[REQ] GPE KitKat audio files | Unlock & Lock & Touch - One (M7) Themes and Apps

I played around with cm11 but I decided I'm not ready for it yet, so I'm back on sense 5.5 KK 4.4 ARHD. Even though I liked the cm11 very much what I really miss about it is the snappy vanilla sounds it has for unlock/lock/touch..
If anyone could upload them into a flashable/nonflashable zip it would be amazing.
Edit:: I did manage to extract the ogg files from the cm11 ROM.. I guess it is no longer needed for me but others might want it.
Edit2:: appearntly , changing the 'tick' or 'touch' sounds in system data cripples the speakers, basically does a weird sharp static sound every time you 'tick' or 'touch' anything even on silent which got me worried, but switching back to stock 'tick' sound fixes the issue.. Anyone has an explanation to why this is behaving like this?

I don't know if this phone is like my previous LG Optimus 2X but it also was like that, on Stock ROMS the speaker was way louder than on CyanogenMod based ROMS, try using a stock based ROM or install Volume+ from the Play Store it helps with the speaker volume. (Be careful with Volume+ and don't put the value too high or else the sound may be distorted.)
i've already tried the volume+ with no luck, i think its related to the speakers drivers in sense stock rom, and am looking for an advanced help to be brought to CM10, hope anyone from the dev team to find a real fix for this.
probably due to a proprietary driver in the tegra that is closed source... android is an open source software for closed source handset...

[Q] Audio-jack problem ONLY on non-stock ROMs

(I thought I'd report the following issue, in case someone else had experienced it or if someone understands why)
On non-stock ROMs, the sound from ANY application (phone, music player, etc...) comes out heavily distorted through the audio jack but NOT through the phone's speaker. This has been verified on CM10.1.3 STABLE and various 4.3 ROMS.
I used to not have this problem and I've been running CM10.1 based ROMs and more recently various 4.3 ROMS without this problem for many months. Recently the problem started so I tried completely wiping, reformating of SD card, and re-installations of ROMs to no avail. Took it to a technician who replaced the whole jack-unit but it didn't help. So...I ODINed back to stock 4.1 and problem was fixed! However, any time I install a non-stock ROM, the problem returns, and only re-ODINing back to a stock ROM fixes it. I've tried 4 or so times....
I've been able to flash Custom 4.3 STOCK-BASED ROMS (based on leaks) without any issue as well, so it's not an issue with flasing "custom ROMs" perse, or with Android 4.3...(thank God! at least I can flash Touchwiz 4.3!)
Does anyone have a clue what's going on here?
Do the roms have a volume or sound enhancement mod do you think? If you flash an older one that used to work fine, does it also exhibit the same problem? If not, maybe try using the audio files from the old Rom in the new one? Probably won't help, but you never know...

As far as I know, there were no audio/volume enhancements in the ROMs I tried (CM 10.1.3 and Carbon ROM) only the usual DSP audio app (which I made sure wasn't running). Yeah, those exact ROMs totally worked in the past without a problem, and it wasn't just my sound files that sounded distorted out of the jack it was any sound from any app (system sounds, phone, etc...)
I might try again with a non-stock ROM if/when Android 4.4 becomes stable, otherwise for the time being I'm happy to stick with TW 4.3 (thanks to you!) It's really awesome!

Can't argue with you there! On a new build now and will get it released when I get my computer back from my daughter! So watch out for that in just a bit!
And in case you didnt see it, there is a 4.4 Rom posted. Looks like it was just updated with more functionality too. You should take a look if you haven't yet.

I tried the 4.4 and unfortunately I the same audio distortion problem returned right away. This was coming from being on the TW 4.3 Leak (#2) from over a week straight with the problem. I researched how to lower the audio jack levels in Cyanogen ROMs and found out about this file: "snd_soc_msm_2x" in the system folder
I messed with that file a bit (with a text editor) and managed to get the distortion to go away by lowering ALL of the headphone outputs by 20%. Problem is that then the volume was really too low to enjoy music on. I tried only 10% lower but then the distortion came back. After that I gave up, but convinced that there's something in the deep CM audio settings which my phone no longer likes, Weird.
BTW, I was able to Nandroid back to my TW 4.3 and the problem disappeared. So at least, there's no need to ODIN if I ever want to try again.
there is information about hacking that file here on xda. i think i saw it in an s4 forum but they got their info from the s3. if i remember or find it again ill let you know. but a quick search might find it as well.

