Hey guys, before I begin, I've attempted to search the forums & I've been unable to find an adequate answer, so if there is an answer out there to my question & I missed it, my bad.
My question is thus. I have a Galaxy S3 LTE, model sgh-t99L T-Mobile branded & I'm considering rooting & installing a custom rom. I have done this previously with a HTC Sensation 4g successfully & I'm comfortable with the procedure. However, I've been unable to find any information on if it is possible to root the T-Mo S3 LTE model, if there is a way to restore the device to stock after rooting it, and the necessary tools to do so.
I'm happy with my device as is, but I like to tweak things, so I'd like to at least know if its possible to root my device & if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction.
*Note at the time of posting this, the search feature was "unavailable"*
Thank you guys for your assistance
Sean
Ok, first thing you need to know is this is a question, and as such should be asked in Q&A. Also if you were to look in Q&A you would find a dedicated thread for the T999L that is almost always on the first page. And if you read the stickies you would find a link to it in the roll-up thread.
Not lecturing, just helping so you know for the future. Also, when xda search is down, you can Google "xda T999L info" or similar and it should show up.
Your questions are already answered in that thread btw. Link is also in my Sig.

Thank you for the insight & pointing me in the right direction.
I own a T-Mobile Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999L). I would like to root it for tasker. And other cool things I here about it. I looked up techzilla and found this web page. I looked for phone and provider (T-mobile) and here is where my snag is. On this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-t-mobile In bold I see T999. I have T999L. I don't know if the video method on the lower portion of the page would work in my favor. Please help thank you.
Easiest method is to use root66, its prerooted firmware and there is a section for the t999l, I believe in the general thread, if not just search and you will find it

Welcome to the club! The root66 firmware serio22 mentioned is in Android Development. Easiest way to find it though is in my firmware thread which is stickied at the top of that section (and linked in my sig). You can download the firmware there but if you want to check out the original thread (recommended) by mrRobinson, just click on the root66 heading in my thread.
Tip: make sure you check out all the sticky threads in each section. There is a lot of great info in them that will help you get started! As with anything here, try to get as far as you can on your own, but if you get stuck or are unsure of something and can't find an answer by searching, feel free to ask. There are several folks here who are always happy to help, so long as you are willing to first try to help yourself!
Good luck and have fun!!!

Hi, there are a few tutorials on rooting Note 2.
There is a step by step guide on galaxynote2root.com, google it with your model number phone its easy to find. I am unable to send you the link due to not posting enough comments yet. (SORRY I TRIED)
Let me know how you go...

Hi friend.i have a galaxy tab s 8.4(t705) running stock 5.0.2 rom.how can i root it?pls help.i need to root my tab
tnx
If you don't know what you're doing, i recommend against it. Otherwise, before someone else, much meaner than me, tells you something. I will give you advice. What you just typed and asked here, I would say...maybe type and ask the same thing in google, youtube, or the search box right here in the forums. You will find plenty of info. I've had to learn the hard way myself, if you can first try and help yourself, try it. then, if you're stuck or still having problems, I imagine most folks here would step in and give you their expertise. I have no expertise, so I can't be of much help, sorry. I do have some experience with rooting and flashing roms though. I haven't done it to my Tab S yet.
