[Q] anyone manage Angry Birds Go to run on Play? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, anyone manage to play this on Xperia Play?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rovio.angrybirdsgo
It is free on market, but game need 195MB on internal memory. I succesfully install it but when i run it, it show me loading picture, and when music start playing, it kicks me out to homescreen.
I'm on ICS rom (Neo2Play) and on lupus ics/gb 480p kernel
If someone played it, please state your rom/kernel

I played it using another method
There are some games around the websites that you can put the data in sd card
But the game was very laggy because it beeds 512 mg ram
It closes in all of the ics roms but it works very awful in stock gb(too many lags. I think using swap can reduce the lags)

I can make space to install it in /data, but it always kick me to home screen due lack of free RAM.
I was just wondering is it working at all in some lite GB (or JB) ROM.

I installed it today on Gin2Kittkat, switched in Ram Manager to heavy gaming and it closed after loading. Then I copied swap script to init.d, reboot and the game run normally. Graphics on Xplay is much worse than official screenshots, but it is playable and with only little lags. And it "support" Xperia Play gamepad - if you choose touch controls then you can turn with touchpads.

[Q] psXperia and other emulator question

Currently i am using x10 mini which i think is not enough for my daily use already . And i am considering to upgrade to either arc s or play .Therefor i would like to ask a few question about xperia play so i can make my mind .
1) Is psXperia can suport most of the ps one game if i have the cds ? is the converting process will be difficult ?
2) can xperia play suport game boy 's classic games ?
3) play has 380mb of internel memory . Is that enough for N.O.V.A , assasin creep and modern warefare etc ?
I really into the dual speaker of xperia play i will get it if i am statifice with the question above
pls help to clarify those question for me
thx guys
PSXPeria no longer works after the 2.3.4 update, so unless you intend to stay on 2.3.3- it's no use anymore. But FPse works perfectly for me with every game i have tried.
There is an emulator for GBC and GBA, Tiger also have a beta NDS emu out.
It's more than enough, all the gameloft HD games work perfectly. Remember the play is one of the only phones on the market with dual channel DDR2 ram.
That mean that the only way i can play ps one games that ripped from CDs is stay on 2.3.3 ?

As for the low internal memory use the setInstallLocation trick helps to move apps to the SD card even built in ones.

I think he's talking about storage, you wouldn't ask if you could run all of those games at the same time
Remember, the fpse emulator has no touchpad support. :S So you will have to downgrade to GB 2.3.3 or lower. Or buying them from the official PS Suite... that sounds bad for you, eh?
Been doing research bout Fpse
most of them saying that it suport less game and less smooth when
compared to psXperia
and silent hill ( not playable ) ??
need more info about ps one emulator before i buy it .

[Q] Best ICS Rom for gaming

What is the best ICS Rom that plays well with games? I want an ICS custom rom where its stable enough to use daily and can run all of the emulators and xperia play games fine (battlefield, nova, dead space, ect).
ICS++
Where can I get it for the Xperia Play??

Well it depends what type of ICS you are looking for. The best I would say would be the official Beta sony released a while ago!
here is the link: http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/...or-unlocked-xperia-play-smartphones-download/
But if don't like the Sony firmware interface and the loads of crap thats comes with it then I'd also say ICS++
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599906
But I have to say Atarii is no longer continuing with ICS++ he has GalaxyS3 and won't be around as frequent. So I'd say having said that you'd be better off with ROM that DEVS are working on ATM i.e.
1) Cyanogenmod 9 by Freexperia: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1447542
Touchpad/gamepad and Gaming Optimisation: Medium (Emulators work still a work in progress) More stable with normal games
2) Official ICS port of Xperia ray: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599269
Touchpad/gamepad and Gaming Optimisation: Good (Emulators work still a work in progress - New game launcher)
Well I was happy with GB 2.3.4 for gaming until I decided to play HAWX. No Gamepad support… then I found GAMEKEYBOARD. At that time there was no support for touchpads, only the game buttons. The only option was JOYSTICK CENTER, only available for ICS! I decided to try it, also willing to get a better user interface…
The first rom I tried was the official sony ICS Beta version, very stable, however it was slow for some high end games (TDKR for example). Some OLD games crashed such as Shadow Guardian and HAWX.
I installed the Pureless ICS afterwards, however the user interface and figures were a little bit too fancy for me…did not tried the performance
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822118
Then I changed to Markphyton’s Stock ICS… great rom too. Stable and with nice user interface and widgets, such as menu when scrolling down the screen. 180 Mb RAM size… realy nice! But TDKR was still slow and the crashing game issue still happened for old games… When Wild blood came and even with overclock the game was lagging…I decided to change it back to GB!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1854682
So… I went back to GB… this time NXT light… what a rom. The rom itself is only 80 Mb, so there is a lots of RAM free! Very stable. Some things I like about it:
- All games run lackless!
- The apps already installed are exactly what I needed (except the file explorer).
o The Music player (Clean Music) plays directories and even skips the song when pressing volume button longer!
o Quick Pic is fast and let me select multiple Pictures at same time
- Percent Battery icon is even better than Markphyton’s Stock ICS
- Menu when scrolling down the screen
- Camera works with buttons and FOCUS and TAKES the picture when pressing R button stead of only focusing like the Camera MOD app in googleplay.
- The cool old TV looking when screen turns off
So I also tried NXT2JB rom just for fun, but it came with so mane apps that I do not use that I went back to NXT light right away!
PS: Gamekeyboard NOW controls touchpads in xperia play... so I am finally happy!!!

