OdexMe is an application i've written for my MCR ROM, but that should work on any ROM with init.d support and busybox in /system/xbin.
Basically, it's an APK you push to /system/app and when you run it, it...
Reboots your device
Odexes everything in /system/app
Deletes the dalvik cache and it's own APK (as you only need to run it once)
Reboots the device and rebuilds the dalvik-cache
As you may or may not know, the dex files for the system applications take a fair old chunk of space on data - this gets around that.
Of course, odexed /system/data means you can't make any /system/framework changes, but how often do you need to do that? If you DO need to, you can reflash your ROM, do the changes, then run OdexMe again.
As I say, this is written for and tested on MCR, so if you try it, backup first and use at your own risk.
You can check it's worked by looking at /system/app after reboot, it should have a bunch of odex files, plus /data/dalvik-cache will have shrunk lots.
You can grab it in this post and one last thing - the initial reboot and odex takes a while, so be patient.
ROM devs - feel free to include this if you like it in your ROMs, but please let me know (and give me credit) so I can contact you when a new update comes out (i'm working on the next release with a few other tweaks).
Enjoy!

Hi Paul!
As usual you did a fantastic job!
I was wondering if your app also delete classes.dex inside APKs! As you already know this should be deleted as well!
Thanks in advance!
L.
Nice!
Works with Revolution 2.5 (KG6).
Now the Tw4Launcher from Fr4gg0r is also odext and gmail shows more than the last 3 mails on startup. THX
@Leomar
Yes it does delete the classes file inside the apk.
I'm not that known with odexed and deodexed stuff etc. but i'm wondering what's the advantage of odexing the system apps?

*Quicker initial bootups of custom ROMs
*Less memory is consumed
*Less storage used in /data due to the fact that pre-optimised dex files are stored on /system already (save space and boost performance)
Thanks Paul

Thanks for explanation.. I'll stick with deodexed atm, enough memory free and space left in data and boot speeds i dont care about
Works fine on criskelo v12.
Thanks!
I´m Sorry, but i think (and I tested it) on my Milestone and the Bootlogo don´t move. So it stands on one Point and I have to go back into my OR..for sure i´ve made an nandroid Backup..do you think this is possible?
Milestone CM has the init.d folder and the BusyBox.. thank`s for your hard work !
i'll try it on my MIUI 1.8.12 rom today, but first a nandroid just in case
Paul this is the sort of thing I know you are really good at doing, but you don't release enough useful apps like this.
You should start releasing more apps like this that are useful to the dev community as a whole.
Good job.

Hi Paul,
Massive thanks for the application, I deodexed KG6 and edited some system files to create a ROM with just the features I really wanted.
Now odexed successfully with your application.
Just a quick question, would it be possible to odex /framework later down the line too? I'm assuming the framework would need to be odexed first before /system/app?
Thanks again, great to see you on the SGSII scene after I was a subscriber to Modaco for your work on the Desire.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I used this app moment I noticed in MCR rom and then odexed cog and ASOP Rom. All is well except I couldn't see any of the ringtones in either of these two roms.
I will give it another go and report back.
Thanks for a great app.
Confirmed; not only ringtones but also music player can't see any song too. checked with drm services, these are running fine.
About this ROM
This ROM is all about battery, performance and stability. GioPro, SimpliGio, and Sgg dt have many tweaks which are not working due to syntax errors. While some others may work but are not optimized for our Gio. Don't get me wrong. They are great roms! But I hope I can correct what I feel they did wrong.

I am currently asking people for help on how I can keep a2sd on start.
However a2sd can be found here

If you happen to know a solution on how to auto start scripts let me know
i dont know. for link2sd i use script manager to run "install-recovery.sh"
I will look for script manager.I will work as fast as possible

Please, no default ROM manager. There are users who brick their phones using ROM manager, apparently without doing stupid things. Please see here: http://s5660.pl/temat-martwy-gio
forum is in polish, but google translate will do a good job
And if I'm allowed, please let me tell what I would like to see on a "generic" custom rom:
- rooted;
- root explorer integrated;
- deodexed;
- phone should not be unlock by menu (power) button + left touch button (as with gio versions);
- safe tweaks to memory;
- a2sd installed but not activated (I don't like logs full of errors from a2sd);
- GUI: icons from GIOpro_v3, CRT animation, unlock buttons from simplygio (the round blue-red ones, with a sharp corner) - or a separate theme (maybe editable by userd) that can be applied;
- default: launcher (can be changed by user, no big deal), music player, no app that can be installed simply from market or internet.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and (the most important!) your work with us!
Screenshot Please.
I also would like to not to have unlock by menu option.
Screenshots coming!
Do you guys mind I replaced the default messaging mms.apk with Go SMS Pro? Since there happens to be a bug in mms.apk on every Gio that makes the keyboard appear relatively slower.
v1.4 will feature Touchwiz launcher again, removed CWM

