[Updated 2014/02/05]
- new version d2att-twrp-v2.6.3-mb-v1.0 :
- Xposed fixed
- new feature to reboot from android
- new app multiboot.apk ( need d2att-twrp-v2.6.3-mb-v1.0 )
- add credits/reference at the end of message
- add zip version ( to be able to install without odin - only for d2att )
Hi all,
I managed to make working multiboot feature on Galaxy S3.
Below are some videos preview that I did demonstrating the features ( don't look at sound, I removed it because my english is not fluent).
This project is at an early stage but already working with limitations.
If you want to try it, beware that it is dangerous (no risk to brick but if you make mistake you risk to install a zip into your internal rom), so to test it, please follow exactly the operations in videos examples.
Very important recommendations to test :
- BACKUP all your data first !
- Use only your internal if you have at least 4G available ( 7GB recommended because I create sparsed img files but if you fill all the rom, it will take 7GB )
- Use your external sd card only if :
- you have at least 7 GB free
- your filesystem is vfat or ext4 ( exfat, ntfs not supported for the moment ) - Very very important : when you use "set rom" option, you have to see "command succeded" at the end of the output. If not, don't go further and reboot.
- start by playing with recovery roms ( check video ) before testing full rom
- creating rom on vfat can take about 15 minutes (to create img files). Be patient...
The method used is an adapted kexec-hardboot method created by mkasic (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266827), but with a complete replacement of kexec by another userspace program ( kload-harboot ) and a very small kernel patch ( hardboot-reserve ).
Note also that this adapted method is easily portable to any android devices.
If you are interested in this project ( to help for testing, to help dev, to add features etc..), I will open a thread in the developpement subforum, to published sources and explanations.

Hi Smash2Bash,
Sorry to answer lately. I did this program on i747M ( Bell canada provider ) with d2att cm10.2 kernel but as we share the same kernel, it should be fine. Just take care of warnings that I putted in first message. If you can share your experience and tell me if you found problems/bugs.
When I reach 10 posts, I will probalby open a dev thread.

No problem man. It's working good. I tested cm11 paranoid android and it worked good. But I tested avatar ROM 4.3 and it didn't work so well. Probably a ROM issue. And these were tested with my internal ROM as 4.3 touchwiz. You should put in the OP to flash with Odin. And I found a bug I think....
When you make a new ROM and flash the ROM in the new slot, you must swap back to internal in order for it to boot. So you can't swap to it, and then boot it.

Thank's for feedback.
I will add the information that this preview has to be installed with Odin.
In fact, it is prerequisite to go back to original rom to be able to boot a Rom that you installed on internal sdcard ( /data/media/../) .
When you select a rom, it is to make operation on it ( install, wipe etc.. ) but not to boot on it. I admit that it is not very clear...

In my case, it was also to have my original rom (not rooted) for my work during work time, and use other roms outside work.
This looks awesome I will try it out asap. Thanks for the hard work

Nicely done OP! Tested and I can confirm that this does indeed work on the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III SGH-T999!
One small thing though, this mod makes the recovery think that the device is an i747, therefore, T-Mobile ROMs (with the getprop in updater-scripts) cannot be flashed with this. I expect though, that this is a minor issue and can be fixed very easily. Once again, great work! :good:

What kind of bugs are people running into? I just saved my device's ass from a hard brick for the second time in just a few months so I don't want to flash anyting with odin right now, some stability would be nice for a ltitle bit
However, if people have not been having problems once you boot into either ROM, at least nothing additional to what is already a known issue, then I am flashing this sucker RIGHT away. Question, how is /system/ looking? what about build.prop and the init.d folder? are they seperate for each ROM, and if so, how are they managed when I am not booted into one for instance?