Does Lag Free Gaming Really Exist?

Hi Guys, i missed my xperia play so i bought a new one, the scene has changed on here since i left it a year ago for the better, brilliant roms and kernels now!
However am i doing something wrong?
I've tried many kernels and rom combinations but im still experience lag in games (not as bad as a year ago though)
It annoys me as i will be enjoying a game then it will just lag really bad and i lose control of the dpad / touchpad for a few seconds.
Its not constant lag but enough to bug me!
I've tried LuPuS v12 480p and extremkernel R2 000p with the following roms:
Gin2jellybean
Aurora Play
XElite
Atomic
I cant get bane of speed to install (keep getting E: partition error? help?)
These are all GB roms will i have better success on Ice Cream Sanswhich?
i usually OC with 1.6ghz smartass v2 / sio (However i've tried all settings even under-clocked)
Any advice / help would be great
p.s.
Major annoyance is when i play Mario kart 64 on n64oid it freezes my phone no matter what kernel / rom / OC settings im on!!! v2.7 doesn't crash on mupen any ideas?
You should really try ICS roms. Pritty much stable and able to run even heavier games. Just keep in mind that in ICS roms it's everlasting battle in perfomance vs features. Use lupus ICS/GB 480p kernel.
Ofcorse, it depends what games/emulators you are playing, but i can say ICS is compatible with 95% of games (that i try).

Did u data reset before tryuing each rom? (use Tiyanium Backup to backup and resote apps exactly where they were!)

Edit
Imo best rom is stock debloted+RTmixManager/v6SuperXharger/Pizza_Box(not all jusr 1 of em)
Edit2
Sounds weird but keep ur oc to 1.2 GHz in games, just try thqt, nd dont use performancr govenor unless emulating
It is obviously personal preference - i have just spent the whole night testing roms.
Don't like the ICS roms they all seem too fiddly,
I finally settled on LuPuS v12 480p and Gin2jellybean 1.4ghz / smartassv2 / sio
UI is smooth and modern looking and most games run fast as! only getting the odd stutter during a game but only on some and its rare.
I have one major issue now which i dont know if its the rom or the kernel, but i'll pick 2 games its occurring on: Rage of the gladiator and Lara Croft both games are not playing videos in game?
The phone doesn't play any mp4 on the basic stock player, anyway i can fix this? (3rd party players do work but not for the in game videos)
Thanks in advance
why don't you try JB ROMS ..try this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357756
always wipe data/cache/system/rom before installing a new ROM. hopefully this should fix your problem..

It was the kernel learnt the difference between full / ram (full contains video playback) im all happy now it doesnt have seemed to affect the games in anyway that i can notice anyway.
thanks for all your help and suggestions
I use performance for gaming as it keeps the frequency set. Smartass changes frequencies constantly and that could have some affect
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk 2
On the lupus 480 kernel I get that too with the videos not playing. Asphalt 6 wontload the opening video but says it's unable to play it. Then it loads the game

Real Racing 3

hi guys, i have 1 problem. as u know we have small RAM... so when i play RR3 (when changing cars, color, go to different frames*) [not while playing, it works good] it crashes most time, as i have seen it is 50-70 MB when playing... [NFS Most Wanted Is 80-120 MB and never crashes] so i thing that it is because of GPU and not RAM...
what do u think? anyone playing RR3 ?

Are you in version 1.1.12? Cause I am and menu lags, unlike in 1.2.0 and 1.3.0. I tried swap2cache, and doesn't lag anymore. Just wait a long delay at startup.
I tried 1.2.0, gameplay was cruel. lol. So i switched back to 1.1.12.
I have stock 4.0.4 ... and RR3 1.1.7

so which is recommended version ? 1.1.2 or 1.2.0/1.3.0 ?

You mean swap? We cannot extend ram, swap only allocates unused memory to the partition. But swap is great for heavy games.
My game crashes before but I discovered what made my game crash, vm.swappiness, I increased it to 60.
I was on stock before but I can't play heavy games, so I switched to custom GB rom, heavily tweaked it and I don't experience lag anymore.
I tried 1.2.0 and 1.3.0, gameplay sucks, as every race earns very few money. So I stay in 1.1.12, balanced gameplay. hehe.

Well its not working well on xperia play
I got it working on lupus ics/gb and my 4.1.b.13 port
But the game closed after entring a massion or entering house and ...
After setting 256mg swap it worked again withot problems (beside the lags)
But now its closing again for me but sometimes works fine
The only problem that is causing these problems is ram
Most of the games need at least 1gb ram these days
My sdcard is only 8gb so i cant test it with higher amount swap but i think some of the problems will be solved