Go SMS Pro is free on the market, and removing mms.apk is easy with root explorer, isn't? I don't think you should bother replacing the default one.
In place, I propose to do something like Slax:simple updates that can be applied over the ROM, to add (or change) functionality.
so, for example, there should be one update to replace the default messaging application with Go SMS Pro.
is-it reasonable? it should help you to release a clean bug-free ROM, and users will not flash the whole system over and over again. IMHO this will be great.

Root Explorer suckes in my opinion...
Try looking for Advanced Tools (free)
It has a built in task manager which is able to see everything. Not just running programs, even the acore etc...
The file explorer is far superior to those I have seen. You also have like 4 tabs.
A build.prop editor is also in it.
If you guys want I will release a quick fix with just the Mms.apk and touchwiz30launcher.apk back in action. But I am actually working on ext2 conversion and support for /cache /data and /system for our phone... So far it works, I have Quadrant score of 1600

Advanced Tools is looking good, but I did not test-it enough (yet).
1600 on Quadrant is quite a good score, it just tell us that you are on the right way!
I understand that at this moment moving/extending some folders on the sdcard is the hardest part. What happens with the system when card is connected as storage on the PC? Only fat32 partition is unmounted? More...I'm almost sure that the speed of sdcard is inferior to the speed of internal storage, so moving everything on the card will slow-down the phone. Installing conventional linux on sdcard/usbstick is not recommended: usual read-write cycles of the OS wear the sdcard/usbstick very fast.
So, imho, only the storage folder of android OS should be moved.
I still vote for a minimum modified ROM, that will allow any other modification with only "updates" and simple file replace/edit on the OS.
and another thought: "free RAM is useless RAM",
in other words: internal memory of the phone should not be as empty as possibly... (it's like you have a fast car in the garage but you use a slow and hungry cart to drive)
GT-S5660M ?
Will this work on the Samsung GT-S5660M
This is apparently slightly different version that is sold in Canada by Bell and Virgin Mobile. This thread explains more about the differences
If I5660XXKQB works for your phone then this one will work as well.
My personal opinion is every model has its own firmware. For the best experience of your phone and the least bugs, you should use your own phone's firmware for your safety.
But I remember I5800 and I5801 being fully compatible with eachother. But this wasnt the case for I5000 and I5000L for example. Honestly I don't know it is you having that phone !

No,l don't.All I know is wmservice opens up multiple other services just like "googleplay services" so it hogs ram and removing it doesn't cause boot loop.

You can edit the script as per your needs.
If you dont know apk ids you want to remove, you can do one thing.Use aroma fm in twrp and move apks(make sure to move, not delete) to a folder in your sdcard that could possibly be ones you want to remove.
If any thing goes wrong, like a boot loop or wong app removed. You can copy or move back the apk from your sdcard to /system/app or system/priv-app using aroma fm and giving right permissions(i,e 644).
Once you successfully removed all unwanted apks, you can update debloat script with the apk ids you have on your sdcard folder.