Hey forum i back yet again, this time i present to you a new kind of app its called glazed mods. This app is so uniques to all the others, well maybe it may only be one of a kind. So what does this app do, easy it allows you to download the mods that are posted on it. I thought to myself, hmm why not make anyone on any rom enjoy this app, so i am, currently all of the apps are working on glazed ICS, any other rom such as gederom can only download the ones with a little orange plus on them.
By what i mean this app is one of a kind i mean that it uses a new way of presenting apps to you. So what makes it unique is that it is a WebView loading a 600*1024 flash website. It fits perfectly to your screen and the abbilities of flash is customization, and many other little tweaks that this app can support.
Things you need to know
Do not click an item multiple times it might cause the app to crash
There is an update feature that downloads the latest update of the roms listed, if you want to see more roms. Contact me or comment below, need devs permission.
You will recieve automatic updates but not by updating the app.
Please report any bugs in the request section

You have to install through the app in order to detect that it is downloaded. But you can reflash glazed ics or any other rom and it will delete all the mods.
Yes reboot into recovery works, but if you are using FFF 1.4a it doesnt (The one that can have 2 roms at a time)

It needs su because It installs a custom virus. JK.I am using a lot of native code such as wget and that's why I need switch user permissions. It was not working until I added su -c.If you look in the super user logs you can see all commands it uses.

We are having many problems with minus. It either works or it doesnt. We are thinking of reuploading but we have no money for a direct link service were only using minus because its free. Do you have any other direct link service other than dropbox?
Oh a fix for your problem maybe would be to clear cache and data then reboot and it should work.
If that doesnt work you can use the pc version. Its not the best size in the world but it works.

Anyone else experience this?
After using the app and installing the inverted play store i was stuck at the boot animation, let it sit for 30 min with no luck so i had to restore a backup.
Knowing how stupid i am i went to restore a backup and i forgot that i had deleted both the rom zip and my backups from my sd card so i had to get out the ol' laptop, download the rom again and mount through twrp to install. Last part was totally my fault
But anyways im going to try to induce the same problem and see if i can pull the log to see what was going on. Shouldve done that in the first place but again Beer does impair my thinking haha!
apply at goo.im for a dev account. u get hosting, and goo manager access which kind of does what your trying to do with this. or just use it for hosting.

AOCP 6
Android Open Collective Project
This ROM was ported from the Xperia Neo forums. It has been created by arch_saiful. I just ported this amazing work so we can enjoy it's rich experience on our device. I have briefly tested the ROM on my device and found out great performance and speed. The ROM must be extremely stable and has big performance potential. I share it as a beta. It's good for everyday use but you are testing it as a beta in the current stage. Please test and report bugs so I can improve the ROM and bring it to it's fully optimal potential on our device. It is based on CM10.1 compiled for the Xperia Neo V. It has been succesfully ported today to our device. The ROM uses Coderzs 3.0.62 kernel (Thanks ).

BUGS / NOTES
- You have to install to internal memory, apps 2 sd doesn't work, its a kernel issue
Do this to install to internal memory all the time
> Install Rom toolbox from the Play Store
> Open it and press apps2sd
> Pick internal storage
> This works for some reason.... I don't even know, it just did.
- No headset overheat (Thanks to coderzs)
- Kernel is a bit outdated and unstable, but I'll update it with a newer one later (People help me out by flashing kernels and tell me if wifi works)
- You have to flash that supersu package for root rights
- Battery life is decently good.
- Should be fast and smooth
This Includes ...Awesome...'s AwesomeBeats v5 premium
- Awesome Beats is working, execpt I dunno what happened to the equalizer lol.
- You have to activate the Beats though
> To activate
>Go to terminal
> Type "su"
> Type "sysrw"
> Type "awesome"
> After the Awesome Picture text or whatever shows up, Reboot
> Enjoyyyy
- HOPEFULLY Everyone enjoys this!
KERNELS!
I think this is the .58 kernel, someone try it please --> http://goo.gl/NflO9f ---> Random Reboots
This is coderzs .61 kernel --> http://goo.gl/70fk4i ---> Phone and other things keep crashing + Wifi doesnt work.
I dunno if any of these are flashable, I tried making them into a flashable zip but havent tried cause I suck
TESTING THINGYS
Someone open up the rom, then delete the "boot.img"
Then paste this boot.img there --> http://goo.gl/hpt9Ub
Then re-flash the rom. If it boots up YAY!
If it does boot up, then tell me if wifi works. If yes, then every single thing works on this rom. If not then, I gotta keep messing aroud
Looks pretty good!!!
Can someone test out the battery life. The guy who ported this to the dhd said after 2 days of light usage he was still at 75

i forgot I even had spirit in there .
The .61 has no headset heat, it has no apps to SD problems like the .62
And it also doesn't have the screen brightness issue. You can try and replace it by swapping boot.imgs with Team Infernos ShenduOS ROM.