[Q] CM 11 boomsound

I recently flashed Cyanogenmod 11 onto my HTC One M8, and I'm loving the **** out of it. However, it has some flaws. As it is a nightly version, I'm totally cool with that, and I'm wiling to try and work around them. However, the speakers sound noticeably worse. At max volume they crackle like crazy and searching the settings menu, I noticed there is no "Boomsound" setting as there is in the stock OS, and in the GPE os. Just wondering if anyone has any insight, maybe a way to flash boomsound on separately, or if you think CM will add that in at a later date, or anything really. Loving this phone and OS, and I'd like to get all I can out of the awesome speakers.... thanks!

Boomsound is proprietary HTC software. It will probably never go to CM. However, there are EQ setting for any sort of effect you may want... never noticed a difference with Boomsound besides slightly louder audio. I did notice the crackling at max volume, but didn't really use speaker at max too often so it didn't bother me much.
You can always use GPe+Xposed for bugfree and customization. That's my setup.

Same issue! Such distortion!
We need to port boomsound.
I've heard of using ViPER4Android as a replacement for Boomsound, but not actually tried it myself.

Custom Rom Experiences on M8

Good morning Folks!
well, after converting my m8 to GPE, I experimented with some Custom Roms (PA and CM). The issues were A broken mic (can't send memos in WhatsApp, when someones calling, they cant hear me...) and Soundproblems (Cracking speakers etc. Although, I think I found a solution named Viper4Android [?]). Is this all fixed in the newer Builds? I want to get that Sense UI away but don't want to stick to GPE. I think SlimKat would do it job on my phone.
Sincerly,
Phil

I've had a pretty smooth experience with paranoid android. Sure there isn't wifi calling, nor the sense camera that lets you use the third camera, but its pure google and fast (I used a custom kernel)
However, I'm back on sense, honestly Sense feels faster most of the time, especially since i removed the annoying carrier apk's. And with root everything is as if not more customizable than in a custom rom with a lot of options. Just stock OTA, custom kernel, debloat, xposed mods, and boom.

Yes, thats true and I got over all this sense only features. I think, I'm gonna flash slimkat once and tell you of it's better.
EDIT: Okay, so I tested cm-11-20140812-NIGHTLY-m8 (yeah, not the latest but I only had that file on my card :S). Speakers sound as natural as with BoomSound. I was very very surprised, gonna compare it later with my sisters m8. Until now, I haven't seen a single lag, except after flashing gapps, my systemui fc'd. Battery consumption is unknown yet, I only used it ~15 minutes. But to have something...
I started with ~89% (flashing and wiping etc)
Display-on: 51%
Android-System: 10%
Android-OS (?): 7%
Media: 5%
Google+: 4%
Camera: 3%
cLock: 3%
Cell Standby: 3%
com.android.systemui: 3%
WiFi: 3%
(Seems ok for me now)
I report more when I've installed WhatsApp
EDIT 2: Okay, found out that Microphone isn't working. I am now back at my ARHD Backup. Maybe I'm gonna try Slimkat later

How to change Screenshot sound on MIUI 10?

Hi
I have Note 5 Pro (6GB-^$GB), Global ROM, MIUI 10.2.1 - updated from previous MIUI 9
The sounds for various notification etc are damn crap and I personally feel the ones in MIUI 9 were much better, I wish I knew this before updating, then I wouldnt have.
As though cannot complaint much being on 10.2.1 apart from other notification sound I can stay on it.
The only extremely annohying one is Screenshot sound, it just hurts ears, not sure who decided to put this sound but its well annoying. I do take many screenshots, and I wish I could change this sound and put either old one (from MIUI 9) or any better one replacing this. I know I can switch OFF this sound but I rather change it then switch OFF, uless there is no other good and simple possible way.
Do not wanna go on Rooting, though Bootloader is Unlocked.
Any way to do this?
