off' like my old x10 Mini Pro which when I turn on,it vibrate and on (yep, alive) but the screen is black BUT I can feel the touch and the vibration of the phone. To fix the problem,I remove my phone battery for 10 minutes and turn it on again, after that it works perfectly...

htc one x red light flashing and phone won't start

I have bought a htc one X a day ago, which was imported from some eastern country. The phone ran well for an hour or something.. and after that, it just dropped dead. The battery was about 60% when it dropped dead. And when I charge, the red light keeps on blinking. It won't turn on, or the red light will not be stable.
When i try to boot into bootloader, the phone does go into bootlader. But I have to keep my charging plug on. If i remove even for a second. the phones switches off again.
I can't go to warranty as this is a replacement. Some guidence will be appreciated. Thank you.

1. Charge the device for at least 10 minutes
2. With the device truly OFF (NOT ON STANDBY) , push in and hold volume up and volume down AND power button And HOLD for 2 minutes and let go once 2 Minutes has passed.
Doing this will calibrate the Circuit within the battery charging system.

If the phone doesn't power on & If the red led doesn't turn on while charging your phone then you should take it to service centre.. Might be a problem in battery or the motherboard
There is a batch file running about that helps charge from boot loader.
On phone so can't find it currently.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm currently in this situation myself. I read the thread suggested here, but it helps very little if you can't even get to fastboot. For what it's worth, I do have a custom recovery, but a stock image. And the mother board is okay - I've swapped in a different battery and that seems to work, but I do want to get my original battery to work...
guys i have a solution i guess .. put your phone connected to laptop or computer for several minutes dont remove . it might take sometime and afterwards you will listen the usb connecting voice and the blinking will stop and will be stable and then you can turn on the mobile
If you have a flashing power light
This is when your device has overheated and wont let you start up your OS.
Plug your phone in for afew minutes then hold down the power, volume up and down buttons at the same time untill a white developers screen comes up, disconnected your device from cable and click on recover and leave for a minute then plug you power lead back in and leave again. When you come back to you phone it the LED should be a solid color and you can then boot your device.
Any problems Message me, any time.
Thanks

After doing reset\calibration of battery circuit we put phone on the wall charger and wait until green LED.
Right?

In most cases, must to change the cable or adapter, or both. I had the same problem twice.

Dead Phone - RED LED OF DEATH

Flashed Lifeless last night. Everything was working fine, left the phone charging at 10% then today I wake up to a dead phone. Wont charge, wont boot. Only sign of life is holding the power button down for like 20 sec and the battery LED will turn on for like 20 sec but only if its plugged in. What gives? Anyone have any idea what might be going on?
Plug into a 2 amp charger or do a battery pull.

Same thing has happened to me! I have done a battery pull as well with no avail. I am using a 1.2 A charger, the one that came with my phone and still nothing. I can get the red light as well but nothing else. I have pronounced the Phone as DEAD and have already bought a new phone(funds are tight so it was a was crappy situation). If ANYONE has a real working solution to this PLEASE tell us!(I'd greatly appreciate it)

Similar situation
I'm on stock but had the same problem. Phone totally discharged, plugged it into my car charger, phone got hot by camera but did not charge. Got home plugged it into stock charger, same thing. Battery charging on screen, phone hot, then dim light on screen. tried for a day or so, no luck.
Tried holding power button for 20-30 seconds, nothing, Vol up and down + power, nothing. By accident held power and vol up and charging light came on, held it for a minute, and it stayed on, let go, out it went. As a last resort, put two rubber bands around the phone to hold in power and Vol up and bingo! Charging light stayed on! left it overnight and found the phone completely charged in the AM, green light flashing. Been working fine for days, Willnot let it get too low of a charge in the future.

[Q] N2 DEAD?

Well I have had my note 2 for almost a year now, never an issue. The last couple weeks it has been locking up on me. I had to reset it via taking the battery out. This morning it locked up and it will not turn back on. Charging it also shows no LED lights at all (tried different charger and battery). I have a dongle, tried it.. no go. Also of course tried Volume up/down home combo...no go. Running stock rom/rooted. Any help or ideas would of course be appreciated!
Slight update: While pressing the power button, the red led light blinks quickly, but still no go...

They 'seem' to be ok...Best I can tell anyway.
First of all you need to power up your N2 and for this you need some equipments to check the battery connectors and the mainboard status if there is any short circuits etc...I recommend you to visit an service for this.

I imagine that would be the best course of action. Like I said, I did try another working battery (wifes N2), no go. Mine does work in hers. Has to be the phone hardware I think...
Also take the charger with you too. I burned out mainboard of iPhone5s with a charger because of it's connectors.
Unfortunately I have no service center close. With this international phone I may be SOL...

[Q] Phone bricked, warranty refused due to custom ROM - please help

Hi folks,
My Z1 Compact has died a few days ago, and I was running Resurrection Remix (CM mod) ROM.
I was playing some music and I put it back on the charger dock with the screen facing backwards, and there was a little chirp coming through the speakers after which the phone was dead.
I figure I must have bricked it by turning it around, I had no idea it could damage the phone.
When connected to the charger it just gave a blinking red light. No sign of life otherwise. Cannot be turned on regardless of key combinations, and does not respond to hard reset button next to the sim card slot.
It's still under warranty so I sent it back for a repair, but the repair center refused it because it has a custom ROM.
Is there any way I can flash the stock ROM when the phone is like this? They're obviously able to reach some part of it because they see the software versions. (they sent me a screenshot)
I had a similar brick two days ago.
Z1c was playing music and suddenly became death. No response to anything, even charging led. I press power + volume up and force reset was done, with blinking led and three vibrations.
But didn't boot.
PC didn't recognize it. Nothing.
Yesterday I connect to wall charger while pressing volume up and it displayed charging status (from 75%) and the It booted.
Now my battery has this status.
Edit: can't upload screenshot. By the way battery staysed at 50% for hours then dropped.
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Free mobile app
Well I think I bricked mine when I put it the wrong way on the charger dock. I was afraid it would have burnt the circuit board, but since the repair centre can see the phone details over USB I guess it must be ok, so my next guess is that the battery is dead.
They're sending it back to me today and I have nothing to lose by trying different things.
The phone doesn't vibrate though, when connected to the charger the light blinks red. It doesn't react to any button being pressed.

You probably have the battery drop problem that is discussed on the help section...
If you mean this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...ttery-reporting-phone-dying-suddenly-t3095120
Then it's definitely not the same issue.
I cannot switch my phone on, I cannot reset it, and I cannot charge it.
To be honest I'm more interested in getting the custom ROM off it so that I can send it back for repair, if it had stock ROM they would have replaced whatever died.