That is Awesome!! Thank you so much!!
I have been running the FeiYu rom and I`m not sure if its the customization or its the international rom itself, But it seems a good more laggy than the stock AT&T rom with no changes at all, I`m not sure if its the rom itself of if it is actually the stock rom acting odd on the AT&T version. I`ll find out when you upload your pure stock version.
I`d love to be able to compile my own rom though. Do you just use a Deoxed system dump to do so? or what?

Is it based on CM10.1 for E980?
Either way, I'm all for it! It'll definitely kickstart a lot of ROMs since most AOSP ROMs I've seen for other phones are based off CM anyway.
AOSP would be awesome, But it would need to be stable and having everything working unlike the current ones:/

Thanks for this work, but just to be safe and sure. We need a Loki-fied recovery?
This is N9005XXUDML2 ported to the TMobile N900T and Canadian N900W8 models.
This ROM is pure international stock N9005 for the N900T and N900W8.
So if you are a purist when it comes to ROMs or simply want a ROM that just works then this ROM is for you.
This is a great ROM to use as a base for modding or as a daily driver.
Stability, performance and battery life are my main objectives.
But if you want this same ROM fully loaded with a lot of MODs and tweaks go to Dragons Air thread!
If you are on AT&T, the TMobile N900T works great on AT&T, LTE included. See second post for more information.
If you want to use all of part of this ROM to build your own ROM, credit is all I ask.
Code:

Deodexed, Rooted and Zipaligned
Busybox
init.d support
Custom boot animation support
Tethering: USB, WIFI, Bluetooth
De-Knoxed
Added F-Droid and AdAway
Latest Saber Kernel
SO I WANT TO USE ANOTHER N9005 ROM ON MY N900T/N900W8, HOW DO I DO THAT?
Flash this file that fixes BT, WIFI, NFC and Camera -- DOWNLOAD -- md5: 1c99cc3d5570d747372e47df60e52427
Also flash the Compulsion Kernel or any other custom kernel made for N900T/N900W8
IMPORTANT: This fix has only being fully tested on Stainless and DragonsAir ROMs. You mileage may vary with other international ROMs.
What doesn't work:
Samsung Video Player
Built-In Browser. Fix: Use Chrome.
I am on AT&T, so I don't know if after applying the TMobile CSC file WIFI Calling will work or not. Please report back.

Sorry for the noobish question but I'm coming from Sprint & I've been with Sprint for like 10 years (like a prison sentence). I'm thrilled to be on t mobile now (my data speeds are still hard to believe). Since I'm totally new to gsm phones, would someone be kind enough to explain the advantages of using an international Rom? Also, can I use ANY international Rom? Cuz that is freaking awesome (just having all the additional choices).
Thanks in advance!
The Jedi took my note; the Force is strong with this one.
I know you said that NFC doesn't work - but can you confirm that BLUETOOTH is working?
If so - can I ask what you did to make it work? (I just wonder if that same thing can be done for other 9005 based roms?
Don't get me wrong - I am very interested in flashing this - but I was hoping that if Bluetooth was working, I can replicate what you did on Omega and Bob Cat (I have nandroids of each - wifi working but no Blue Tooth(
Thanks in advance for your help...
Love international roms... Can't wait to try this out

I can't explain all the differences between the international and US GN3 Roms - but I can say that I have successfully flashed TWO of the International Roms - Omega and Bob Cat - you have to do some tweaking to get WIFI to work (I have a thread in the general section that describes the steps) but otherwise the only things that don't work (that I know if - is BLUETOOTH and NFC)
The Op has already has already said that NFC is not working on this rom - I don't know if BLUE TOOTH does or not, question was asked earlier and I am waiting on a reply)
But if Blue tooth and NFC is not critical for you then probably most of the International9005 Roms will be fine - (just read the OP to make sure the modem is not included - it usually isn't in a custom rom - but you should always check to be sure - that could brick your phone)
Hope that helps...