Debloat script will work,
If you want to flash 'Mod sound_thermal_sdcard_buildprop.zip',you need to remove "build.prop" from the zip file.
i,e open zip file--Delete build.prop using xpolre file manager
In this case all mods work except build.prop tweaks.
Or
Edit your rom build.prop(using xplore fm open rom.zip-->copy bulid.prop to sdcard--->copy #Added Tweaks found in build.prop file of 'Mod sound_thermal_sdcard_buildprop.zip'--->open build.prop on your sdcard with text editor--->pasted copied lines at the end.
Now with this new edited build.prop on sdcard replace biild.prop in 'Mod sound_thermal_sdcard_buildprop.zip' using xplore fm.
Now you can flash this zip with working build.prop tweaks too.
As far as I know, whetstone.apk is for RAM management. I read it somewhere about MIUI.
I uninstalled it, not because of this thread, and facing minor issues.
The issue particularly come from background music playing.
Some players with hi res capability often to crashing while playing in thr background, and need to restart the player to make work again.
It occur with: jet audio, neutron, and playerpro. The highest occurrences are with neutron.
no script working on global official 9.2.3 phone is not booting
I have Started to re-Compile ALL MY Builds and most of them were compiled by hand or I used Rom Maker Latest. This way of building my rom 's would result in some stability issues. Please take note that all ROMS will be DODEXED and ZipAligned with all Build-Prop Tweaks and Init-d support and tweaks.
Hint if you ever wish to go back to odex here is a simple tip
1st Why we need to odex back ?
-It depends on the user , If you love modding and playing with apktool to customize your device. It is not recommended to odex. Because we cannot retrieve smali folder from apk files.
-If you are just a Custom ROM user and do not play with the apktool or do not know how to mod your system, You can use this guide
-Odex has a lot of free RAM and makes your device more stable than Deodex
2nd -For those user who love to gaming, This guide is for you, Using Deodex ROM consume more RAM and you will not be able to play a hard and really good graphic game, IT WILL FORCE CLOSE . To fix that just simple odex it back.
Requirements:
Rooted
Lucky Patcher Latest
Deodex ROM
Brains
Backup
Tutorial :
Download and install Lucky Patcher ,apk that you just download
Open Lucky Patcher and Grant for superuser permission
At the bottom of the app find "Toolbox" and press it
Scroll Down untill you see "Odex all System Application"
Choose that and wait your device will reboot automatically
Done
In these Forum's ALL MY ORIGINAL SERVERS HAVE BEEN RESTORED for all my BUILDS I will also fix them in the Galaxy S6 Edge + Forum
Hello,
I've created a Debloat Script to systemlessly Debloat the Xperia XZ Premium via Magisk.
Tested on following Devices/Firmwares:
Xperia XZ Premium (G8141): 47.2.A.8.24, 47.2.A.10.28, 47.2.A.10.45 (Pie)
Xperia XA2
If you try on other devices give feedback. It might work on most actual Sony phones.
Attention!
The module removes Sony Home Launcher and Swiftkey Keyboard, so be sure to have another launcher and keyboard installed before you enable the module. (You can download Swiftkey regular from Playstore again)
I recommend Xperia keyboard from here.
Version Infos:
Debloat_vX.X Regular Version
Debloat_vX.XYT Doesn't remove YouTube (due to conflicts when using Debloat + YT-Vanced Magisk Module -> vanced won't show up)
If you find Bloat-apps not included in this Script just tell me and I'll add them.
Also if you succesfully use the Script on other devices/firmwares give Feedback.
Enjoy your clean XZP
Thanks to @Pointless816 for providing a huge list of Bloatware apps in his adb script (here).

Xperia XZ Premium (G8141): 47.2.A.8.24, 47.2.A.10.28, 47.2.A.10.45 (Pie)
Changelog:
v1.2 Fixed Property in Magisk
v1.1 Fixed apps not included in @Pointless816 Script
v1.0 Initial Release

Can you add the contrast reducer aka qualcomm assertive display feature to the list? Im entirely not sure which apk is responsible for this feature, but I'm pretty sure it's an apk and not a system file. I recently saw a display booster apk uploaded on apkmirror, some old version of it is present in the xzp.
P.S. - It's the feature responsible for turning the contrast down so low and makes everything look very light with low saturation when outdoors .

No problem mate, glad to help.
Well I've been trying to debloat my Sonys for a while now using Magisk and Titanium Backup and also another Magisk debloat mod using Termux and neither method worked. At best they would disable apps but not remove and moreover cause boot loop on restart. This mod works!!! I was sceptical at first and thought it would just remove the apps from the primary user but I added a second account to my phone and the apps were gone there too. Also I used this on my XA2 along with my XZ Premium and works for both. The only apps it didn't remove from the XA2 was Amazon Kindle and FM Radio. But I am ecstatic. Thanks alagga!

"Upon further review..." The mod doesn't actually remove the apps it merely hides them, which is OK, but I was able to still see the "deleted" apps with recovery and going into system. I then deleted them there and the few the mod doesn't touch. When it comes right down to it, it's merely a matter of aesthetics as the apps don't take up a lot of space to begin with. I just like complete control over what's on my phone.
It's still a good mod and a fast and easy way to disable and hide those unwanted apps.

This module is especially designed to do it like this. If you use this systemless removing (hiding) of the apps, system stays unmodified and so you're still able to get official OTA's

Use apk analyzer from playstore (or search for the paths manually via a filebrowser) and pass me over the paths of the apps then I'll add them to the script
(should be located either in /system/app/XXX or /system/priv-app/XXX)