Actually it's a great question! I have updated the OP to reflect the need of TWRP or CWM to flash the CSC file.
Regarding the question if the CSC file would work on other ROM, the answer is that it may or may nor work because some custom ROMs make changes to build.prop to improve performance or add extra functionality to it that may be lost by flashing the CSC file. I would say make a backup, flash the CSC file and if it doesn't work just restore from your backup.

Overview
This is another Chinese firmware called 'Color OS' and generally ships on Oppo devices. It is not a "slight mod" but is more of a complete ROM similar to MIUI / Lewa and it has it's own unique feel.
Bugs
There are a few of em' as this is an Alpha build, but all in all most things work. You will experience some Chinese language in Apps but I cannot do anything about that.
At this point I am inly interested in fixing system-related bugs. I cannot support Facebook (or whatever App you use) FC'ing at this time. Sorry
Downloads
Download the ROM, Gapps for 4.2.2, and the loki-doki patch here: http://goo.im/devs/Thrive/jflteatt/ROMs/ColorOS
DOWNLOAD MIRROR
Please use this thread as a bug tracker. I will get to them as quickly as I can. (Remember, only system-related bugs will be supported at this time. I will do the best I can at that)
Instructions for Use
1. Download the ROM, Gapps, and loki-doki patch from one of the links above
2. Copy those 3 files to your internal or external SD Card
3. Reboot into recovery and perform a nandroid backup (or your backup of choice)
4. In recovery, wipe data (perform a full wipe)
5. Browse to where you saved the files and Install the ROM
6. When it is done flashing immediately flash the loki-doki.zip patch
7. Reboot your phone
8. Once you get your phone settles in a little bit and you've played with the magnificence that is ColorOS, reboot into recovery one more time and flash the 4.2.2 Gapps
9. Please comment here and make note of serious bugs. I am aware and working on a few of them
Thanks
- @tquetski for allowing me to kang your work
- drjbliss for the loki-doki patch
- Oppo for this firmware

Thanks for the kind words! I love Miui especially but thought thast this ROM was pretty cool. I ported (if you want to call it that) it from the SGH-i9505 for myself and @Tquetski said that I could port it to our device, which again is a simple port. Glad you like it!

I honestly have no idea. Even weirder than that is they are currently beta testing ColorOS 2.0 which looks better and has a lot of upgrades but it runs on 4.3. I dont get it!! Skip the JB versions and go with KitKat like Miui v6 is doing.
This ROM was sweet by the way. Really elegant and bright. Trumps miui in my opinion. If we could only get it in 100% English that would be my runner
Was wondering is there a way to force it into English in ten settings like on most of our Roms you can choose the a forced language somewhere

This ROM was sweet by the way. Really elegant and bright. Trumps miui in my opinion. If we could only get it in 100% English that would be my runner

Yeah it looks alright. To be honest though color os was really really nice. And did you see my ? In the miui thread about if it's possible to get lte integrated into these Chinese roms?

Did you select the ATT LTE APN from your APN list? I could swear it supported LTE but I could be wrong. To answer your question though it would be impossible to integrate it if it does not support it.
Set the APN to LTE and reboot then install Speed Test from the Playstore and what kind of up/down speeds you get. The icon in the status bar will not say LTE. I believe that is what the H+ is.
You could always set it manually like this too if it isnt set after choosing that APN:
Go To Dialer - put in *#*#4636#*#*
Go To Phone info
Set Preferred Network to: LTE/GSM auto (PRL)
Just uploaded version 2 Alpha......
I took out that Chinese dialog popup box and removed the ColorOS Chinese setup and keyboard. I added Gapps and SuperSU
You will still some force closes during Google setup and also when typing in the native SMS App. I'm still debugging.
Have fun!
I flashed v2 and liked what I saw--good job Tim--
Only issue was I couldn't get root with Titanium. I didn't check thru other apps to confirm root. So, not sure it wasn't TB. Will retry maybe tomorrow or wait for next version. Didn't test too long tonite, but Gmail setup ok and Wifi/Data fine--
Clean install
